It’s been super quiet on the blog front this week — there was a lot going on behind the scenes, so nail polish had to take a bit of a step back. But I’m super excited because not only am I starting with a very exciting Swatch Sunday post, but I’m starting with a very exciting, absolutely jammed pack Swatch Sunday post featuring the brand new Sally Hansen Miracle Gel x Friends collection!
To say I’m excited would be an understatement. As soon as I saw the collection being released — and heard the names — I was so hoping I would get a chance to get my hands on some of this collection. & Thanks to the absolute dolls at Sally Hansen, they gifted me with the most amazing PR package featuring all these beautiful shades. Hello lovelies & happy Thursday! It’s a beautiful sunny Thursday here, which is super exciting! It’s actually supposed to be warm & sunny. So naturally that means I need nails that are bright & fun to match.
Recently I teamed up with TradeSecrets.ca, which is a Canadian based online seller, & I picked a few new fun Spring/Summery nail polishes to add to my stash (along with a base coat & top coat). While I’ve followed along with TradeSecrets on Instagram, mostly for their hair products — because we all know I’m hair product obsessed — I was really excited to see all the fun nail related items they sell as well. They also have free shipping on all orders.
For my first look using these shades, I decided to go with a fun & easy Saran Wrap Splatter look.
The polishes I used for this manicure are:
Base Coat: OPI Natural Nail Base Coat
Top Coat: OPI Nature Strong Top Coat
OPI Nature Strong Make My Daisy
OPI Nature Strong Cactus What You Preach
OPI Nature Strong Emflowered
Saran Wrap or some kind of crinkled thin plastic (I used some of an apple bag)
I really, really need to do a video tutorial for these, but I keep forgetting I want to until after I’ve painted my nails. But how fun did these turn out? I’m really loving these three shades! When I was browsing the TradeSecrets website, these were the three colours that screamed Summer to me most, so obviously I needed them in my life!
I definitely suggest trying out TradeSecrets.ca if you’re looking for a new place to easily pick up nail polish. They have a huge selection of OPI polishes, but also sell ORLY & Dip polish kits for those who like a longer lasting manicure. They were also kind enough to send along some hair products my way, so let me know if you’d like to see my thoughts on those as well!

Hello loves & happy Tuesday! I hope everyone is having a lovely week so far. It’s almost Easter, so I thought it was about time to share a somewhat Easter-y design. & what is more fun than a speckled Easter egg design!
I literally do a version of this look every year, & if never gets old to me. It’s such an easy & festive look to do. Plus I always joke since I can’t actually eat mini eggs, wearing them on my nails is the next best thing!
The polishes I used for this manicure are:
Base Coat: Sally Hansen Good. Kind. Pure Hardener
Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
Matte Top Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Matte Top Coat
Julep Alyssa (thumb)
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Sugar Fix (pointer)
Essie Play Date (Middle)
Essie Gel Couture On The List (ring)
Sinful Colors Yolo Yellow (pinky)
Wet N Wild 2% Milk
OPI How Great Is Your Dane?
I’ve tried a few different versions of this look over the years, like I said, but (I think) this was my first time attempting using a fan brush for the speckled look. Usually I used the saran wrap splatter look, but I think I like using a fan brush even more! It gives a much daintier speckled effect. I think this look is much more true to actual speckled eggs, & I’m obsessed.

It’s rainy, and yucky here, but it could be worse — it could be snow. So I will take the rain. Today I have a pretty floral look to share with you to brighten up your day. They’re a bit Sunflower-esque. This nail design was actually prompted by a co-worker of mine who told me I should do yellow nails with yellow flowers. & so this design was spawned.
Now that Spring is coming, I hope, I just want to wear all my florals. I’ve been breaking out my floral shirts, & even a few dresses on those warmer days. &, obviously, on my nails because floral nails always fit — even on snowy, or rainy, days.

Today I’m excited because today’s prompt for Glam Nails Challenge March is checkered, & that’s a design I don’t think I’ve ever done in all the years I’ve been doing my nails. So I was very excited for this challenge, & decided to make it even more of a challenge by free-handing the whole look. Haha it’s not like I didn’t have a stamping plate I could have used. I just wanted to see if do it.
& instead of the classic black & white, I decided some Spring-y colours, & peak-a-book negative space, would be perfect.
I picked up a few of these funky bright Sinful Colors shades at my local Walmart, 3 for $6, so I went with that colour scheme because it would be the most fun. Bright, funky & colourful! Perfect for these almost Spring days we’ve been having.
Also I’m really, really proud of how this freehanding turned out. I was very nervous to attempt something as complex & time consuming as this. But you know what, I’m really glad I did, because they turned out so freaking perfect.
