Deborah Lippmann Let’s Go Crazy

Sometimes a girl just needs a little sparkle in her life.

Especially in the middle of January with another winter storm looming.

A while ago (May maybe?) I was at Winners and picked up a pack of Deborah Lippmann minis. I’ve never owned any of her polishes, so when I saw a deal like that (I think I paid $19.99 for all of them) I couldn’t pass it up. Then I tucked them away and kind of forgot I bought them. Whoops. The other day though, when I was trying to decide something quick to wear on my nails, I saw my little minis peeking out and decided it was a good day for glitter. I grabbed Lets Go Crazy which is a purple jelly packed with glitters. Since I was feeling a little lazy, I decided to layer it over OPI Black Cherry Chutney to cut down on coats.

I love glitter, I really do. Whenever I wear it I will pretty much spend the whole day staring at my nails, distracted. Glitter removal on the other hand… not so much! But this polish was surprisingly easy to remove without too much much fuss.

Also check out that shine thanks to Essie Good to Go. In the first picture that pink you see is actually the reflection of my cellphone. Now that is a shiney top coat! 😍❤️

What’s your favourite glitter? Do you like to wear it full blown, or as more of an accent? I think my all time favourite glitter has to be Revlon Whimsical. It’s just so pretty and girly and perfect.

I just can’t get enough… Chevron nails.

Anyone else remember the days of freehanding my chevrons that were sort of lopsided (but don’t get me wrong–I’m still super proud I even did them!)

Thank goodness for nail vinyls–they make nail art so crazy easy. I’ve been playing around with then a lot lately and found Kiss Products Design Perfection Tip Guides at Wal-Mart for something like $1.99. I love trying new products so I decided to pick them up. They come with 4 different styles per sheet–moon, chevron, zig zag and French manicure. I’ve used the chevrons a couple times, but this was my first time trying out the zig zag vinyls.

The products I used for this manicure were:

  • Essie Brides No Grooms
  • Essie Tuck it in My Tux
  • Essie Shine of the Times
  • China Glaze Sleeping Under the Stars
  • Essie Good to Go
  • Kiss Products Design Perfection Tip Guides
  • Sally Hansen I Love Nail Art Studs

I’m super sad Shine of the Times didn’t really show up. If I had been thinking I would have used it over both Tuck it in My Tux and Sleeping Under the Stars. Also how cute are these little studs from Sally Hansen?! Picked up their nail art studs set on sale at Shoppers and I’ve been having fun playing with them. They’re just so itty bitty.

Another Go at Abstract Accent Nails

Does anyone remember this manicure from August 2014? Back from the days of my old Blackberry and less than stellar photo quality.  I thought it would be fun–since I’m struggling for inspiration lately–to give an old mani a redo! And since I loved these accents nails so much the first time, it seemed like the perfect choice.

The polishes I used for this mani were:

  • Essence Break Through
  • Essie After School Boy Blazer
  • OPI I Canolli Wear OPI
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Babe Blue
  • China Glaze Dune Our Thing
  • Born Pretty Rhinestones (item #21586)
  • Essie Good to Go top coat.

So what do you think of this mani? Which one do you prefer–this manicure or the original? One thing for sure is that my photo quality has definitely improved! 😆

Have a great day loves! I’m off to enjoy the rest of my day with plenty of coffee and a little writing! ☕️📝

Another go at Saran Wrap nail art

Happy Saturday lovelies! Hope you’re having a fantastic start to your weekend. And if you’re  one of those unlucky souls currently in the path of that awful Blizzard, I hope you’re staying warm and safe all tucked in with plenty of Storm Chips!

Today I’ve got some Spring-y Saran wrap nails to share with you, which I haven’t posted in quite a while. I love how quick and easy they look. For version of the Saran Wrap nails, I like to paint my polish directly on my crinkled up plastic wrap then dab it on my base colour. It creates a much different look! If you ever want me to create a pictorial tutorial for the technique, let me know and I definitely will (videos still escape me!).

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Essie Take it Outside (base colour)
  • Essie Garden Variety
  • Essie We’re in it Together
  • Sinful Colors Endless Blue
  • Revlon Cherries in the Snow
  • Black Nail art Striper from Milani
  • Essie Good to Go

So what do you think of this manicure? I’m feeling the January Nail Art blues hard. I don’t find there anything inspiring about these cold awful days. =(

Bring on February and all the Valentines Days manicures a girl can handle! ❤

Purple Matte stripes (because I’m kind of obsessed right now)

I seriously need to get out of this purple/blue/pink kick I’ve been on. Soon, I will do it soon. In the mean time though, it’s time for some more purple nails!

I broke down my nails (again) so it’s back to baby nails for me. To jazz them up some, I figured stripes would work to make them look longer! I don’t know if I was totally successful in my endeavour, but I do love how these look. I was partially inspired by binge-watching season two of the new 90210 and a dress that Silver was wearing.

The polishes I used for this mani were:

  • OPI I Lost My Bikini in Molokini.
  • Art Deco Nail Art striper in black
  • Art Club Nail Art Duo in white
  • Essie Good to Go
  • Butter London Matte top coat.

Just can’t stop with the matte either. No apologies there. I’m just in love with all thing matte right now! I also just scored a bottle of Essie Shine of the Times and I cannot WAIT to put a little matte top coat over it. Stay tuned!
