Glam Nails Challenge March — Chevrons

Hello loves & Happy Monday!

A chilly March Monday at that, which is why some Spring colours are definitely needed right now. Today, I have the next prompt for Glam Nails Challenge March which is chevrons. & we all know, I love me some chevrons. I decided to take inspiration from a design I did a few years ago, but with a more pastel/Spring colour scheme.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Good. Kind. Pure Hardener
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Tutu the Ballet
  • Sally Hansen MG Crying Out Cloud
  • OPI Two Timing the Zones
  • L’Oréal Jardin Des Roses
  • L’Oréal Pistache Royale
  • Sally Hansen MG Get Mod
  • NailStuff.ca 4mm Micro Detail Brush

I love the messy feel of these chevrons. It kind of reminds me a bit of tie dye as well, which I really like. Is tie dye still cool?

The girls at work said they reminded them a bit of Easter eggs, which wasn’t quite the look I was going for, but that’s okay. I guess you can put these on the list of manicures perfect for Easter as well. Truthfully, I’m just loving these pastel shades right now, which means I’m very ready for Spring to be here.

What do you think of these chevron nails? Do you like the messy tie dye feel of them? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below, & if you would wear these nails too!

Glam Nails Challenge March — Geometric

Hello lovelies & happy Wednesday! It’s officially half way through the week, & honestly it feels like it’s speeding by. Maybe because this week has had hints of Spring, not just Winter storm after winter storm.

Today I have a fun & funky nail art look to share for Glam Nails Challenge March. Today’s prompt is Geometric, & it’s definitely been a while since my last geometric design, so I was definitely excited to get creative! I used to love coming up with designs like this, so it was fun to get a little old school with my nail art.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Good. Kind. Pure Hardener
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • OPI Where Did Suzi’s Man-go
  • Dimensions Nails Blue Morpho Butterfly
  • Quo Beauty Flash Dry Loud & Proud
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Lacey Lilac
  • Starrily Vantablack
  • NailStuff.ca 7mm detail brush

How much fun are these? I love them because the colours aren’t necessarily ones that I would normally pair together, but they’re so much fun! It’s definitely a more striking look than I’ve been wearing lately, & just felt so much fun on my nails. Plus the black looks really good as the outline.

Honestly, when I was doing these I really wasn’t sure if I was going to like them, which happens sometimes, but when they were all finished, they made me so happy. Does that ever happen to anyone else? You’re in the middle of your mani & you’re like “I’m not sure I’m going to like these…” but then when you’re finished, you’re just so in love. Maybe I’m the only one.

What do you think of this geometric look for Glam Nails Challenge March? Would you wear this design? Are you fan of bold nail art looks like this? Let me know down in the comments below!

Glam Nails Challenge March — Hearts 💚

Hello lovelies & happy Monday! It’s a brand new, fresh week. Hopefully this one will be warmer & more Spring-like (although, I’ll be honest… my hopes are not too high.)

But — I have a brand new look for Glam Nails Challenge March, & I’m excited. The prompt is hearts. Originally I had a completely different heart look done, but I’ll be honest: I was not feeling it. & it did not photograph well. So I did what any crazy person does… I completely redid the manicure at the very last second. & I absolutely adore how they turned out!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Good. Kind. Pure Hardener
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • Wrenn Polish I Know Guac is Extra
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Tutu the Ballet
  • Sally Hansen MG Crying Out Cloud
  • OPI Two Timing the Zones
  • L’Oréal Jardin Des Roses
  • L’Oréal Pistache Royale
  • NailStuff.ca 4mm Micro Detail Brush

I’m calling this look Spring Floral Heart, & it turned out exactly how I pictured in my head. This was originally what I thought about doing, but decided to go with a dry marble heart look, which was kind of ugly, so I’m glad I switched back to my original idea.

These were actually pretty easy to do. I started by freehanding my green heart, then added a few tiny flowers & finished off with some green leaf details. & it turned out so beautiful & Spring-y. This is definitely a look I will be attempting again because it’s just lovely!

I mean, how beautiful would this be as a wedding manicure?

What do you think of this floral heart look for my next Glam Nails Challenge March?

Not-so-Simple Red & Gold

Good morning lovelies & happy Friday! & happy almost weekend. Today I’m sharing a manicure I did recently which was quick & easy, & got a lot of compliments!

Originally I was just planning on wearing the base, but decided I needed more than just simple red nails, so I added the stripe & gold. & I love it! Plus this whole look was completed in under 30 minutes from base coat to dry.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Good. Kind. Pure Hardener
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Cherry Delightful
  • Layla Cosmetics Ceramic Effect in Shade 53
  • Essie Mosaic On Down
  • NailStuff.ca 16mm Striper Brush

Again, these were so simple to do! The hardest part was trying to make sure that I had my lines in the middle of my nails & they were straight. I know I could have used nail vinyls, but lately I feel like I’m more inclined to hand paint my nails over vinyls (or even stamping) because there is less waiting around for my base to dry.

What do you think about this design? Do you like this not-so-simple red & gold look. I think this would look awesome in a variety of different colour schemes. I’m already picturing a pastel/spring coloured look in my head as I write this!

Deep & Dark Chrevron Half Moons 🌙

Hello lovelies & happy Tuesday.

I hope everyone had a lovely start to their week! I worked a crazy day at work yesterday, thanks to the holiday, so I legit feel hungover even though I didn’t have anything but coffee to drink! It’s going to be a 3 or 4 coffee kind of day.

But in the meantime, how about some fun nails? I actually did these nails back in… October, November (I think?) but for some reason didn’t get around to posting them. Which is actually a shame because look how beautiful they are! You know how much I love chevron moons, & I adore all the details on these ones.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Millionails
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • Sally Hansen InstaDri Cinna-Snap
  • Sally Hansen InstaDri Night Drive
  • Essie Mosaic On Down
  • Chevron nail vinyls
  • NailStuff.ca 7mm detail brush

How pretty are these with the addition of the gold lines? I remember thinking these were so, so beautiful when I wore them, which is why I still can’t understand why I never got a chance to post them. Sometimes that happens, or — even worse — I’ll do a manicure I adore, but then wreck it before I have a chance to get pictures of it! That one always breaks my heart the most.

I feel like I haven’t done my chevron moons in a while, so I think I’ve been inspired to do another one very, very soon. Maybe one featuring some very beautiful Spring shades? Feeling inspired!

What do you think of this chevron moon design? Would you wear a look like this? Do you like the combination of colours with the maroon, navy blue & gold?

Leave me a comment down below, & let me know what you think of this look!
