Unicorn Inspired Gradient 🦄

So by now you’ve probably been introduced to the Unicorn Frappuccino that Starbucks released yesterday. I know it completely blew up my Instagram & Facebook feeds… everyone & their grandma was showing off the drink on social media. Personally I have no interest in trying it–not a fan of frapuccinos (too much sugar), I can’t have any dairy so no whip cream, & there isn’t even any coffee in it! But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to join in the unicorn fun, so I took inspiration from the colours of the drink to create a Unicorn inspired gradient!

For this manicure, I used:

  • Base Coat: Perfect Formula Pink Gel Coat
  • Top Coat: Cutex Quick Dry Top Coat
  • Sally Hansen X-treme Wear Orchid Around
  • Sally Hansen X-treme Wear Royal Hue
  • China Glaze Fairy Dust
  • Latex Free cosmetic sponge (purchased at Dollarama)
  • Born Pretty Store Peel off Liquid Tape

It’s been so long–too long–since I played around with a gradient, so I’m a little rusty. But I’m pretty happy with how these turned out. The colours might not exactly match its inspiration, but I thought it was a good attempt. It would have been more fun if I had one of those cute unicorn stencils (I think they’re by Twinkled-T) to add a holo glitter unicorn on my ring finger, but with a little Fairy Dust added it still has that magical feel.

Have you tried Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino yet? Does it taste as magical as it looks? Part of me wants to order one just to take a picture of it with my nails (because I’m silly like that) but that would be a serious waste of money that could be better spent (on coffee, for example). Oh well, when you can’t drink it, why not wear it in your nails!

What do you think of this gradient? Do you see the inspiration? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below! 🦄

Floral nails featuring a whole lot of #EssieLove

Good Morning & Happy Mothers Day to all the Mom’s (&Fur Moms!) out there!

When I was a little girl, we always used to give my Mom breakfast & flowers on Mother’s Day morning. & Even though my Mom lives far away now, I always think about those Mother’s Days we had as a kid. So in honor of Mother’s Day, I thought I would share some floral nails I did last week.

The polishes I used for this manicure were:

  • Essie Brides No Grooms
  • Essie Tuck it in my Tux
  • Essie Lounge Lover
  • Essie Sunshine State of Mind
  • Essie First Timer
  • Essie Gel Setter
  • Small detail brush from Born Pretty Store

Have a great day everyone!

Polka Dot and Herringbone nails inspired by @thebasecoat.

I gave another pretty manicure to share inspired by one of my fellow nail artists in Instagram: @thebasecoat. She posted this herringbone and polka dot manicure a few weeks back and I thought it was so adorable I really wanted to recreate it!

The polishes I used for this manicure were:

  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Gunmetal
  • QUO by ORLY Striper in White
  • China Glaze Rain Dance the Night Away.
  • Sally Hansen Pacific Blue (original formula)
  • Seche Vite

What do you think of this mani? I got a ton of compliments at work when I wore it!

I’m still getting used to my short nails but trying to make them feel pretty as much as possible!

Purple and gold x-pattern nails.

I’ve been seeing these x-pattern gradient nails popping up on Instagram a lot lately so I wanted to give them a try. Obviously striping tape wasn’t going to happen, so I decided to try freehanding them!

The polishes I used for this manicure were:

  • China Glaze Pondering
  • OPI Black Cherry Chutney
  • Stripe Rite Striping Polish in Gold
  • Seche Vite

It took some serious patience to create the x-pattern, but I’m so happy (and SO proud) with how this mani turned out!

Bestie Twin Nails with @jazzynailedit

Good morning loves! I had the opportunity to do another Bestie Twin Nails manicure with one of my very talented fellow nail artists @jazzynailedit! We created a floral based on a manicure originally done by @justagirlandhernails, just gave it a Fall spin!

Aren’t Jasmine’s flowers amazing?! You should definitely check out here page if your on Instagram! Her nails are always impeccable!

For my version of this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • ACO by Ardene Day Dreamer
  • OPI Just BeClaus
  • China Glaze High Hopes
  • Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow
  • Seche Vite

I created all my little flowers using a small dotting tool which was surprisingly easier than I thought it was going to be!

What do you think of this Fall mani?  I’ve been trying to come up with new seasonal manicure inspiration! I’m just really excited to start Halloween manicures!

Have a great day loves!
