Sparkly Holo Purple Swirls

Hello lovelies & happy Tuesday! I hope everyone’s week is off to a good & not too stressful start so far. I finally have a day off, which is very exciting — even if today seems to be the one day in the last, like 8, that isn’t beautiful & sunny.

Oh well. I do, however, have some fun & sparkly nails from a day which was very sunny! I wore these last week during a particularly sunny day, which was perfect to show off all the holo goodness.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & Shine
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat
  • Holographic Top Coat: Starrily Eclipse
  • Essence Colour & Go Little Lila Town
  • Color Club Art Club Pink Pastel
  • Colour Club Art Club Passion flower

Originally, I hadn’t planned on adding the holographic top coat, but I’m so glad that I did because it made the whole look feel complete. & it was just so much more fun! Definitely a fun Summer look.

Also, it’s reminding me of how much I love stripers. Don’t get me wrong, I love love love all my nail art brushes & they’re wonderful. But there is just something different about one of those striper polishes. I feel like I need to get some more, again. There is just certain times when those are the brushes I need in my life, & I keep forgetting that until I use one of my old ones again. Guess that means it’s time to take a little trip to Sally Beauty!

What do you think about this nail art look? Do you enjoy these holo purple stripes? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below, & if you’d wear this nail art look.

Metallic Purple Galaxies 🌌

Hello loves — hope your week is off to a lovely start.

Today I’m sharing the look I did featuring my latest Swatch Sunday pick as the base of. I teased how excited I was to share this nail art, so I’m really excited for you to see! It’s been ages upon ages since the last time I featured a galaxy design on my nails — like 2019 or so — so this was long, long overdue.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & Shine
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat
  • Rimmel London 660 Climax
  • Essence Galaxy Flakes Rock My World
  • OPI Miss Piggy’s Big Number
  • OPI Peace Love & OPI
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Buffalo Nickel
  • Starrily Space Debris
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio
  • NailStuff.ca 4mm Micro Detail Brush
  • Latex Free Make Up Sponge (mine are random Dollarama ones)

So, full disclosure: I did these nails at like 12:30 at night, half asleep, & with horrible lighting, so they’re not perfect. But I do think the combination of colours is awesome. I love the purple on purple. My stars are a little wonky, & I’m not sure silver was the right choice for them (I probably should have went with black instead) but I do think the whole look turned out very pretty. I really do always forget just how much I love galaxy nails until I wear them again.

Plus they’re a nail art look that works just as awesome on short nails as they do on long nails.

What do you think about this galaxy nail art look? Have you done galaxy nails before? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below.

SWATCH SUNDAY — Rimmel London 660 Climax

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday!

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend & is excited for the week ahead. I’ve had a very busy 4 days, so I’m exhausted, but I did manage to take a very quick trip down memory lane for this week’s Swatch Sunday post.

Today’s pick is another super oldie from my early nail polish obsession days: Rimmel London 660 Climax. You might remember from a few years ago I featured another one of these Rimmel London shades called Pulsating, & shared how obsessed I was with them. So I thought it would be fitting to share its sister shade.

2 coast + Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat

How pretty is this purple? I love how it’s shimmery, with that beautiful pink glow. The first coat was pretty good coverage, but I found the formula needed another coat to be safe. I can’t remember how it applied back when I first bought it, so it might be an age thing (this bottle is about 12 years old) so I didn’t mind adding a second coat, & a little top coat to smooth things out very nicely. & to be truthful, for a polish that is older than my oldest nephew, I think she’s looking pretty good.

For fun, I decided to add a bit of extra sparkle with a pretty flakie topper by Essence called Essence Galaxy Flakes Rock My World.

This is one coat of Essence Galaxy Flakes Rock My World over Rimmel London 660 Climax. The flakie glitters add a pretty extra sparkle which I very much enjoy. The purple probably doesn’t show up as much over this lighter purple as it would over a darker shade, but it definitely made the perfect base for some nail art I’ll share this week!

What do you think about this nostalgic polish? Do you remember Rimmel London nail polishes? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below.

Funky Green Star Swirls

Hello lovelies & happy Wednesday!

Hope everyone’s week has been lovely so far. It’s feeling sunny & Summery lately, so I decided to step out of my nail polish safe zone with some green toned neon nails!

I think I’ve mentioned before, I don’t often wear green polish unless it’s Christmas or St. Patrick’s Day, but when I saw these two colours sitting in my stash, I thought it would be fun to pair them together.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & Shine
  • Top Coat: Essence Extreme GEL Top
  • OPI Gargantuan Green Grape
  • OPI Nature Strong Cactus What You Preach
  • UR Sugar Star Swirl Nail Vinyls

Lately I’ve been feeling a bit of a nail art rut, mostly because I’ve been lacking in time, & what time I do have I feel beyond exhausted. But, I’ve been missing using my nail vinyls a lot so I’ve been going through & trying to make an effort to use those things I haven’t in a long time — like these Star nail vinyls I received forever ago from URSugar. Originally I had thought about doing a half moon look with these colours, but the star swirls were just so much more fun!

I thought the lighters green under this pretty mint was such a pop of colour. I just really love how vibrant these are. They were really fun to wear.

What do you think of this funky green star design? Do you like this green on green colour combo? Are you feeling the neon vibes? Let me know down in the comments below!

Purple & Blue Stamped Geometric Nails

Hello lovelies & happy Tuesday! I hope it’s as sunny & beautiful where you are, as it is here in Halifax.

Today I have a fun stamped nail are look to share with you! I know… who is she? It’s been a bit since my last foray into stamping, & I was looking for a quick & easy nail art look, so I landed on this stamped pattern. & I have to say, I’m really happy with how the finished look turned out!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & Shine
  • Top Coat: Essence Extreme GEL Top
  • Essie Mint Candy Apply (blue version)
  • L’Oreal Color Riche Le Vernis Violet Vendome
  • BODICO Stamping Plate B-12
  • Nailstuff.ca clear stamper & scraper set

I was super pleased with how these turned out! I love, love, LOVED this stamping plate from BODICO, but if you remember from this (very old) review, I had a bit of trouble getting a clear pattern to show up. So I was super pleased that I got such a clear & crisp image for this design.

I absolutely adore the contrast of purple over the pale blue. It really pops! We all know blue & purple are probably two of my favourite nail polish shades, so pairing them together just makes for the perfect combination.

& this geometric pattern is just so much fun — I love that it almost looks like flowers.

What do you think about this geometric stamped design? Do you love the end result as much as I do? I always forget about my other nail art tools like my stamping plates, or even my nail vinyls, so I’m really trying to make a conscious effort to pull them out more. We will see how successful I am, haha.

Have a lovely Tuesday!
