Floral Flash Nails

Happy Tuesday lovelies! I hope you’re enjoying the beginning of your week. Today I’m sharing some brand new nails with you–& yep, more floral! I truly believe you can never wear too much floral. Now if only I had taken more pictures of this design…. sadly I only snapped a few to share with you!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Nailtek 2
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel In the Sheer
  • Essie Play Date
  • Essie Go Ginza
  • Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Trouble Maker
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Super Charge
  • Essence The Green & The Grunge
  • Sally Hansen I ♥️ Nail Art pen in Pink
  • China Glaze Metro Pollen-tin
  • Sally Hansen I ♥️ Nail Art pen in Black
  • Sally Hansen Royal Hue
  • China Glaze I Sea the Point
  • Bundle Monster detail brush
  • Bundle Monster dotting tool

It always takes so many polishes to create my favourite florals, but when you see it all put together it’s so worth it. Gosh I love floral designs over almost bare or really sheer polishes. They’re is just something romantic about how they come together. Love love love. Also I felt like I needed some untraditional floral colours–like purple roses. Something just a little bit different from my more recent floral & rose designs. I’m a little bit floral obsessed right now–I just picked up a new floral phone case, & I keep buying floral shirts & dresses. There is just no such thing as too much floral! 🌸

Negative Space Chevron Moons & Polka Dots

Happy Saturday my lovelies! Today I have a brand new design to share with you! Today’s inspiration comes from my obsession with Vanderpump Rules.

I was watching clips of Watch What Happens Live the other night while trying to come up with nail art inspiration, & stumbled across clips from a few months ago featuring an appearance from Stassi. I immediately noticed the gorgeous dress she was wearing & realized it would make for an amazing nail art design. I was absolutely in love with the neckline, the colour & the polka dots! It was the perfect combination for a not too difficult design, which was exactly what I needed at 11:30pm. So off I went to find my trusted dotting tools & nail vinyls.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Nailtek2
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • Essie Lounge Lover
  • Color Club Sidewalk Psychic
  • The Base Coat Stacked Chevrons (singles)
  • Bundle Monster small dotting tool

Sadly it was a little too cloudy yesterday to really appreciate the beauty of Sidewalk Psychic but it worked really well overtop Lounge Lover. Also can we talk about how beautifully vibrant Lounge Lover is? I forgot how beautiful it was! It almost looks neon on my nails, which on a grey & cloudy awful day is exactly what I needed to cheer myself up.

Oooooh, I need to do negative space chevron moons more often. Also I never thought to do polka dots with negative space! I think it came out pretty close to the dress that inspired it. Literally my two favourite nail art designs combined into one. 💗 Also adds in my current obsession (Vanderpump Rules) which is what makes my Monday’s the most exciting. Does anyone else watch the show? I went back & rematches the series from the beginning about 3 months ago & it’s such a fun mindless entertainment tv show. Also I totally want to visit LA just to go to Sur.

what do you think of this design? Do you think it was reminiscent of its inspiration? What’s your favourite reality TV show?

Negative Space Stripes (Again!)

Hello Lovelies & happy Monday! I hope everyone had a fantastic week. I’m getting prepped for a busy week ahead–it’s March Break week which means that it’s going to be busy busy busy for me at work! I’m still getting used to being back to work but that’s why they invented espresso, am I right? I’m also getting used to fitting in doing my nails to my daily routine on top of working & being a Mom–it definitely takes practice! So I’ve been leaning more towards easy nail art looks.

Today’s nails were done using some striping tape from Born Pretty Store (Item #40423) that I recently bought. I picked up a three pack of different sizes that I thought would be perfect for achieving different sized stripes. Plus it’s pretty & purple… & I love purple!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Quo by ORLY Kiss Me, I’m Kind
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • Essie Cashmere Bathrobe
  • Essie Where’s My Chauffeur?
  • Born Pretty Store Aurora Rainbow Nail Striping Tape (item #40423)
  • Small detail brush from Bundle Monster

These were so simple to do & I love the pop of colour against the dark grey polish. All I did was apply my different sizes of striping tape over my completely dry base coat, & then painted over top with Cashmere Bathrobe. Then I took my small detail brush & added stripes of Where’s My Chauffeur? freehand. Definitely one of my favourite Spring polishes & it works so well with Cashmere Bathrobe because it stands out so much! You can never go wrong with a good turquoise nail polish.

Also negative space makes me so happy. Like–it’s such an easy way to make your nails look fancy without a lot of work. & I’m all about quick & easy while still looking fancy.

What nails are you rocking to start off your week? What do you think of this negative space look? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

My New Favourite Purple & Swirly Accent Nails

Happy Friday everyone! Today I’ve got a quick mani I did recently when I was feeling some nail art, but didn’t want to do anything too complicated. This mani was actually inspired by a design I did back in September 2016 as part of my failed attempt at the 31 Day Challenge. I loved the look of the design over a super sheer polish, so I decided that it would make for the perfect accent nail.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Essie Grow Stronger
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • L’Oréal Elusive
  • Ardene Ice Mist
  • Essie Frock N’ Roll
  • Small detail brush from Bundle Monster

Okay can we talk about L’Oréal Elusive for a second? I found this bottle at my local Lawtons in the clearance section (my favourite place for polish finds) & I had to buy it! It’s just such a good shade of purple, & I’ve been wearing it a lot lately. Also I totally apologize for the chipping at the tip of my nails—I took these shots after 2 full days of wear so they were looking tougher than they should. But this purple…. it’s just such a good purple! 💜 I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I’ve been on a huge purple kick lately.

Spring Essentials: Perfect Formula Pink Gel Coat Review

Winter finally seems to be leaving us, the days feeling a little bit warmer, which means it’s time to refresh my nails! Bitter cold Winter days can be rough on your nails, making them brittle, so sometimes you need a little help bringing them back to life.

I was sent Perfect Formula Pink Gel Coat to review, and I was excited to try out this base coat. I’ve used their Hot Coral Gel Coat Color Polish before & I was really impressed with how strong it made my nails feel! So when given the chance to try out this base coat, I couldn’t wait to see if it would give my nails some new life after a long winter!

Perfect Formula Pink Gel Coat is available to buy at Sephora for $30 It can be worn either on its own, or as a base coat under your manicure. The ingredients are designed to strengthen your nails while simultaneously protecting them from breaks. The pink tinge also brightens the nail, which can cover any discolouration.
