SWATCH SUNDAY — Sally Hansen x Sesame Street InstaDri Collection

•contains pr/gifted product•

Hello loves & happy Sunday! I know we may be sick of the Sally Hansen x InstaDri content this week, but I’m just so excited to share the shades from this collection with you!

The Sally Hansen x Sesame Street InstaDri collection consists on 10 polishes — 4 creams, 2 glitter toppers, 2 metallic/shimmery shades, & 2 jelly glitters. It’s a great assortment of different shades brought together under one great collection. There is also a fun set of press on nails as part of their Salon Effect Perfect Manicure line (although I won’t be featuring those as part of my swatches.

Each shade is based around a corresponding Sesame Street character (or, characters) which is a fun idea. & I think all the polishes fit perfectly!

So now onto the swatches!

Sally Hansen x Sesame Street InstaDri 1 Polish, Ah Ah Ah

2 coats, no top coat

The first shade from the collection is this beautiful pinky-purple 1 Polish, Ah Ah Ah based on the Count. The formula applied pretty flawlessly in two coats. I didn’t use any top coat for my swatches, & I was very pleased with the formulas! The InstaDri line is designed to be very quick drying, as well — hence the name — so I was happy to see how easily & smoothly it dried down.

Sally Hansen x Sesame Street InstaDri Zippity-Zap!

1 thick coat over 1 Polish, Ah Ah Ah, no top coat.

Next up, we have the first glitter topped of the collection, Zippity-Zap. This glitter is inspired by the character of Abby — & I’ll be honest, the only reason I know that is because I Googled Sesame Street characters & matched it to the picture on the bottle. This is a fun multi sized glitter topper. You do need to fish a bit to get a good selection of glitters on the nail, but that’s an issue with most glitter toppers. It’s definitely a fun glitter, & I think it would make for a beautiful glitter gradient.

Sally Hansen x Sesame Street InstaDri Up To Snuff

2 coats, no top coat.

Next up in the collection is Up To Snuff, a burst toasty orange that is inspired by Snuffleupages. This colour, as I mentioned in my previous half moon design, feels very perfect for Fall. It leans kind of brown or much more orange, depending on the lighting. But I think it’s a great colour, & one I can actually see myself wearing a lot over the next couple months. Like the other creams, the self leveling on this shade was pretty good.

Sally Hansen x Sesame Street InstaDri Perfect Blendship

1 coat over Up To Snuff, no top coat.

Next up, we have Perfect Blendship, the second glitter topped in the collection which inspired by our favourite roommates, Burt & Ernie. This glitter is full of blue, yellow & red bar glitters which is giving serious feather nail polish vibes. I originally, when I saw it in the bottle, thought I was going to absolute hate this polish, but I actually kind of dig it. This was one coat over my base, & I think it’s kind of fun. Obviously, depending on coats, you can have a thicker application. You could also sponge the polish on for better coverage of the nail.

Sally Hansen x Sesame Street InstaDri Turquesa Brilliante

2 coats, no top coat.

Next up, we have Turquesta Brilliante, a vibrant turquoise aqua cream. Like most of the creams in this collection, the formula is smooth & easy to apply, & self levels well. This shade is another one that I’m uncertain about the Muppet inspiration, but apparently it’s a character named Rosita — who is the same colour as this polish. It’s nice & bright, a definitely a fun pop of colour.

Sally Hansen x Sesame Street InstaDri C is for Color

2 coats, no top coat.

Next up, we have the last cream of the collection — C is for Color inspired by no other than Cookie Monster. This shade — it’s gorgeous. The formula is a bit thinner than the other creams in the collection, but it’s still perfect at levelling. But the colour is what I really love. It’s kind of dusty, & I love it.

Sally Hansen x Sesame Street InstaDri Elmo Loves Hue

3 coats, no top coat.

Next up, we have one of two bar glitter jelly shades in the collection: this is Elmo Loves Hue. The formula on this one was a bit tricky. The base is a thick jelly, with a lot of red bar glitters, inspired by the little red muppet it shades its name with. The polish is thin, though, which means you need a lot of coats. & if you don’t dry them enough between coats, it can be tricky to get smooth coats. That being said, this was the first shade from the collection I wore out & about, & I do like it — even with all the work it takes to apply. Truthfully, I will probably wear this as a a topper over another red polish, & skip all the trouble.

Sally Hansen x Sesame Street InstaDri Am I Not Adora-blue?

2 coats, no top coat.

Next up we have one of the shimmer shades from the collection, inspired by Grover, called Am I Not Adora-blue? This blue is lighter than C is for Cookie, with a gorgeous purple/pink glass fleck glitter. The formula is a bit thinner than the cream shades in the collection, but I still was happy with the coverage after 2 coats, even if you can see a hint of nail line. It also levelled very very well, for a smooth glossy finish.

Sally Hansen x Sesame Street InstaDri SCRAM!

2 coats, no top coat/

Next up, we have the second metallic/shimmer of the collection, named after our favourite grump Oscar the Grouch, called SCRAM! This was my surprise favourite of of the collection, which is funny because I’m not usually much of green fan — or at least I didn’t used to be. I really love the foil finish of this one, especially since it gives me Autumn vibes. If I had to make any notes on this one, I would say wait a bit between coats, so you don’t catch your first one when you apply the second.

Sally Hansen x Sesame Street InstaDri Think BIG

2 coats, no top coat.

Last, but not least, is the second jelly bar glitter shade of the collection called Think BIG! named after our childhood best friend Big Bird. Like Elmo Loves Hue, this is a jelly based polish with yellow bar glitters. I will say, the formula of this yellow was slightly different than it’s twin polish — I found I only needed 2 coats of this one for the coverage I needed, which meant it dried a bit faster. Obviously, this is not a shade I can see myself wearing every day, but it’s a fun novelty polish, & my four year old just loves it, so I know she’ll get plenty of use out of it.

& that’s the Sally Hansen x Sesame Street InstaDri collection. Over all, I think this is a really fun collection based on a childhood favourite. All 10 polishes definitely take from their inspiration. Even though not all of them are my favourites, there are some really fun shades in the collection, & I know my kids will love the ones I don’t necessarily see myself wearing all the time. If I had to pick favourites from the collection, I’d say C is for Cookie, Up to Snuff & SCRAM! are ones I’ll probably wear most often.
