Born Pretty Store Review — Potted Plant Stamping Plate L036 item #38420

Good morning! I was recently sent some awesome items from Born Pretty Store for review & I can’t wait to show off what I received. Today I’m reviewing this Potted Plant Harunouta Stamping plate L036 (item #38420) featuring my current garden obsession–cacti! 🌵

As soon as I saw this plate, I knew I needed it! I’ve been trying to get into stamping more, even though I find it a tad challenging. This cute plate comes in it’s own little envelope, sealed with blue plastic to protect it from scratches. For this manicure, I was inspired by some outfits I recently bought for my son, & thought this plate would be perfect to recreate the look!

For this manicure I used:

  • Base Coat: L’Oréal All in One
  • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
  • OPI That’s Hula-rious
  • OPI Care to Danse
  • Born Pretty Store Black Stamping polish (from this set
  • Harunouta Potted Garden stamping plate L036 —item #38420
  • Born Pretty Clear Jelly Stamper

For stamping, I used the Born Pretty Store brand stamping polish which I received as part of another set for review. I am still relatively new to this stamping thing, so it took me a little bit to get the hang of stamping. My advice–do not try to do this at midnight when you’re sleep deprived. I tried a couple different looks–including filling in the design. I also tried a couple different stampers in my collection but decided on my clear Jelly stamper (also from Born Pretty.) It took me a couple tries to figure out how to pick up the images perfectly, but as you can see when it finally worked for me, the images were perfect.

For this particular design, I stamped both the cactus pattern on my middle finger & the stripes on my pinky. The black stamping polish was definitely the best for picking up the images (I tested with some of my other blacks & couldn’t pick anything up). You definitely have to move quick though–if you wait too long, you won’t pick up anything! But even with all the work, the end result is gorgeous. & I couldn’t stop staring at my nails.

All in all, I love this stamping plate. For me the cactus is what caught my eye (because cactus! 🌵) but their are so many cute designs to choose from depending on the occasion. I can definitely see myself using this plate for a while slew of occasions! You can definitely expect to the cute images from this plate pop up again!

Psychedelic Patten Nails

Happy Saturday! Today I have some patterned accent nails to show off using more vinyls from Xroma Polish & Vinyls. This time I picked  the Psychedelic Stencils & some pretty OPI shades to create my look.

For this manicure I used:

  • Base Coat: Perfect Fotmula Pink Gel Coat
  • Top Coat: Cutex Quick Dry Top Coat
  • OPI My Dogsled Does Tricks
  • OPI I Canolli Wear OPI
  • OPI Do You Have This Color In Stock-holm
  • OPI Two Timing The Zones
  • OPI That’s Hula-rious
  • Xroma Polish & Vinyls Psychedelic Stencils
  • Latex Free Make Up Sponge

Aren’t these vinyls just something.? I love how fun & different they are. They were so easy to use & I think the colours blended so well together.  It created such a fun & unique look. I also really like the combination of colours–& they’re not blue so I’m sticking to my personal challenge for June!

Patterned accent nails are some of my favourite quick designs using nail vinyls, & ive been all about the quick designs lately as my time has been limited for any Me-time. It’s been a struggle to have any blogging time at all, but I’m trying my best to keep thinking a going even if it means writing blog posts at 3am.

Craving Spring with Wavy Pattern Nails

TGIF! I mean I’m on maternity leave so sometimes I forget what day it actually is. But it’s supposed to be semi-warm & sunny this weeekend & some what Spring-like so I am very excited for the weekend to come! So in honour of the sunny days to come, I did this wavy design using some Spring shades & wavy nail vinyls from Xroma Polish and Vinyls

For this manicure I used:

  • Base Coat: Perfect Formula Pink Gel Coat
  • Top Coat: Cutex Quick Dry Top Coat
  • China Glaze Ever Glaze Don’t Grape About It
  • Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Hard To Get
  • ORLY Gumdrop
  • Sally Hansen X-treme Wear Babe Blue
  • Xroma Polish and Vinyls Skinny Waves Nail Vinyls
  • Dotting tool

I’m loving these vinyls from Xroma Polish and Nail Vinyls! They’re just so easy to use. This manicure only took me about 1/2 hour to do (after my initial polish had dried) including placing all my vinyls. & no issues with polish bleeding under the vinyls, which I hate so much. Even better, these wave vinyls were long enough I could cut them in half on some nails which meant I used less.

This colour combination looks so pretty together, I love it. What is it about purple & mint that looks so stunning when paired? Definitely just feels like Spring-time to me. 💜

Splatter Nails with @xromapolishandvinyls!

Happy Monday everyone!

I was recently sent some nail vinyls to play with from @xromapishandvinyls & as soon as they arrived I couldn’t wait to pull them out & start creating. You know how much I LOVE my nail vinyls, & Xroma Polish and Vinyls have a ton of awesome creative designs available on their site

First design I grabbed to play around with was the splat stencils!

For this manicure, I used:

  • Base Coat: Perfect Formula Pink Gel Coat
  • Top Coat: Cutex Quick Dry Top Coat
  • Essie Butler Please
  • ACO by Ardene Ice Mist
  • Quo by ORLY mini unnamed pink
  • Quo by ORLY mini unnamed mint
  • Xroma Polish and Vinyls Splat Stencil
  • Small dotting tool

Isn’t this pattern so much fun?! I’m sure I’m not the only person who loves splatter nails but hates the clean up. Plus even with filling in my splats individually, this manicure was easy & surprisingly quick to do!

These were so much fun to do & even more fun to wear! They even matched my OOTD. I’d definite recommend checking out Xroma Polish And Vinyls site yourself, & all the amazing patterns available. They ship world wide from Australia, & mine arrived super quick! I think it took only 6 business days & I live on the other side of the world in Canada so I though that was really impressive.

Easter Mini Egg Nails

Is there anything more Easter-y than  Cadbury Mini Eggs? Well, I mean back in the day when they only came out at Easter. Sadly my lactose intolerance has come back since having the little one, but that doesn’t mean I don’t still love those delicious chocolate eggs (it just means I can eat them.) & since I won’t be enjoying them in my Easter basket this year, I thought I would continue the tradition of recreating them again on my nails. (I did mini egg nails previously in 2015 here & 2016 here

For this mani, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Perfect Formula Pink Gel Coat Base Coat
  • Top Coat: Cutex Quick Dry Top Coat
  • Matte Top Coat: L’Oréal the Matte Velvet top coat.
  • China Glaze Sun Upon My Skin
  • Hard Candy Sky
  • OPI Getting Nadi On My Honeymoon
  • Revlon Minted
  • Nubar New Mood
  • Essie Cocoa Karma
  • Wet N Wild 2% Milk
  • Crinkled Up Plastic Wrap

I’ve been doing these nails every year and I love how each time year turn out differently depending on the polishes and techniques used. I also think it’s because they’re just so easy to do, but it looks fantastic & just the right amount of festive! But fair warning: they will make you crave chocolate mini eggs. & if you can’t eat chocolate that could become problematic. Haha.  Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
