My Spring Polish Picks

If you’re like me, your love of nail polish may run into barriers such as money & time. Being a new Mom, I can’t afford to go crazy on buying nail polish like I used to, because you know… diapers. That means when I do want to buy polish, I have to make sure it is really something special. So instead, I’ve been “shopping” my own stash instead of buying new polishes.

In that spirit, I decided to go through & pick my favourite polishes for Spring from the shades I already own! It took me a while to pick my personal favourites from all the polishes I own, but these are all shades I can see myself reaching for in the coming months, & screams Spring to me!  I’ve listed the seasons these polishes were released, but I know some are part of the permanent core collections.

ACO by Ardene Creamy Mint (Spring/Summer 2015)

I’m not usually a fan of green nail polish, aside from at Christmas or St Patrick’s Day, but considering Pantone’s colour of the year is Greenery, I’m trying to embrace it! Creamy Mint by ACO by Ardene is a great Spring colour because it’s not too green but still has that fresh Spring feeling to it.

Other green/mint polishes (from my stash) I’ll be wearing this Spring are:

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Bourbon Belle (Spring 2017)

Corals & Spring are just two things that go well together, like… coffee & nail polish. But seriously, you can not come up with a list of polishes for Spring without including at least something in the coral family, & Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in Bourbon Babe is the perfect shade,

Other coral polishes I think are great for Spring are:

China Glaze Sun Upon My Skin (Summer 2014)

Yellow is another not too common colour is my own polish rotation, but you can’t deny it’s a great colour for Spring! China Glaze Sun Upon My Skin is a buttery yellow that is another polish which is great for making yourself look more tan, even  if you’ve spent all Winter locked inside (like I have.)

Other Spring-y yellow polishes great for Spring are:

Essie Bikini So Teeny (Summer 2012)

So if there is one blue polish that is my all time favourite blue, it’s Essie Bikini So Teeny. I coveted this polish for a very long time, & if they ever say they’re discontinuing it I’ll probably buy 20 bottles to stock up. This pretty cornflower blue with subtle shimmer is Spring, as far as I’m concerned. I love, love, love it.

Other favourite Spring blues in my stash that I love are:

Quo by ORLY Feeling Free (Summer 2016)

Feeling Free from Quo by ORLY’s Breatheable line is one of my favourite purples in general, but the fact it requires no base or top coat (& helps make your nails healthier!) makes it even better in my eyes! I’m under the belief that purple is good in every season, but the brightness of the shade looks great as the days get warmer!

A few more purples that are perfect for Spring:

What are your favourite shades for Spring, either from your own stash or New Spring collections? I have to say, I’m loving some of the shades from EssieOPI & China Glaze so I may have to narrow down a favorite or two to splurge on!

  2. Loved reading your Spring Picks post….(as well as what I have so far in your blog & on IG 🙂 Beautiful, clean page, easy to read! Congrats!!
What I’m loving about your Picks is the fact that they are easily accessible to anyone who desires to get their digits into these beauties!! I’m a huge fan of polishes made for everyone, and I’ve been getting away from brands that are over-hyped, not worth the price tag, and *Exclusive* lines.
    Keep up the brilliant work!!
(Oh, and I ADORE your previous dotticure post 🙂

    1. Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoy what you’ve read so far!
That is kind of what I’ve always aimed to do—I love drugstore brands and I tend to veer towards a good deal over the higher end price point. I love a good deal. 🙂
