Matte Floral over Coral 🌸

First nail art of this brand new year… & obviously I had to go with floral! Who says you can only wear flowers on your nails in Spring & Summer… floral is an all year nail art trend for me. Also, I have to admit, it feels really nice to be feeling up to doing my nails again. & even though I’m a wee bit rusty, it’s like riding a bike how easy it is to get back into the routine again.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Essie Grow Stronger
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat
  • Matte Top Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Matte Top Coat
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Malibu Peach
  • Essie 5th Avenue
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Sweet Tea
  • Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Red It Online
  • Essie Suite Retreat
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Sugar Fix
  • Essie Off Tropic
  • Essie First Timer
  • Essie Fashion Playground

I love how this turned out & how the red & blurple flowers pop over the coral polish. This was definitely one of those manicures I went into with no real “plan” but kind of kind winged it… & it turned out so pretty to me! Also it was so exciting to finally get to test out my new nail art tools from NailStuff.ca.

what do you think of this look? What nail art looks are you excited to try out this year? Maybe I’ll give watermarbling another try!

Recreating my Wedding Nails (Happy 3rd Anniversary to us!)

Happy Wednesday lovelies! Not only is today the middle of the week & halfway to the weekend, but today marks 3 years since I married my best friend. If you’ve been around originally, you may remember my original post featuring the nails on our special day.

Naturally, I wore a floral design–which is a surprise to no one. & in honour of this day, I decided I really wanted to recreate my original design. & spoiler: I love it just as much today as I did on this date 3 years ago.

For my recreation of this manicure, the polishes I used were:

    • Base Coat: OPI Nail Envy
    • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
    • Essie Suite Retreat
    • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel After Altar
    • L’Oréal Getting Kilty
    • Julep Vivien
    • Sally Hansen CSM Killer Heels
    • Sally Hansen CSM Red It Online
    • Sally Hansen CSM Rose To the Occasion
    • Sally Hansen CSM Blush Against The World
    • Quo by ORLY the Antidote
    • Essie Off Tropic
    • Quo by ORLY Diva
    • Essie Sew Psyched
    • Nailstuff.ca Mermaid Tail Nail Art Brush
    • Dotting Tools

I’ve written before how much I love going back to recreating my manicures, & I’m so glad I got to do the same for this one. I know some people go for more classic wedding & bridal manicures, but it just felt more “me” to do a full floral look (with something blue & a gold accent nail.) & no matter how much time passes, I don’t see myself ever getting “over” floral nail art. It’s just too perfect.

How did you wear your nails for your wedding day? Did you go more classic or a little more fun? (& for those planning to get married soon, do you know how you’re wearing your nail yet?)

& for fun, a few pictures from our wedding day ♥️

Wedding Appropriate Floral & Polka Dots

Happy Monday lovelies & a long weekend Holiday Monday at that! Going to try & make up for my lack of posts last week with a few extra this week (after a crazy last week at work with back-to-school).

First up is a nail design I wore to a wedding this past weekend. Obviously, I had to do roses & I decided to add it a few polka dots as well. To me, this design kind of looks like wallpaper, but like cute wallpaper. & I absolutely love how they turned out. But then again, when have I ever not been happy with floral on my nails!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

    • Base Coat: OPI Nail Envy
    • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
    • ACO by Ardene Flawless
    • Essie A List
    • Essie Peach Daiquiri
    • Essie Cute As A Button
    • Quo by ORLY the Antidote
    • Essie Off Tropics
    • Essie Sew Psyched
    • Essie Absolutely Shore
    • ACO by Ardene Day Dreamer
    • Medium & Small Sized dotting tool
    • NailStuff.ca Mermaid Tail Brush

This look turned out so perfectly, just how I imagined in my head. They were the perfect nail art look for attending a wedding, actually ended up matching the dress that I wore which also had roses all over it. Not going to lie, I totally picked my dress because it matched so well with my nails!

what do you think of this nail art look? Do you have a go-to wedding look for your nails?

Have a happy Monday lovelies! ♥️

Rifle Paper Co Phone Case Inspired Floral

Good morning lovelies & happy Tuesday… as happy as a Tuesday can be! Today I have some floral nails from a few weeks back to share. This design was inspired by a brand new phone case I picked up at Winners recently… a Rifle Paper Co phone case! & I was so excited by the pattern that I just had to recreate it on my nails!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

    • Base Coat: OPI Nail Envy
    • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
    • Essie In the Cab-Ana
    • OPI Koala Berry
    • OPI My Chihuahua Bites
    • Essence The Green & The Grunge
    • Essie First Timer
    • Sinful Colours Amethyst
    • Essie Play Date
    • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Sweet Tea
    • China Glaze Metro Pollen-tin
    • Sally Hansen I ♥️ Nail Art pen in black
    • Essie Jiggle Hi, Jiggle Lo
    • Small detail brush from Bundle Monster

I’m really, really loving this pattern. It’s been a little while since I rocked floral, so I’m was excited to break it out again. Especially since it’s already starting a feel a little Fall like in the morning, & I feel the call of cosy sweaters & jewel toned polishes already!

So what do you think of this floral design? Have you ever been inspired by a phone case? Share down below!

    Cactus Accent Nails 🌵💅🏻

Happy Thursday! It’s been a while since I rocked any cactus nails, & I was craving some vibrancy. I don’t often reach for green polish when painting my nails, but I’ve been trying to get out of my comfort zone. Keeping with that, I decided to pull a green (textured) polish from deep in my stash that I haven’t worn in too many years to count, & paired it with some cute cacti on my accent nails!

Polishes I used for this design were:

    • Base Coat: OPI Nail Envy
    • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
    • LA Girl Sand Blast Nail Polish in Green Island
    • China Glaze What’s She Dune?
    • Essie First Timer
    • Essie Off Tropic
    • Deborah Lippmann She Drives Me Crazy
    • Essie A-List
    • OPI I Eat Maine-ly Lobster
    • Small detail brush (from Bundle Monster)
    • Small dotting tool (from Bundle Monster)

Sadly I kind of hid the texture of LA Girl Green Island with my top coat, but it came through a bit. This was my very first textured polish, back in the very early days of my nail art. It was also the beginning of my obsession with finding nail polish deals at Lawton’s—I remember scoring it & a blue Sand Blast Polish for only a dollar. & so began my obsession with finding old polishes at awesome deals. & I still hate spending full price for polish to this day!

Also I love creating these little freehand cactus. Still on the search for some cactus nail vinyls, because I’m a little cactus obsessed, but in the meantime I don’t mind freehanding my cacti. I also just picked up a new stamping plate from Essence with a cactus on it, so stay tuned as I plan on trying it out soon (hopefully this weekend!)

What do we think of this design? Do you still have any textured polishes in your stash? Let me know down in the comment below!
