Colour Block Outlined Half Moons

Hello lovelies & happy Thursday!

Today I have another fun look to share with you. I was feeling some nails a bit out of my comfort zone, & these turned out exactly how I pictured in my head. I wanted some neon half moons, but I decided to take them to the next level with some black outlining, & the end result is AWESOME!

& the timing was perfect, because these nails ended up getting the spotlight they deserved during a special photoshoot at work this past weekend.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Millionails
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • Orly Oh Cabana Boy
  • Orly Fireball
  • Starrily Vantablack
  • NailStuff.ca 4mm Micro Detail Brush
  • Paper Hole Reinforcement stickers

Oh man, I just love these.

I feel between the neon brightness & the graphic black lines, these are very unlike my usual manicure style, but that’s probably why I like them so much! They definitely took a few extra minutes (& more patience than I realized I had) but the end result is so worth it.

Plus they’re so pretty! & bright. I feel like with all the bitterly cold days we’ve been having, I’ve been craving neons & bright colours more than I usually do. But… also, this colour combination could also totally work for Valentine’s Day too.

What do you think about this look? Are you a fan of the outlined nail look? Do you like these two bright neons together?

Glam Nails Challenge September — Scarecrow

Hello lovelies & Happy Tuesday!

Haha I’m totally thrown off because of the holiday yesterday, & prepping for my little guy’s first day of school today! That’s the reason why this design is a few days late. But I’m super excited for these scarecrow inspired nails for the next Glam Nails Challenge prompt — I’m so about Fall right now, & these nails scream Fall to me! I’ve been absolutely loving all the Autumn shades I’ve recently picked up, so I loved combining them all into one design.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie First Base
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • Sinful Colours Essenchills Chamomile Calm
  • China Glaze Spice To Meet You
  • Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Cinnasnap
  • Essie Get Your Groove On
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Blacky-O
  • NailStuff.ca 16mm Striper Brush
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio

I’m so excited with how this look turned out! The colours go so well together, & I feel like they give off Scarecrow vibes from the combination. I’ll be honest, it’s been a while since I’ve been up close & personal with a scarecrow, but I felt like these orange-y & yellow tones really worked for the look. Also, there was no way I was going to be able to successfully freehand a scarecrow. But over all I’m so beyond happy with the end result!

What do you think about these scarecrow inspired nails? Are you following along with Glam Nails Challenge September? Are you excited about all the designs this month?

I’m really, really pumped for all the designs, so you definitely need to tuned!

I’m also ready for all the Fall polish colours & designs.

After last month’s fun designs with last month’s GlamNailsChallenge, I’ve decided to keep things going with this month’s challenge! & the first challenge is right in my wheelhouse: sunflowers 🌻.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie First Base
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • China Glaze The Snuggle is Real
  • China Glaze Autumn’s Up!
  • China Glaze Spice To Meet You
  • China Glaze Loves You A Latte
  • Essie Check Your Baggage
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio
  • NailStuff.ca 7mm detail brush

How cute did my sunflowers turn out?

I’ve actually never attempted sunflowers before, so I’m really excited with how these came together. Plus, I got to use a few of the new China Glaze Autumn Spice collection shades I just received the other day. & they were absolutely perfect for this design. I have full swatches coming Sunday, but spoiler alert: I’m absolutely obsessed with these shades so be prepared for a lot of designs using these polishes.

Are you excited for another month of Glam Nails Challenge? I feel like all the prompts for September is going to just get me even more ready for Autumn, so I’m very excited.

What are you favourite Fall designs? Let me know what Autumn vibes speak to you most?

Neon Chevron Moons (Happy National Nail Polish Day!)

Hello lovelies — happy June 1st! & happy National Nail Polish Day!

Here we are, almost at Summer! Can you believe it?

I feel like May has really, really sped by. Which is crazy, considering we spent it in lockdown here. But it’s officially June, things are finally starting to open up, & it’s also National Nail Polish Day. So far, everything about June is looking up!

In honour of my new favourite holiday, I decided I needed to do one of my favourite designs, in some bright crazy colours. It’s been ages since I wore any kind of chevron moon, so it was long overdue. & who doesn’t love some neon!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • China Glaze Shocking Pink
  • China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy
  • Beyond The Nail Half Chevron Vinyl Nail Guides

Hello brightness, my old friend. It’s been ages since I wore anything this neon, & it’s been way overdue. Also it gave me a reason to test out my new half chevron vinyls I picked up from Beyond the Nail a few weeks back. I’m actually really loving the shape of them, because I feel like they give me a really good chevron shape — sometimes I get frustrated with vinyls that are a bit more rounded, & you end up with more of a half moon than a chevron moon. These look great though, & we’re super easy to use!

What do you think of my mani pick for National Nail Polish Day? Do you have plans to celebrate today? I do—but they’re top secret! I promise I’ll be able to share soon though!
