Beachy Chevron Nails featuring New Summery Studs from NailStuff.ca

Good morning lovelies & happy Tuesday! Hope the weather where you are is nicer than here in Halifax. After a few days of sunshine, we’re back to cloudy grey overcast skies. But today’s nail design is all about bright colours, so hopefully that will cheer me up!

Today I’m sharing these drag marble chevron nails that for some reason remind me of the beach! I was recently gifted some amazing new goodies from NailStuff.ca & I knew immediately that I had to use some of the beautiful summery studs Victoria had sent! I love how flat & easy to work with these studs are. They sit easily on the nail & because I sealed them in with extra top coat there were no edges you don’t have to worry about catching them on anything & pulling them off prematurely.

For this manicure, the products I used were:

I’m really living the pastel shades form this 6 pack set from Claire’s. I picked it up on payday & used every shade with the exception of coral. Also I love how these studs from NailStuff just brings the whole look together & completes the Summery vibe. For my chevrons, I used the drag brush effect to blend the colours together. I used to do this technique a lot with nail vinyls, but it had been a while.

What do you think of this design? How adorable are these studs from NailStuff.ca? What kind of designs would you do with these Beachy studs? Let me know in the comments below!

Blurple & Pink Pastel Half Moons 🌙

Good Morning lovelies! Hope you’re having a fantastic Thursday. I seriously can’t believe that it is almost the weekend already! & the May long weekend at that. Well, unless you work in retail of course… & then it is just another weekend with a slightly busier Monday.

Today I’m showing off some pretty half moons featuring a few shades from the Sally Hansen Canada Miracle Gel Pastel Punk collection. & as you can see, I’ve made a return to rounded nails. My nails in general have been feeling pretty weak ever since my return to work (a combination of not oiling & moisturizing them every hour, dealing with lots of stock & having to use a liberal amount of hand sanitizer) so after another break I decided a return to rounded was in order.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Nailtek 2
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel I Lava You
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Just Maui’d
  • Paper Hole reinforcements

I’ve raved again & again just how much I adore the look of half moon designs, especially how EASY they are! Because this kind of design was my first ever real “nail art” I did, aside from maybe poorly door polka dots, this is one of my top nail art design suggestions for those just getting into nail art. Especially because the only “tools” it requires can be bought at Walmart or Dollarama (or any dollar store) for less than $2.

Also check out how much more purple Just Maui’d looks paired with I Lava You versus on its own when I swatched it. It pairs so well with the pinks, I can’t get over it. Definitely in love.

what do you think of this half moon combination? What is your favourite colour combination? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

Also I’m on the hunt for any suggestions on how to help my nails feel less frail. Going to be switching up my base coat–thinking about trying out Nail Envy again. If you have any suggestions let me know! 💜

I was up early enjoying so cold brew & finishing up today’s very special blog post featuring swatches of the brand new Sally Hansen Canada Pastel Punk Collection! This is a Canada Exclusive collection so apologies in advance to my international & American friends.

I received this 6 polishes collection from Sally Hansen themselves & the packaging was awesome. Not only were my polishes & Miracle Gel Top Coat wrapped up in the funky fanny pack you see above, but they included the cassette tape you see above… which is actually a USB! One of the cutest PR packages I’ve ever gotten in the mail!

Also that fanny pack is all kinds of nail art inspo!

Saran Wrap Splatter & Geometric Lines featuring Sally Hansen Canada’s Miracle Gel Pastel Punk Collection 💀🌸

Hello lovelies & Happy Tuesday. I hope whenever you are, the weather is beautiful & Spring like. Today I’m featuring a design using the brand new Sally Hansen Canada Miracle Gel Pastel Punk collection. I saw this collection in stores & was super excited by all the beautiful colours… & then I was just lucky enough to receive the WHOLE collection courtesy of Sally Hansen Canada themselves. I have a full swatch post coming up (this weekend… stay tuned!) which will show you the awesomeness of the colours on their own, but in the mean time I have the first of many designs featuring these awesome shades!

First up…. some dry brushing & geometric lines!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Nailtek 2
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel After Altar
  • Sally Hansen MG Just Maui’d
  • Sally Hansen MG Ocean Daze
  • Sally Hansen MG I Lava You
  • Sally Hansen MG Shell-ebration
  • Sally Hansen MG Golden Glow
  • Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Black Heart
  • Bundle Monster striping brush.

This whole collection is full beautiful spring shades & they go together so well. The first design I had to do with them just had to be a dry brush & I love how well these colours compliment each other. & then I love the black lines over top the softness of the dry brush because of how well it pops. It feels like I don’t do my free hand lines nearly enough so I wanted to practice a little. I bought acrylic paint forever ago, but I have zero clue where it is. It probably would have made my design a lot easier to do. I did it using polish & it turned out slightly wonky. Never less, I do love how this pattern turned out.

I know I said that the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Travel in Colour collection was my favourite for Spring, but this collection made have beat it. It’s that blue & the shimmers & everything. It’s just so pretty. Even though I don’t wear it nearly as often as I should, I just love a good pink polish. & there are TWO in this collection. & I love, love, love them. 💗 When I get my swatches posted this weekend, you’ll see all the reasons why this collection is amazing. I can foresee a lot of designs coming up featuring these lovely shades.

have you sought out the Sally Hansen Pastel Punk collection yet? Which shade is your favourite? What do you think of this dry brush & graphic line design?

Zig Zag Chevron Accent Nails

Happy Monday lovelies! Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. ♥️ Mine was… short! But it’s a brand new week & I have a brand new manicure to start it off with. I’m still obsessing over these new Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polishes, so I have yet another design to share with you featuring them. This time, I used some brand new (to me) vinyls from The Base Coat to create some funky chevron zig zag accent nails.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Nailtek 2
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat
  • Sally Hansen MG Lilac Insomniac
  • Sally Hansen MG Little Peony
  • Sally Hansen MG Sugar Fix
  • Sally Hansen MG Sweet Tea
  • The Base Coat Nail Vinyls Chevron/Zigzag (wide)
  • NailStuff.ca square stud from mixed decoration wheel (gold).
  • Small dotting tool.

First off, these nail vinyls are so much fun & I love how they look. I’ve been obsessed with shopping from throw pillows lately (as we continue to decorate our new house) & this colour combination & pattern looks a lot like the patterns I continuously find myself drawn to. & obviously I had to throw some studs as an accent in there because it’s been a while since I used my favourite nail stud wheel from NailStuff.ca!

I have to say, I just love how cleanly the lines on these chevrons came out. The vinyls from The Base Coat definitely stick to the nail very well when you use them. No flooding under the vinyl & creating a big mess! Really, really just loving this whole look from the chevron zig zags, to the colours. It feels Summery & fun… which I think all of us need right now.
