Hey lovelies! Yep, I promise you’re in the right place. Like I mentioned before, I’ve been thinking of branching out for blog & expanding my content. A long, long time ago, I used to share OOTD on my old blog, & it was so much fun because it encouraged me to get dressed up more. Also, I just really really like clothes & fashion & dressing up. So I thought it would be fun to share some fashion content on here as well with what I’m dubbing “Fashion Fridays”.
I thought I would start off this week with my five go-to items (right now). I have a pretty extensive wardrobe that I’ve collected over the years, but I do tend to have a kind of uniform I adopt for those days where I just can’t bother to put a lot effort into getting dressed, but still want to look & feel cute. Some of these items are out of stock or a couple years old, so if I can’t link the exact item, I will link items similar.
Pink Maternity Sweater (H&M)
.
First up, is my absolute favourite cosy sweater. I purchased this sweater last Winter (on sale!) during my second pregnancy & absolutely lived it in — so much so, I actually wore it to the hospital the night I went into labour! But even though I’m not pregnant any more — & back to my regular pre pregnancy size — this is still one of my absolute favourite sweaters to wear! It’s amazing over leggings or with the front tucked into high waisted jeans. Definitely my go to sweater right now.
Black Ribbed Knee Leggings (Eclipse)
.
I should probably start off by mentioning that I am a huge sale rack shopper. I found these leggings last year (again while I was pregnant) & loved them because they had that high waistband & the cute knee details & were on sale for only $7! I’m all about leggings that won’t roll down, & these always stay right in place. The cotton material is also really nice because they remind me more of pants than leggings.
& now a close up of the knee ribbing because that & the waistband are the main reasons these are my favourite leggings.
Black & White Striped Long Sleeve T-shirt (Giant Tiger)
.
So I’ve been low key obsessed with black & white striped shirts for a long time, but had yet to add one to my collection. When I saw this shirt while perusing Giant Tiger last September, I knew I needed to add it to my collection because it was giving me serious Keira Knightley vibes, & we all know she’s my celebrity style crush. They only had it in a large, but since I always size up by a size or two in shirts anyways, I decided it would be perfect. & honestly it has quickly become one of my most frequently worn shirts. I seriously need to think about buying it in a couple more colours.
White V-neck Tee (Forever 21)
.
Oh man, I love Forever 21 tees, which makes it extra sad that they no longer exist in Canada. This tee in particular is my favourite because it can be worn different ways depending on your mood: with high waisted skinny jeans, paired with a cute skirt, or even layered under a spaghetti strap dress if you can’t have bare shoulders. I tend to wear this tee with my favourite jeans (which you’ll see next) & throw a cardigan or kimono over top to complete the look.
Levi’s Dark Wash Slimming Skinny Jeans
.
I have a habit of falling in love with a pair of jeans & wearing them until they fall apart so it makes me happy that these Levi’s (which are over 2 years old) still fit me as well as the day I got them. The material is soft but structured, & still has a little give to them — without getting all stretched out where they don’t fit properly anymore. I’m a huge fan of high waisted jeans & these are great because they really feel like they hold you in. They also go with pretty much everything — they are just as cute with sneakers & my favourite basic tee, as they are with a fancy tank top & flats for date night. Probably the best pair of jeans I’ve ever owned.

& those are my five go to clothing items right now. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with this Friday feature, but I definitely plan on sharing some of my OOTD so you’ll get to see these pieces, as well as a ton of other items in my closet, coming up! If you have anything you’d like to see coming up, let me know!
