Hello lovelies & Happy Friday. I am currently on vacation with my kiddos for the next week & a half so my posts are (probably) not going to be as regular as they normally are, but I did bring my China Glaze Gone West polishes with me, so I’m hoping to have a few fun designs to share with you!

First up, a manicure I created prior to going away. I posted on Instagram what design I should do & the overwhelming vote was for some chevron moons! I will admit, it’s been a while since my last chevron moon design–in fact, it was in May–so a new version was way over due. & since I’m all about the Fall polish right now, I had to use some of these awesome China Glaze colours. Because, I’ll be honest… I’m kind of obsessed with this entire collection.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Franken Base Coat creation
  • Base Coat: Quo by ORLY Bonder
  • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
  • China Glaze Lawless & Flawless
  • China Glaze Take The High Rodeo
  • China Glaze Cowboy Bye
  • The Base Coat Stacked Chevron vinyls

I talked in my Swatch Sunday post about how good I thought that Lawless & Flawless would be for negative space designs, & I was right. It made such a good middle layer for this look, but the shimmer in the polish still comes through. Gorgeous. Also I debated on which shades to use for this look, & went back & forth between Cowboy Bye, Cattle Drive Me Crazy & Buffalo Bills Bills Bills, but in the end my favourite won out because I thought that the underlying shimmer of Cowboy Bye just seemed to compliment the pink in Take The High Rodeo.

& you know what? I was definitely right. Just look how well these three go together!

Okay guys, I know I’ve been saying I’ve been feeling the Fall vibes since, like, the middle of July but I’m serious now–I am so ready for it! My nails are channeling Autumn hard, & all this girl needs is a dairy free pumpkin spice latte, some knee high socks, my cosiest sweater & my biggest knit scarf. Hope you’re ready for the influx of Fall designs that will be coming your way, but I am definitely inspired. 🍁🍂

Blue & Holo Negative Space Colour Blocking

Good morning lovelies & Happy Friday! The countdown to the weekend is officially on… unless you work in retail or customer service & then what is a weekend? Haha.

Today I have another new manicure to share with you — I know, I’m on a roll. This time I’m throwing it back with some negative space colour blocking. This manicure idea popped in my head the other night when I was trying to figure out what to do on my nails including exactly the colours that I needed to use. & thankfully the sun decided to come around so I could show you this manicure in the light it deserves.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

It’s been so long, too long, since I pulled out my bottle of A Pirate’s Life from Wrenn Polish & I thought it would look so pretty with a holo accent so I grabbed Happy Thoughts too. In regular light the holo kind of hides a bit, but as soon as you hit bright light BAM! 💥 There it is! You can’t miss those gorgeous rainbows. & I just love how this design turned out, especially since the whole manicure took me less than 20 minutes & didn’t need any tools or tape — just a steady hand.

what are you wearing on your nails for the weekend? I’m going to (hopefully) redo my nails tonight so leave any nail art suggestions down in the comments below!

Negative Space Red Chevron Moons

Good Morning & Happy Wednesday! We’re already half way through our week–how crazy is that. We’re also one week away from August… even crazier. This Summer is certainly rocketing by! I’m already feeling that familiar draw towards dark polish, pumpkin spice & cosy knits that starts happening around this time of year.

But not yet… we still have a bit of Summer left so bring on the bright polishes!

Today’s design was brought on by wanting to wear red nails, but more than just a solid colour. It wasn’t intentional, but these totally ended up reminding me of Bring It On! Does anyone else remember that movie. I was so obsessed with it when it first came out… & now I totally need to rewatch it again.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: OPI Nail Envy
  • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
  • L’Oréal Magic Top Coats —The Shift Me
  • Essie 5th Avenue
  • Kiss Products Nail Art Striper in Black
  • Snail Vinyls small single chevrons (so sad the shop is closing!)

I love red nail polish, but I find it the hardest colour to do nail art over simply because it seems to be a colour I turn to during holidays (Christmas, Canada Day, ect) but it is by far one of my all time favourite polish colours. I seriously love how these turned out, even if they totally remind me of cheerleader uniforms. Also I’m pretty sure this red is my new favourite red polish — I’ve been wearing it a lot lately, especially as a pedicure.

Even More Negative Space Half Moons!

Happy Wednesday lovelies! Who else can’t even believe it’s already Wednesday. It feels like this week is speeding by like crazy. Dreaming of the weekend already… it feels like it’s almost here. Which means spending all weekend (hopefully) barbecuing!

Today’s design is one I actually did back in June, during my super crazy two weeks at work, & never got a chance to share with you! This design was actually what I wore when I had my first Head Office visit at work. I was super nervous as this was the first time I was meeting one of my big bosses, so I wanted to make sure I was representing the brand as best as I could…. right now to the nails!

The polishes I used for this design were:

  • Base Coat: Essie Grow Stronger
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • Icing Mermaid Mint
  • Claire’s Matte Pastel Nail Polish Sorbet Mint
  • Claire’s Matte Pastel Nail Polish Sorbet Blue
  • Jordana Cosmetics Pop Art Nail Design in Blue Abstract

You know what’s awesome about working for a company which is geared towards a tween audience—you always have an excuse to do something fun with your nails! We sell a lot Nail goodies, so I’m always getting inspiration from them! This design was kind of a recreation of an old design that I had done, but with a few different polish picks.

You can seriously never go wrong with a good negative space chevron look. & the colour combinations are endless!

What do you think of this design? Are you as obsessed with negative space chevron looks as I am (I don’t think anyone is!)

Floral Flash Nails

Happy Tuesday lovelies! I hope you’re enjoying the beginning of your week. Today I’m sharing some brand new nails with you–& yep, more floral! I truly believe you can never wear too much floral. Now if only I had taken more pictures of this design…. sadly I only snapped a few to share with you!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Nailtek 2
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel In the Sheer
  • Essie Play Date
  • Essie Go Ginza
  • Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Trouble Maker
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Super Charge
  • Essence The Green & The Grunge
  • Sally Hansen I ♥️ Nail Art pen in Pink
  • China Glaze Metro Pollen-tin
  • Sally Hansen I ♥️ Nail Art pen in Black
  • Sally Hansen Royal Hue
  • China Glaze I Sea the Point
  • Bundle Monster detail brush
  • Bundle Monster dotting tool

It always takes so many polishes to create my favourite florals, but when you see it all put together it’s so worth it. Gosh I love floral designs over almost bare or really sheer polishes. They’re is just something romantic about how they come together. Love love love. Also I felt like I needed some untraditional floral colours–like purple roses. Something just a little bit different from my more recent floral & rose designs. I’m a little bit floral obsessed right now–I just picked up a new floral phone case, & I keep buying floral shirts & dresses. There is just no such thing as too much floral! 🌸
