Cosy Autumn Plaid🧣

Hello lovelies & happy Friday! & happy Thanksgiving Weekend to my fellow Canadians celebrating this weekend. It’s officially shifted into Fall weather (almost in overdrive) & the days are feeling cool, & the leaves are feeling crunchy!

Today’s look is one I’ve done a million (plus) times, but still remains a favourite. Nothing screams Autumn to me more than a plaid nail art look.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen InstaDri Top Coat (red bottle)
  • Base Coat: Essie Hard to Resist (purple)
  • NailStuff.ca Essentials Raven *pr
  • OPI Icelanded A Bottle of OPI
  • Color Club What’s The Matte-r
  • OPI I Cannoli Wear OPI
  • Revlon Devine
  • NailStuff.ca 16mm Striper Brush

I wanted to start off with a super dark base, so I went with my bottle of NailStuff Essentials Raven. Such a good black! (& I’ve been loving black lately.) Then using my other colours, I layered on lines to create the woven plaid look. Super easy, & comes out beautifully.

GLAM NAILS CHALLENGE DECEMBER (2024) — Christmas Plaid

Hello loves & happy Monday! It’s a sunny albeit chilly Monday here. Definitely feeling like December — although a sprinkling of snow might have been nice. But today is the next prompt for Glam Nails Challenge December, & it is Christmas plaid.

I’m not 100% sure what a Christmas plaid is, though I would assume one done in your typical Christmas colours would make sense. So that’s what I did for today’s look! & they are certainly feeling Christmas-y.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: NailStuff Essentials Base Coat *
  • Top Coat: Nail Stuff Essentials Quick Dry Top Coat *
  • Santee Magnetic Nail Polish Sandburst
  • Essie Bordeaux*
  • Essie Off Tropic *
  • NailStuff Essentials White Dove *
  • Quo by Orly Black Striper
  • Nailstuff.ca Mermaid Tail 7mm liner brush
  • Largest size from NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio

*PR/gifted

Ooooh I love how these look. I tried to give this magnetic shade a velvet finish. Honestly think I might have to invest in one of those fancy U-shaped magnets in the new year if I’m going to be playing with my magnet shades more frequently.

I love the hold with the plaid pattern over top, as opposed to using the gold as an accent.

GLAM NAILS CHALLENGE DECEMBER — Christmas Plaid

Good morning lovelies & happy Wednesday! & happy Day two of Glam Nails Challenge December. Also… can you believe it’s December 7th? I mean… it’s raining here on the East Coast & above freezing so it certainly doesn’t feel anything close to December. At least I have Christmas nails to keep me in a somewhat festive mood.

But onto the nails — prompt #2 is Christmas Plaid. I do love a good plaid manicure, & for today’s look I decided to go with a sparkly plaid design.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & Shine
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-chip Top Coat
  • Quo Beauty Green With Envy
  • ACO by Ardene Crystal Fog
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Red It Twice
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Get Mod
  • China Glaze New Year, New Boo
  • W7 Gold Dazzle
  • Mermaid Tail Nail Brush Trio (11mm Liner Brush)

Originally I thinking of a sparkly green plaid, but as soon as I put Crystal Fog over Green with Envy it gave it a teal/turquoise colour instead. But I decided to go with it, & I think all the sparkly lines still give it the Christmas Plaid look I was hoping for. & I do love all the sparkle & shimmer of the look. If there is any time to break out the glitter, it’s obviously Christmas.

What do you think about my Christmas plaid design? What colour combination would you wear for a Christmas plaid. I feel like usually I go for more a red look, but I’ve been wearing a lot of red nails lately (& I’m sure there will be more!) so it’s fun to change things up a bit.

Don’t forget to check out all the fun #glamnailschallengedec looks on Instagram, & stay tuned because we have a whole lot more Christmas-y looks coming in the next few weeks!

Cozy Plaid Nails

Hello lovelies & happy Friday! I know, a post on a Friday… I’m feeling crazy. But I have a few cute Autumn nail art looks I haven’t yet posted, so I thought I would try to sneak a few in between Glam Nails Challenge looks.

Today is a simple look, but a repeat favourite. Plaid nails! I’ve been doing this style of nail art a long time, & I never get tired of them. They just make a plain colour a little more fun. Plus, obviously plaid screams Fall as well.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & Shine
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Fast Dry Top Coat
  • Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Berry Fancy
  • Sally Hansen InstaDri Midnight Drive
  • Sally Hansen InstaDri Pedal to the Metal
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Blacky-O
  • NailStuff.ca 16mm Striper Brush

This look was super easy to do. Nails painted a simple colour, & then just (carefully) paint some straight lines along the nail to create your plaid pattern. There are definitely a few different ways you can create a plaid pattern, but this is definitely my favourite way to do it. Plus, it’s probably the easiest way to create them as well.

Autumn Plaid 🍂🍁

Hello lovelies & happy Wednesday! & happy first day of Fall! It’s true — Summer is officially over. Which means we are just that much closer to Halloween.

Today I thought I would celebrate the occasion with some plaid nails. This has basically become a yearly tradition (in fact, I posted another plaid on this date last year), & this year I decided on some neutral toned plaid.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie First Base
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • China Glaze The Snuggle is Real
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Get Mod
  • Starrily Vantablack
  • Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Zip Wine
  • Color Club Art Club Pink Pastel
  • NailStuff.ca 16mm Striper Brush

I decided to go with China Glaze The Snuggle Is Real for my base shade, because bit is such a lovely neutral, & then added the little bits of pink & maroon for accents. I think this colour scheme is a perfect every day plaid look, & I got so many compliments on it when I wore it to work! It was very exciting.
