Groovy 60s Instagram Nail Art Collab

Hello lovelies & happy Friday! I hope you’ve had a beautiful week so far. & I hope anyone who’s being affected by the current storm down the coast is safe & dry.

Today, I’m excited because I finally had the time (& motivation) to join in another Instagram Nail Art collab hosted by @essieyall & @petitenaillover on Instagram! This month’s theme was: Groovy 60s, & if there is anything I love, it’s anything 1960s! So I was beyond excited to join in on this collaboration.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: LA Colors Mega Grow Treatment
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • Essie No Ex-pectations
  • Essie Revenge’s a Beach
  • Essie Bustling Bazaar
  • Essie Set in Sandstone
  • Essie Butler Please
  • Nailstuff.ca Mermaid Tail 7mm liner brush

Oh man, these turned out so much better than I could have ever imagined. It’s exactly the look I was hoping it would be. I love the colours, the swirls, the flowers; it’s just as groovy as I hoped it would be! I just love it. & obviously, it’s always fun to join another group of nail artists, & see what everyone does with the prompt!

What do you think of this fun groovy nail art look? Would you wear this look? You can see all the gorgeous designs by checking out #groovynailartmanicollab2024 on Instagram!

GLAM NAILS CHALLENGE AUGUST (2024) — Moroccan Tile

Hello lovelies & happy Wednesday! I hope you’re having a beautiful week. Today is the 2nd prompt of Glam Nails Challenge August & I’m very, very excited for this prompt & manicure! The next prompt is Moroccan Tile & I think this stamped design perfectly incapsulates that!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: LA Colors Mega Grow Treatment
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • Joe Fresh Quartz
  • Essie No More Film
  • Starrily Space Debris
  • Born Pretty Store stamping plate B-12
  • Nailstuff.ca clear stamper & scraper set
  • NailStuff.ca dotting tool from Dotting Tool Trio

Oooooh I’m so so so in love with this manicure! It turned out so much better than I even imagined it could be. Sadly, the new base coat I used did not agree with my body chemistry so these started popping off (the full nail!) half way through work! To say I was devastated would be an understatement — I had fully intended to wear these for a few days.

Thankfully, I still got some great pictures of this design. 🖤

What do you think of this Moroccan Tile design? Do you love them as much as I do? I hope you’ll keep following along with the challenge this month & all the fun designs I’ll be sharing. You can also follow along with the hashtag #glamnailschallengeaug24 on Instagram.

Enjoy your Wednesday!

Navy & Purple Half Moons

Hello lovelies & happy Thursday! A cloudy, humid Thursday at that. Today though, I have another manicure to share that I recently wore & in a big fan of this one!

Half moons are always a favourite of mine, & lately I’ve been finding myself drawn to some darker shades. Yes, I know that it’s still mid-Summer, but I would be lying if I didn’t hear the distance call of Autumn. I feel like this look is a good balance between Summer with the perfect hint of Autumn vibes.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Here to Stay
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Purple Pizzaz
  • Sally Hansen InstaDri Midnight Drive
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Fuchsia Fever
  • Circle paper hole reinforcements
  • NailStuff.ca dotting tool from Dotting Tool Trio

This is definitely easy in terms of technique, which I always appreciate, but it looks really fancy (in my opinion.) I definitely have been feeling the call of my darker polishes, but I’m trying my best to hold off — at least until pumpkin spice gets launched. But this look definitely scratched my Autumn polish itch.

What do you think about this half moon look? Do you like this design? Are already feeling the call of Autumn vibes? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below.

Under the Sea Stamped Nail Art 🪸🌊

Hello lovelies & happy Wednesday. Sorry for a quiet week so far — with the kids being off school, sometimes it’s hard to get my posts done!

But I’m really excited to share my nails today, because I feel like these are really fun! I originally started out with just my gradient nails, but felt like something was missing so I added some fun stamping—that reminded me of sea weed—over top.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Here to Stay
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • CND Vinylux Lost Labyrinth
  • Icing Stores Starlight
  • Icing Stores Black
  • Born Pretty Store Stamping Plate BP-L026
  • Nailstuff.ca clear stamper & scraper set

Does that not look like seaweed, under the water? If only I had some cute fish nail art stickers strategically added, then I would really sell the ocean vibes! But I still think the stamping gave the look I was going for.

What do you think of these stamped nails? Did you guess ocean? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!

Dainty Red Dotticure ♥️

Good morning lovelies, happy Tuesday & happy July! We’re officially 1/2 way through the year, & that just seems insane to me. It’s officially Summer vacation for my kids, which means the free time to myself I have (when they’re not asleep) becomes much more limited!

So simple nail art becomes a bit more necessary. But simple does not need to mean boring, & I feel like today’s look is anything but boring!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Here to Stay
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • Essie She’s Pampered
  • Sally Hansen I ♥️ Nail Art pen in pink
  • Color Club Top Shelf
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio (tiniest size)

This beautiful polish is another thrift store score that I was not expecting, but I quite love. It looks much more pink in the bottle, but on my nail it’s giving all the way red. But I’ll never say no to a red nail polish — that is well established by now.

I added some pink polka dots over my base shade, with a colour sparkly ones just for fun! I think this look turned out chic & classic, but it’s also fun. From far away you get red nails, but up close you get the full fun look. & I love a nail art design like that! Polka dots were one of the first designs I ever taught myself, & they remain one of my favourites.

What do you think about this chic dainty dotticure? Are you a fan of a subtle look like this? Let me know what you think in the comments below & please — PLEASE — let me know any nail art looks you’d like to see me attempt!
