QUO by Orly Best of the Best Holiday 2016 6 pack collection

Hello lovelies! It’s been a while (too long!) but I’m back and I have some swatches to finally share.  A few weeks back I was sent some QUO by Orly products for review, and I finally have swatches of one of the two sets to share!

The Best of the Best 6 polish collection contains 6 creme and crelly mini bottles of polish. I’m a huge fan of these mini sets because you get a great selection of polishes to try out and fall in love with! The only downside is there are no names to go along with the polishes.

Now onto the swatches! For each swatch I used a base coat (always), two to three coats of polish, and finished with top coat.

First polish up is this neon pink leaning coral crelly. Not the first colour you think of for the holidays, but I love it. So much so I’ve been wearing it on my toes for a good two weeks. I used three coats for this swatch to cover any visible nail line, and hide any patchiness. I find with these mini bottles it can be a little more difficult to get the nail covered, just because the brushes are so teeny. But this colour… oh this colour. It screams Summer beach weather which is interesting to pull out in Mid-November sweater weather. But it’s just so pretty not too!

Next up we have a bubble gum pink creme. This colour screams Barbie to me, which is not a colour I own a lot of in my polish stash. Again not a colour I immediately associate with the holidays, but it is very pretty. This was two coats, and it leveled beautifully. Because it leans neon, I found this polish dried semi matte before I topped it with glossy top coat. Again, this polish is very much a Summer colour, but it would also make a lovely base for nail art.

Now this is my kind of colour! Another crelly, I’m honestly in love with this classic red (but I’ve always been a sucker for a red polish). It leans slightly orange, but oh man…. just look. This was three coats of polish to cover any visible nail line, plus top coat.  I can definitely see myself using this polish for lots of Christmas manicures.

Next up, we have a polish that definitely feels very Holidays to me. This gorgeous purple leaning burgundy (it looks more burgundy in real life) was two coats, plus top coat. This is the kind of polish I wear a lot this time of year, especially paired with gold. In fact, I can just picture adding some gold flakies or glitter placement with shard glitter for a quick and easy nails.

So in pictures this polish looks more white than it shows up in real life, which I’m not sure why. In real life, it’s a very pale pink. For this swatch, it was two coats, plus top coat. The first coat was definitely chalky, but the second coat leveled everything beautifully. This is the kind of colour I love to use as a base for nail art. I can definitely see myself grabbing this one for a great base for floral. Such a soft and delicate colour.

And last but not least from this collection is this gorgeous and bright blurple (it leans very blue in pictures, but in real life there is a lot of purple that shows through). This was two coats, plus top coat. At first I thought it was going to require at least three coats as the first coat was quite thin, but the second coat covered any patchiness. Oh man, this colour. I love this colour so much. Again I wouldn’t call this a Holiday colour BUT man, I will definitely be using it for some snowflake nails just because it’s so pretty.

So what do you think of these colours? Any of them stand out as your favourite?
