A Fresh Floral

Happy Tuesday lovelies! Hope your week is off to a fantastic start. Today officially marks the last day of June, & even though I had a pretty quiet month blog wise, I’m back & going to end June with my absolute favourite thing to paint: floral. 🌸🌿 It’s actually been a hot minute since my last floral design, so I thought it was long overdue. (Plus flowers just make me so happy.)

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Essie Strong Start
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Warm Regards
  • Essie Check Your Baggage
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Malibu Peach
  • Sally Hansen MG Bourbon Babe
  • Sally Hansen MG Get Mod
  • Sally Hansen MG Black-y O
  • Essie Off Tropic
  • Essie First Timer
  • NailStuff.ca 7mm detail brush (COFFEE10 to save 10%)

I’m super obsessed with how these turned out — they actually remind me a bit of a design I did a few years ago that were inspired by a day planner of mine. But I think I love these even more! I absolutely adore rustic floral designs over something a little more realistic. Maybe because there is beauty in the imperfections. Either way, I think this design turned out so beautiful & I couldn’t stop staring at them. The peach & yellow just go so well with the red-ish base shade. I can’t get enough.

what do you think about this floral design? Are you more a fan of rustic or realistic floral? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below (& maybe share what your favourite real life flower is as well!)

Tie-Dye Nails Inspired by @BadGirlNails

Hello lovelies & Happy Wednesday.

Today I’m sharing a cute look I did a few weeks back. Tie-Dye is everywhere this year, including on nails. I haven’t yet found the perfect tie-dye sweatshirt yet, & I’m too scared to do one myself, but as soon as I saw Sonya at @badgirlnails tutorial for tie-dye nail art I knew I needed to recreate them!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Good Kind Pure Hardener
  • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Get Mod
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Malibu Peach
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Lemon Chillo
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Miami Nice
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Fuchsia Fever
  • NailStuff.ca Round Clean Up Brush (COFFEE10 saves you 10%!)
  • Pure Acetone
  • Plastic Yogurt Lid

Ahhh, I love this colour combination so much. Like, I wish I could transfer it into clothing. The Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Neons from last summer are absolutely perfect for this kind of look & feel so Summer-y. & Sonya’s tutorial she posted was so easy to follow to recreate this look, I’m definitely going to recreate with a variety of colours.

Like I said, thanks to @badgirlnails easy to follow tutorial, the look was a breeze to create! You definitely want to make sure you have an extra thick layer of top coat down before you start applying your tie-dye (so you don’t destroy your base) but other thank that this is a quick & easy look to do! & so on trend right now!

What do you think of this tie-dye look? Have you attempted tie-dye on your nails yet, or at home on clothes? Let me know any tips you have for creating your own tie-dye sweatshirts at home because I really want to give it a try (without, you know, tie-dying myself in the process!)

Tropical Florals 🌺

Good morning lovelies! & happy Thursday. I hope wherever you are reading this from, that your coffee (or tea, or energy drink, or wine) is strong, & the sun is shining. Today I’ve got a really pretty tropical floral that I did a few weeks back, which I really loved. & I feel like it’s the perfect manicure for this increasingly beautiful weather we’ve been having!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Good Kind Pure Hardener
  • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
  • Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Fiery Island
  • Sally Hansen I ♥ Nail Art Pen in Magenta
  • OPI Suzy Shops & Island Hops
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Fuchsia Fever
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Blacky-O
  • Essie Off Tropic
  • Essie First Timer
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Terra-Coppa
  • Sally Hansen I ♥ Nail Art Pen in Green
  • NailStuff.ca 7mm detail brush (COFFEE10 to save 10%)

As you guys have seen, I love a good floral but I tend to have a certain trend — it’s mostly roses or a similar style. But lately I’ve been really trying to improve my skill with different florals, which is why I wanted to try out a tropical inspired look. It’s definitely out of more comfort zone, & takes a bit more talent to create, but the end result looks jsut beautiful! & it’s fun to try something I don’t feel like I’m that awesome at. Plus, you know, wearing the same style floral over & over can get a bit monotonous, so it’s nice to switch things up a bit!

Also this look definitely makes me want to pull out my favourite tropical print dress to wear! & since it’s supposed to be feeling very Summery today, that’s exactly what I might do!

What do you think about this tropical floral? Is the weather feeling like Summer where you are? Let me know down in the comments below!

Purple & Mint Chevron Moons

Hello lovelies & happy Tuesday. Another new week is here, & for the first time in months I feel like Spring might actually be really here. Our flowers are ever starting to bloom in our front gardens! So it’s inspiring me to pull out all the pastel, Spring-y shades I can find. 🌸

You know how much I love my chevron moons, so I decided it would be fun to pair a few shades I don’t wear to often. After my browse through my nail polish stash, I decided I should really make a better attempt at wearing more of my nail polishes.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Good Kind Pure Hardener
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint
  • China Glaze Ever Glaze Don’t Grape About It
  • Kiss Products Nail Art Striper in White

It’s been a while since I attempted to freehand a chevron moon, but I think my hands are getting steadier because they turned out pretty good! I used to do them all the time, before I had nail vinyls in my life. & while I do love the precision that nail vinyls give, sometimes I’m too impatient to wait for my base colour to dry. This was one of the moments, & I’m so happy that I didn’t muck them up! Because I’m absolutely in love with the end result.

Who doesn’t love a good chevron moon? Just look at that combo. The purple & green, the clean lines. I’m just really digging this design.

What do you think about these chevron moons? What Spring polishes have you been wearing most often lately? Let me know down in the comments below!

Another Spring-y Floral Accent Nail

Hello lovelies & happy Thursday!

This past weekend we had some beautiful weather, & looking in our gardens you can see greenery beginning to pop through the soil, so if there is any benefit to this current situation, it is the fact that there will be lots of time to enjoy our yard very soon! It also inspired me to do MORE floral nails!

For this look, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: UNT Ready For Take Off (I got mine from NailStuff.ca — remember to use my code for 10% off: COFFEE10)
  • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
  • Pure Ice Boysenberry
  • Essie Fall for NYC
  • Essie Set in Sandstone
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Birthday Suit
  • Sally Hansen MG Blacky-O
  • Essie Off Tropic
  • Essie First Timer
  • NailStuff.ca Mermaid Tail Brush Trio (I used my favourite brush: the 7mm liner brush)

After my Swatch Sunday post featuring untrieds on Sunday (including Deborah Lippmann Polka Dots & Moonbeams) I’ve been really trying to wear shades either I haven’t worn in a very long time, or maybe I’ve never worn. Boysenberry was a shade I bought when all the speckled egg polishes were coming out, but I think I’ve only worn a handful of times. It’s very springy, & the pale purple base is perfect for Spring!

Can I just say how much I adore how these little yellow flowers turned out. 🌼 Makes me hopeful for brighter days ahead, even if our reality right now is… very stressful & very scary. Right now I’m just going to stay home & concentrate on the things that make me happy, & that includes my vast collection of nail polish & painting my nails.

What do you guys think about this floral accent nail? What other flowers would you like to see me attempt? I think I’ve perfected my roses, so I am going to try & branch out into other floral varieties! Next up — going to attempt some tulips! But let me know down in the comments below what floral I should try next, or even what flower is your favourite!
