Easy Yellow Floral Nails

Hello lovelies & happy Tuesday! How is your isolation going? So far I’ve attempted to organize baby girl’s wardrobe, watched 2 &1/2 seasons of Gossip Girl, & spent a lot of time drinking coffee & hanging out with the fam. I’ve also been organizing my nail art supplies, again, because I tend of having a habit of letting them get a bit messy in between. & while organizing my supplies, I realized it’s been a long time since I attempted using my striping polishes & nail art pens in a full manicure. Once upon a time, they used to be the main way I would draw my flowers, so I thought it would be fun to attempt a simple floral design using my old favourites.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Good Kind Pure Hardener
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • ACO by Ardene Lemon Sorbet
  • Sally Hansen I ❤️ Nail Art pen in Magenta
  • Sally Hansen I ❤️ Nail Art pen in Purple
  • Sally Hansen I ❤️ Nail Art pen in Turquoise
  • Art Club 2Way Nail Art Striper pen in Neon Green

I’m so used to using my good nail art brushes that creating my leaves & vines were more difficult than I thought they would be. I used to be absolutely obsessed with these strippers & nail art pens, & I think they’re still an amazing option for beginner nail artists or traveling as all your polish & tools are co,boned together. Is it the best floral I’ve ever done? Well, no. But I do think it’s still a very beautiful floral & I love them a lot! Plus the colour combination is very, very Springy! & I’ll take any hint of Spring I can get.

What do you think about this floral? What are you favourite nail art tools? Let me know what you think down in the comments below!

Spring-y Pastel Floral

Hello lovelies & happy Thursday. Today I’m showing off a pretty springy pastel floral, which is perfect because it’s currently 0 degrees & snowing. Ah, Spring in Canada. 🌸

Usually went I do floral I try to do a more realistic looking design, but I decided to go more simple this time & I’m really happy with how these turned out.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Good Kind Pure Hardener
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • Essie Lounge Lover
  • Essie Play Date
  • Essie Bikini So Teeny
  • Essie Mint Candy Apple
  • Essie The A-Bliss
  • NailStuff.ca Mermaid Tail Brush Trio (I used the 7mm liner brush) — use COFFEE10 to save 10% off your order

These feel very Easter-y to me, even though I hadn’t really started thinking about Easter manicures quite yet. I thought the pretty pastel shades worked really well for this look though — & I’m really how with how these flowers turned out. It took my patience, but I think they look beautiful!

Is anyone else’s hands struggling with extra dryness right now? Between extra extra hand washing & hand sanitizer when we have to venture out for groceries (or handmade Lysol wipes) I feel like I can’t keep on top of my cuticle oil or hand cream. Thank goodness I have an abundance of hand cream at home, because I’m going through it like crazy!

What do you think about this floral? Are you feeling pretty pastels? Let me know what design you would do with pastels for Spring!

Rosy Floral 🌹

Hello lovelies & happy Tuesday.

I hope everyone is having a lovely start to the week — my whole house has been struck down with the cold from hell which had NOT been fun. Thankfully, I have a pretty floral manicure to distract me the fact I feel like I’ve been struck by a truck.

For this look, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Good Kind Pure Hardener
  • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
  • Candy Coat 907
  • Sally Hansen Good Kind Pure Pink Cardamom
  • Sally Hansen GPK Eco-Rose
  • Sally Hansen GKP Beet It
  • Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Bubblegum
  • Essie Off Tropic
  • Essie First Timer
  • Essence The Green & The Grunge
  • NailStuff.ca 7mm detail brush (COFFEE10 to save 10%)
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio

I hope you’re not getting sick of the floral, because I’m certainly not sick of creating them. I need something to distract me from what feelings like the most never ending Winter (even if we haven’t really had an overwhelming amount of snow this year — definitely not complaining!)

Also I have to shout out this Candy Coat polish because I wore these floral nails for a good 5 days before they started to chip, which gives me a lot of hope for when I go back to work. Got to love a Polish you can wear for an extended amount of time without worrying about the dreaded chips. I’m interested to see how these will survive an 8 hour shift in retail!

So what do you think about these rosy floral nails? Would you like to see some more floral soon? Let me know what you think & what your favourite flower is down in the comments below!

A Pink-y Colour Block

{gifted/PR sample}

Hello lovelies & happy Thursday! Today I’ve got a beautiful colour block design to share with you, that I created using a few of the new Sally Hansen Good Kind Pure shades I received last month. I had this idea about using a few of the shades together to create a negative space geometric colour blocking look, & I’m quite excited because it turned out almost exactly like I had pictured it in my head (I love when that happens!)

For this look, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Good Kind Pure Hardener
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Good Kind Pure Top Coat
  • Sally Hansen GKP Pink Cardamom
  • Sally Hansen GPK Eco-Rose
  • Sally Hansen GKP Golden Quartz
  • NailStuff.ca Mermaid Tail Brush Trio (I used the 7mm liner brush) — use COFFEE10 to save 10% off your ord

I’m using feeling the delicate colour scheme of this manicure. I feel likes it subtle enough you could get away with it for any occasion — although I’ve never fretting too much about what I have on my nails in work situations, but I know for some people you can’t always go for crazy nail art. This look could definitely work in that kind of situation, or even if your not too keen on crazy nail art but want to give it a try.

& because I often get asked if I paint both hands, I though I’d include both hands. I almost always have both hands painted, but not always both hands with nail art. It honestly depends on how much time I think I’m going to have to do my nails & if I think I can get it done before either one of the kiddos wakes up. Because this design was pretty easy, I had no problem creating this look on both hands.

What do you think about this pink colour block? Have you ever tried a colour block design? Let me know what you think down in the comments below, & if you would try this look out yourself!

These items were gifted to me free for review. However, all opinions are my own.

Teeny Tiny Gradient Dotticure (perfect for Valentine’s Day)

{PR SAMPLE/GIFTED}

Hello lovelies & Happy Thursday!

We have one more day until Valentine’s Day, so I thought I would share a cute look that you could totally wear for the holiday — this teeny tiny gradient dotticure! I’m kind of obsessed with polka dots right now, & there is nothing I love more than a gradient dotticure. For this look, I decided to use my beautiful Sally Hansen Canada Good Kind Pure shades because I thought all the colours I received would make for a beautiful not-so-classic Valentine’s Day look.

For this look, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Good Kind Pure Hardener
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Good Kind Pure Top Coat
  • Sally Hansen GKP Beet It
  • Sally Hansen GKP Pink Cardamom
  • Sally Hansen GPK Eco-Rose
  • Sally Hansen GKP Golden Quartz
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio

Remember, you can use COFFEE10 at checkout at Nailstuff.ca to save 10% off your purchases!

How pretty are these dainty polka dots?

Also please forgive the lack of photo quality. My phone is on its last life, & trying to capture my nails in good quality is just not happening. I need a new phone, & maybe a new camera too. If you have any camera suggestions you love, let me know! I’m so ready for/in desperate need of an upgrade.

I haven’t actually decided what I’ll be wearing on my nails for tomorrow. Usually I have some elaborate idea in my head of what I want to do on my nails, but this year I’ve been distracted. We’re also traveling tomorrow to Northern New Brunswick to visit family for a couple of days, so I don’t know if I’ll have time to do anything more than a single colour. Maybe I’ll pull out one of my pink holo shades for the occasion!

What do you think about this nail art look? Have you ever done a gradient dotticure before? What is your favourite colour combination? Let me know all your thoughts in the comments below!
