GLAM NAILS CHALLENGE OCTOBER — Ghosts 👻

Hello lovelies & happy Tuesday. I know I usually post my Glam Nails Challenge Sunday prompts on Monday, but we were on a long drive yesterday & I totally forgot to write down what shades I used for my nails before we went away haha. So I had to wait until I was back home before I could write up my post — silly, silly me.

The next prompt for Glam Nails Challenge is ghosts! & I was super pumped for this prompt. I always have fun coming up with ghosty looks, & this manicure was no different.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & Shine
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Fast Dry Top Coat
  • Essie Chocolate
  • CND Crimson Sparkle
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Get Mod!
  • OPI After Alter
  • Starrily Vantablack
  • NailStuff.ca 7mm detail brush

How cute did these little ghosties turn out? I’m absolutely obsessed with how they turned out. Ghosts are one of those nails are you can do in so many different styles, but I really like the contrast of the white over the burgundy base, with those sparkles & flakes — gives it a ghostly appearance. Plus the colour is just lovely — even if it’s not traditionally Halloween.

Oh man, I’m having so much fun with this prompt, even if this month is turning out to be a bit busier than I had originally intended. But that’s okay! This is definitely the nail art challenge I did to get my creative nail art juices flowing.

SWATCH SUNDAY — OPI Peace, Love & OPI

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday. & happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians. I hope you all get a chance to celebrate however you prefer — whether that is turkey, Tofurky or pizza!

Today, though, it’s all about Swatch Sunday, & I’m sharing a fun old school shade from OPI dating back to OPI Fall/Winter San Fransisco collection from 2013. This is OPI Peace Love & OPI, a beautiful charcoal grey metallic with a fun teal purple duo chrome effect.

2 coats + Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure

The formula on this beauty isn’t too hard, though it does have a bit of streakiness to it, which I found is alleviated with some top coat. The colour is beautiful — it reminds me a lot of Essie For The Twill of It which is another silver/grey favourite I used to wear quite a bit. & I do love a good duo/multi chrome effect, although I found it didn’t quite show up as much in my photos as it does in person.

A little macro shot action. You can really see the teal & purple here.

This shade has been in my stash a long, long time. I think, at least 6 years — it has a white spot on its lid, which says to me I bought it on clearance at Chatters. When I worked close to one, I used to love checking out the clearance section because they always had the most amazing deals on polishes!

What do you think about this shade from OPI? Do you have Peace Love & OPI in your own stash? Let me know what your favourite metallic grey polish is down in the comments below.

Have a lovely Sunday.

Cozy Plaid Nails

Hello lovelies & happy Friday! I know, a post on a Friday… I’m feeling crazy. But I have a few cute Autumn nail art looks I haven’t yet posted, so I thought I would try to sneak a few in between Glam Nails Challenge looks.

Today is a simple look, but a repeat favourite. Plaid nails! I’ve been doing this style of nail art a long time, & I never get tired of them. They just make a plain colour a little more fun. Plus, obviously plaid screams Fall as well.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & Shine
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Fast Dry Top Coat
  • Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Berry Fancy
  • Sally Hansen InstaDri Midnight Drive
  • Sally Hansen InstaDri Pedal to the Metal
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Blacky-O
  • NailStuff.ca 16mm Striper Brush

This look was super easy to do. Nails painted a simple colour, & then just (carefully) paint some straight lines along the nail to create your plaid pattern. There are definitely a few different ways you can create a plaid pattern, but this is definitely my favourite way to do it. Plus, it’s probably the easiest way to create them as well.

What do you think about this nail art look? Do you like plaid nail art? Are my fellow Canadians excited about Thanksgiving this weekend? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!

GLAM NAILS CHALLENGE OCTOBER— Scary Pumpkins

Hello lovelies & happy Wednesday! & happy prompt #2 of Glam Nails Challenge October! I’m loving this challenge so much already — it really plays into my spooky heart.

Today’s prompt is Scary Pumpkins. 🎃 Although, my pumpkins definitely turned out a little less scary, & a little more cute. Oh well, it’s the thought that counts haha.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & Shine
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Fast Dry Top Coat
  • China Glaze Spice to Meet You
  • Starrily Eclipse
  • Starrily Vantablack
  • NailStuff.ca 7mm detail brush

I had this idea about holo pumpkins, & I really like Starrily Eclipse over China Glaze Spice to Meet You from last years China Glaze Fall collection. It gave me the perfect holographic base for my “scary” pumpkin faces. I also love the sparkle. I’m definitely going through a holo & sparkle faze right now.

& my thumb, because I really like how his face turned out.

Are you following along with Glam Nails Challenge October, & the prompts so far. You can follow #glamnailschallengeoct on Instagram for all the fun prompts to come. I’m really looking forward to creating some new nail art looks for this year, so stay tuned! There is a reason October is my favourite month!

Have an awesome day lovelies!

GLAM NAILS CHALLENGE OCTOBER— Black Cats 🐈‍⬛

Hello lovelies & happy Monday! & happy first prompt of Glam Nails Challenge October! It’s been a while since I participated in one of these challenges, so naturally I had to jump back in for my absolute favourite month because it’s all about my favourite holiday: Halloween!

First prompt this month: Black Cats.

This one has a special place in my heart because not only do I adore black cats in general, but we recently lost our own black cat. So I was very excited to do a special black cat manicure.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & Shine
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Fast Dry Top Coat
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Purple Craze
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Knighttime
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Stargazer Lily
  • Starrily Vantablack
  • OPI DS Extravagance
  • Bodico Stamping Plate B-20
  • NailStuff.ca Clear Stamper & Scraper
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio

How cute is this stamping plate? These aren’t very spooky black cats, haha, but that’s okay I like my cute little kitties with sparkly collars. I thought about trying to paint some tiny little witch hats on my kitties, but I was so scared of messing them up, I decided to go for a pretty kitty look instead of a spooky one. Plus there is still lots of time left for spooky nail art looks — & there are lots of spooky nail art looks to come!

What do you think about this nail art look? Have you started planning your Halloween nail art looks? Are you as pumped as I am for another round of Glam Nails Challenge October? Let me know down in the comments below!
