White & Purple Drag Marble 💜

Good Morning lovelies & happy Tuesday! Hope everyone had a fantastic beginning to their week.

Today I’m showing off some brand new nails & a design I haven’t done in a while: drag marble. I literally couldn’t remember the last time I attempted one–I’ve been trying so many awesome marbling techniques–that it felt like a good time to give an old favourite another try!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: OPI Nail Envy
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Lets Snow
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Just Maui’d
  • Color Club Eternal Beauty
  • Bundle Monster drag tool.

Drag marbles were my first foray into marble nails because they seemed like the least messy option! Definitely takes a bit of practice to keep your nails from looking swampy (or one colour completely taking over the entire nail!) but once you get that down, the end result can be stunning!

Of all my nails, I think my ring finger probably turned out the best, followed by my middle finger. Sadly, I was using a more than half empty bottle of top coat, so there were way too many bubbles happening… but I guess that helps add to the marble effect! & thankfully you can’t really see them from far away. It was just me they bothered immensely.

What do you think of this drag marble design? What’s your favourite marble technique? Let me know all your thoughts down below!

Floral & Holo

Holy how is it July already? Seriously, it feels like just yesterday I was posting Christmas designs & now it’s hot & humid & I’m so excited I can finally pull out all my fun Summer dresses to wear without needing leggings underneath. I’ve been rocking a lot of floral lately… especially on the nails.

I know that it doesn’t matter what time of year it is, I’m pretty much always going to rock floral. But when the sun is shining & the temps are climbing, wearing floral just feels right!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: OPI Nail Envy
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • NailStuff.ca holo powder (applied over Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Rose to the Occasion)
  • Essie Playdate
  • Color Club Pucci-licious
  • Sally Hansen CSM Killer Heels
  • Sally Hansen CSM Red It Online
  • Sally Hansen CSM Rose To the Occasion
  • Sally Hansen CSM Blush Against The World
  • Sally Hansen I ♥️ Nail Art pen in green
  • Quo by ORLY Second Hand Jade
  • Bundle Monster small detail brush
  • Bundle Monster small & large dotting tool

Oh man, this holo powder from NailStuff.ca is one of my all time favourites. Easy to apply & such a strong holo look. I never thought of using it as a base for nail art, but it was the perfect base for this floral. Plus in the sunlight…. oh, in the sunlight. I’ve been obsessing over wearing holo nails on good days because it’s so distracting! I would be lying if I said I didn’t get caught staring at my nails once or twice (or five times) while wearing this mani!

what do you think of this design? Are you a fan of a holo base for nail art? Share your thoughts in the comments below & let me know what you think. ♥️

SWATCH SUNDAY — New Polish from Wrenn Polish (& an old favourite too!)

Happy Sunday lovelies! & happy Canada Day 🇨🇦 to all my Canadian followers! I hope everyone is surviving the heat we’re currently experiencing across the country.

Today’s Swatch Sunday post is an exciting one. I recently received some new beauties from Alissa at Wrenn Polish. She just released a brand new polish called Summer Sands which is a sandy tan holo & restocked one of her popular shades Happy Thoughts! & I was lucky enough to receive both gorgeous shades to add to my growing Wrenn Polish collection.

*PR SAMPLE* Some of these items were sent to me for review. However, all opinions are my own

SWATCH SUNDAY— Crafting a Layered Green Holo

Happy Swatch Sunday lovelies!

Today is a bit of a different post for me–instead of featuring single polishes on their own today, I’m showing off 3 polishes layered together to create one amazing look!

I’ve been really loving layering polishes together–it’s similar to creating franken shades only instead of mixing everything together, your layering one on top of another. Obviously this could only really work with layering more sheer shades over more opaque ones (which works well with a lot of the Layla Cosmetics hologram effect polishes I own.)

For this particular look I started with 2 base coats of Essie Turquoise & Caicos & then layered a coat of Layla Cosmetics Jade Groove over top. I’ve worn this Holo on its own but found it didn’t have enough of a green/mint pop to it on the nail. By adding some undies, it really showed off the colour I wanted. & then, because I’m absolutely Holo obsessed right now I finished off with a layer of Quo by ORLY Trash Glam (aka. ORLY Sparkling Garbage for my non-Canadian friends!) The end result is a whole lot of holo happening on the nail.

Seriously, this is a distracting amount of sparkle happening on the nail. In the sunshine, it was actually incredible how many rainbows you could see.

I love how you get the linear holo from Jade Groove but then the scattered holo from Trash Glam picks up the light too & it’s absolutely memorizing! I definitely need to find a linear holo top coat so I can transform every polish I own into a Holo Polish too! Let me know what your favourite ones are!

I hope everyone had an amazing Sunday. 💚✨

SWATCH SUNDAY — Sally Hansen Salon Chrome in Holographic

Good Morning! I hope Daylight Savings time didn’t throw off you too much. Our little guy was up at 5 am, so today is going to be an extra espresso shot kind of day. Before that though I have a fun Swatch Sunday post to share with you! Today I’m sharing this Salon Chrome kit from Sally Hansen.

You might remember these kits popping up on Instagram when they were released back in early Fall 2017! This was right around the time powders were hitting peak popularity, so naturally Sally Hansen came up with their version featuring their Miracle Gel polishes. I was super curious about them when they first came out, but sadly the price ($38 at my local Pharmacy) was just a little too much to splurge on. Luckily, I was shopping for groceries at Superstore back in late February & found a few of the kits in the clearance section, so obviously I had to pick it up to try!
