Hello lovelies! Happy Sunday! & happy first post of 2020! I thought it would be exciting if my first post of the New Year was my first Swatch Sunday post of the new year & decade.
Today we have an awesome start with two BRAND NEW polishes from Wrenn Polish. I’ve share quite a few of her gorgeous shades on my blog before, but for those who are new, Wrenn Polish is a vegan, cruelty free & 5-free brand of Indie polish. All of her nail polish shades are inspired by her jewelry line, which makes for some incredibly beautiful nail polish shades.
Alissa recently came out with two brand new polishes just in time for the holidays, & guess what? THEY’RE BOTH HOLO! So if you’re looking for some beautiful new polish, keep reading!
WRENN POLISH — Ruby Slippers
.
First up, we have Ruby Slippers, a red toned liner pink polish or pink toned red — it honestly depends on the light. This shade might actually be the perfect Valentine’s Day shade, because that’s immediately what I thought of when I saw it. In fact, I’m already brainstorming Valentine’s Day ideas using this shade.
First off, you’re looking at ONE COAT of polish over base, no top coat. & you know how much I love when holo is one coat! The formula on this was really, really good — it went on easily, in one coat, & dried quite quickly. The holo is pretty strong, although my lightbox was not showing it off quite as well as I would have liked. Honestly, I feel like if I had finished off with a glossy top coat, it would have bumped the holo up that much more!
WRENN POLISH — Intoxicated
.
The second new release from Wrenn Polish is Intoxicated, a dark purple jelly scattered holo. This shade was inspired by a amethyst, & quite honestly wearing this shade on your fingers is like wearing tiny gems on your fingernails — it’s absolutely stunning & gorgeous & everything I love in a purple nail polish.
You’re looking at 2 coats over base coat. Because of the jelly base, you do need to build the polish a little bit, but the formula was pretty easy to apply & I didn’t find it too streaky after your apply your second coat. The scattered holo is very, very dense which I love. The purple is inky & dark, which gives it a very regal feel. I’ve never been disappointed by one of the shades I’ve received from Wrenn Polish, & I feel like you can really feel the quality from these shades & the fact that they’re handmade.
Overall, I’m once again really impressed with both of these shades I’ve received. Wrenn Polish was my first ever experience with Indie Nail Polish, & she continues to exceed my expectations & is quite honestly one of my favourite brands — Indie or not.
Both of these Wrenn Polish shades go for $15.00 USD on her site! Right now, she is having a deal where you can get a 3 polish gift set for $35 & those two shades do appear to be included! So if you’re looking to try out some of her shades, that is an incredible deal to take advantage of!
