Hello lovelies & happy Sunday! A beautiful, sunny Sunday. It’s been feeling like Spring (most of) this week, so I thought something Spring-y on my nails would be perfect. & what is more Spring-y than a beautiful periwinkle blue?
Without further ado, this is Essie You Do Blue.

2 coats + top coat.
The formula on this creamy blue is smooth & easy to apply to the nail. I am quite a fan of the wider Essie brushes they’ve been using in the last few years. It took me a bit to get used to them, but they are much better when it comes to application.
My favourite part of this polish, though, is that is has this gorgeous fuchsia shimmer that really pops in the sunshine. It gives the extra dimension that makes it a little extra special, & for me that makes this shade a winner. I own a lot of blue nail polishes, but the ones that have shimmer or sparkle added — especially unexpected ones — are always the ones I reach for first!

This shade was originally released, as far as I can tell, during early 2020 as part of the Flying Solo collection. I think after that it made it to the core collection, but I did pick up mine on clearance for $1 so I’m thinking it may not be in regular circulation anymore — although the Essie website does have it listed as available for sale so I could be totally wrong.

Over all, I’m totally obsessed with this colour — it’s not just the pretty periwinkle blue, but that stunning shimmer. I adore it.
What do you think of Essie You Do Blue? Do you think this shade screams Spring as much as I do? Let me know all your thoughts in the comments below, & let me know your thoughts on this pretty blue shade!
Happy Sunday!

Absolutely lovely, Shannon! I agree- perfect for spring, and I love that glow!!! Oh my!
May I ask you a question? I’m having issues with my nails at the moment and am looking for alternatives to try for removing nail polish. Do you use an acetone nail polish remover or something else? I believe it’s the acetone that’s causing it, as that’s the only thing that’s really changed in my routine in the last year/year and a half since this issue first started (aside from doing my nails -less- often than I used to). Thank you in advance for your wisdom! Your nails look so happy and healthy and I’d really like to achieve better nail/cuticle health!
Have a blessed day and week! 🩵💚🩷💛🤍

Hey love! Sorry for the late reply — I tend to lean towards a nourishing/moisturizing acetone base remover versus a straight up acetone remover. When I use straight acetone it definitely makes my nails drier & I get a lot of peeling. I really, really love the Cutex Acetone based removers, specifically the Nourishing one & the Swipe & GO Nail polish remover pads. I find my nails tend to feel the best when I’m using them.
Hopefully that helps! Good luck! 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing, dear! Admittedly, I used to use the “nourishing” acetone base removers, too, but when I saw how slick the 100% acetone was (that I bought for when I stamp my nails), I took the easy way out for removal and had been using that. Coupled with the abuse my nails take (namely: injuries related to the life that is when you own 1200 pound animals with minds of their own 🐎🥰), that’s probably the kicker there.
I appreciate it, and thanks immensely for your recommendations on which removers to look at! (I picked up the non-acetone remover Target sells in their line of products and I may have just saved the $1.50 and used plain tap water. Darn near worthless and even damaging in that it forced me to use so much pressure on my nail bed with the cotton ball to get up enough friction to do anything at all… 0/10 stars!)
Thanks again and have a blessed week!

I’ve used the Olive & June non-acetone nail Polish remover pot & I found it had really good removal power! It won’t let me insert the link on mobile, but hopefully this works: https://oliveandjune.com/collections/nail-essentials/products/polish-remover-pot
I’ve used their acetone one as well but it can be a bit drying (their cuticle pen is very moisturizing!) I’m from Canada, but I believe they’re sold in Target? Good luck on your journey — it’s definitely not easy sometimes. 🫶❤️
