SWATCH SUNDAY — Sally Hansen InstaDri x Sour Patch Kids Collection

Hello lovelies & happy Halloween! 🎃🐈‍⬛

Today I’m super excited because I have a very special Swatch Sunday post to share with you, perfect for Halloween! As I mentioned in my last post, I was lucky enough to be sent the most amazing PR package, featuring the new InstaDri x Sour Patch Kids collection that was released for Halloween. It includes 6 Sour Patch Kid themed shades — with Halloween themed names to match.

Sally Hansen InstaDri x Sour Patch Kids — Pump-Kid

2 coats, no top coat

First up, we have a perfect pumpkin orange — Pump-Kid. This creamy orange was opaque in 2 coats, & very bright. It levelled very well, without requiring any top coat, which is always a plus in my book. I also really loved the shape of the brush, because it made it easy to swipe onto the nail. The InstaDri line also dries very quickly,

Sally Hansen InstaDri x Sour Patch Kids — First Sour, Then Sweet

1 coats over Pump-Kid, no top coat

Next up, we have the first of 2 toppers in the collection — First Sour, Then Sweet. This fun white micro glitter topper is pretty densely packed, gives off the effect of sugar almost. The base is clear, so it is definitely best worn over another shade. I’m also really excited to use this in some Winter manicures, because I feel like this could be a great glitter for snow!

Sally Hansen InstaDri x Sour Patch Kids — The Un-Red

Next up, we have a fun vibrant red polish called The Un-red. I actually bought this polish last year, & misplaced it somewhere, so I was really excited to be gifted a replacement. Formula applies very smoothly, & dries quickly. Also I had no issues with staining upon removal, which is always a bonus.

3 coats, no top coat

Next up, we have Full Moon which was one of the shades that caught my eye as soon as I opened the package. This beautiful jelly blue is packed full of tiny white microglitters (similar to First Sweet, Then Sour. This one is definitely a sheer polish, so it took 3 coats to get coverage I was happy with.

Next up, we have the second glitter topper in the collection: Hallo-Queen. You would have seen this beautiful glitter in my post from Friday, but this really shows off all the multicoloured glitters — there are two sizes of orange hex glitters, black hex glitters & square holo glitters. I did use two coats to get a good amount of glitter on the nail — you can also sponge it on, like I did for my glitter gradient.

Sally Hansen InstaDri x Sour Patch Kids —Ghouls Night Out

The last Sour Patch Kids shade I have to show you, is Ghouls Night Out, a smooth black cream polish. This shade needed 2 coats for full coverage, because it’s not a super opaque black. It does apply smoothly though, which is always appreciated. I did find this black a little more watery than some black polishes I’ve used (you can kind off see it on my thumb) but it’s not a bad shade.

Sally Hansen InstaDri Glow In The Dark— Fab-BOO-lous

Next up, is Fab-BOO-lous, a fun glow in the dark shade. I did 2 coats over a white base — the shade itself is not very opaque, & blends into whatever shade you apply it over (as a glow in the dark shade usually does.) Formula was easy to work with, & I found the glow on this one really strong after a good charge.

3 coats over Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Get Mod, no top coat.

Last but not least, we have Creep It Real, another glow-in-the-dark beauty. This one has a pink colouring to it, so when applied over a white base, it actually pops. This did take 3 coats to get the opacity you see there, but it is a little streaky up until that point. This shade wasn’t as glowy as the other glow-in-the-dark entry, but I feel like this colour is a little more versatile, so it works out. I really like the pink shade all on its own.
