Mani swap with @dsetterfield74!

Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday night! I’m once again delayed on posting, but here is the mani swap I did with the ever so talented  Dianna (@dsetterfield74) on Instagram!

For this swap, Dianna recreated my matte chevron moons I did back in the Fall, and I recreated her red and gold swirl nails. I had a hard time picking from her assortment of beautiful manicures, but I just loved the gold and red too much not to choose it!

I didn’t have the stamping plate that Dianna used, so I decided to recreate the swirls freehand. It could have ended as an epic nail polish fail, but thankfully it turned out super close to its inspiration! (Thank goodness! No one likes a nail fail.)

For this mani, the polishes I used were:

  • Essie A-List
  • Icing NYE
  • Essie Shine of the Times
  • Essence Black Is Back
  • gold studs (from Born Pretty Store)
  • Small nail art brush (also from Born Pretty)
  • Essie Good to Go

So what do you think of this mani swap? I’m having a lot of fun swapping with all these amazing nail artists!

I just can’t get enough… Chevron nails.

Anyone else remember the days of freehanding my chevrons that were sort of lopsided (but don’t get me wrong–I’m still super proud I even did them!)

Thank goodness for nail vinyls–they make nail art so crazy easy. I’ve been playing around with then a lot lately and found Kiss Products Design Perfection Tip Guides at Wal-Mart for something like $1.99. I love trying new products so I decided to pick them up. They come with 4 different styles per sheet–moon, chevron, zig zag and French manicure. I’ve used the chevrons a couple times, but this was my first time trying out the zig zag vinyls.

The products I used for this manicure were:

  • Essie Brides No Grooms
  • Essie Tuck it in My Tux
  • Essie Shine of the Times
  • China Glaze Sleeping Under the Stars
  • Essie Good to Go
  • Kiss Products Design Perfection Tip Guides
  • Sally Hansen I Love Nail Art Studs

I’m super sad Shine of the Times didn’t really show up. If I had been thinking I would have used it over both Tuck it in My Tux and Sleeping Under the Stars. Also how cute are these little studs from Sally Hansen?! Picked up their nail art studs set on sale at Shoppers and I’ve been having fun playing with them. They’re just so itty bitty.

Blingy accent nail.

Good morning lovelies! Today I’ve got another manicure to share featuring the multi-sized crystals I was sent for review by Born Pretty (item #21586).

The polishes I used for this mani were:

  • OPI Do You Have This Color in Stock-holm?
  • L’oreal Magic Top Coats The Holographic
  • Essie Gel Setter top coat.
  • Born Pretty Rhinestones item #21586

I love these little rhinestones. They’re so easy to pick up with just a damp nail art brush, and I don’t have to worry about dropping them in the bed when doing my nails (which I always seem to do haha).

Hope everyone has a lovely Saturday! Halifax is currently bracing for ANOTHER winter storm, so I have that to look forward to at work! ❄️☃

Enjoy your weekend!

Subtle Dotticure.

Good morning fabulous people and happy Friday! Today I have a subtle dotticure featuring a couple more Essie favourites.

I picked up Frock N’Roll from the Essie  Fall 2015 collection the other week. I hadn’t worn it yet, so when I finally put it on I was trying to figure out what to pair this gorgeous polish! You can never go wrong with a dotticure, so I grabbed Essie Coat Couture and a small dotting took and created this vampy Fall look.

I love how this looks. From fall away it just looks like dark nails, but when you get up close you see the lighter grey dots. Coat Couture just goes so well with Frock N’Roll–I love it!

I’m all about the Dark Fall colours. I want them all! I thought I would be more drawn towards Essie Bell Bottom Blues from the fall collection but nope! This is the real winner. 😍 what do you think? Have you found this beauty yet? Let me know your thoughts in the comments! 💗

Matte chevron zig zag accent nails.

Fall colours make me so happy.  I’ve been digging through my stash for my favourite Autumn colours. I decided to pull a couple out and play around with a fun sweater inspired accent nail. (And some matte flakes for good measure!)

The polishes I used for this mani were:

  • OPI Miss You-niverse
  • Essie Coat Couture
  • Stripe Rite Striper in Gold
  • Art Club Nail Art Duo in Bubblegum Pink
  • QUO by ORLY special effects top coat in Matte Pink
  • L’oreal The Matte Velvet top coat.

What do you think of this mani? Do you ever pull out old favourites and revisit them?
