Happy 10th Birthday Coffee & Nail Polish! ✨🌈

Hello my loves & happy Friday. Not just any Friday — we are celebrating the birthday of this little nail blog of mine. 10 years of fun nail art, pretty polish & my love of combining the two. & it’s been quite the journey since my very first blog post! We’ve seen new jobs, weddings, babies, a pandemic, & a whole lot of nail shape changes!

& if you’ve been here since the beginning — thank you!

I thought to mark this occasion I needed some pretty floral (my go to favourite since the beginning) featuring my all time favourite nail shade: red.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifer
  • Top Coat: China Glaze Fast Forward Top
  • Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Cherry Delightful
  • Sally Hansen InstaDri Heather Hustle
  • OPI Sickeningly Sweet
  • OPI Nature Strong Emflowered
  • OPI Nature Strong Make My Daisy
  • Essie Muchi Muchi
  • Essie Willow in the Wind
  • Essie Off Tropic
  • BKIND Sauble Beach
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio
  • Nailstuff.ca Mermaid Tail 7mm liner brush

Obviously I had to do some floral to celebrate this next decade of Coffee & Nail Polish. My favourite back then, my favourite now! & I’m particularly in love with how these turned out over this beautiful red from Sally Hansen.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart everyone who has joined this nail journey with me. It means so much to see the likes, the comments, the love. It means so much & I hope you stick around to see what the next ten years brings.

GLAM NAILS CHALLENGE MARCH — Butterflies 🦋

Hey beauties & happy Wednesday! I wish u could say it’s a beautiful Spring day… but March is really March-ing here in the East Coast & I hate it.

Today though, I have the next prompt for Glam Nails Challenge March which is butterflies! 🦋

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifer
  • Top Coat: China Glaze Fast Forward Top
  • OPI Nature Strong Cactus What You Preach
  • Ardene Dreaming
  • Ardene La Luna
  • What’s Up Beauty Butterflies Stencils
  • Nailstuff.ca Mermaid Tail 7mm liner brush

For this look, I painted my nails with my base OPI Cactus What You Preach topped with Ardene dreaming. When that was dry, I then peeled out individual butterflies from my stencil & applied them to the nail where I wanted my butterflies. Quickly, I painted overtop with Ardene La Luna. When I removed the butterflies stickers, you could see the blue underneath, & I went into with my nail art brush & added little bodies & antenna so they’d really look like butterflies.

It wasn’t the easiest to peel off the butterfly stickers after painting over them, but I think this look turned out too cute! You can definitely tell they’re butterflies, & that’s all that matters.

What do you think about this fun butterfly design? You can see all the beautiful Glam Nails Challenge March designs on Instagram under the hashtag #glamnailschallengemarch — there are so many beautiful designs to see!

Have a beautiful Wednesday lovelies 🖤

GLAM NAILS CHALLENGE MARCH — Pastel

Good morning lovelies & happy Monday. I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. This weekend was the beginning of March Break, which meant that work was pretty busy. It also means my kids are home all week during the day, which should make trying to get any nail art done a moot point haha.

But today we’re diving into the 3rd prompt for Glam Nails Challenge March, & this one was an easy one — pastel. Obviously, I had to do a pastel skittle look using a few Spring-y shades.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifer
  • Top Coat: China Glaze Fast Forward Top
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Crying Out Cloud
  • Londontown USA Bell Flower
  • Essie Mint Candy Apple
  • Essie Chillato
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Sun Shower
  • Essie Expressie FX Iced Out

Oh I love a good skittle, & I’ve really been loving the pastels lately as well. This look is an easy way to do some “nail art” that isn’t really nail art but totally passed for it. Quick, easy, super cute; all the things I look for in a manicure, to be honest. & the addition of Essie Expressie FX Iced Out gives all the nails a nice cohesive look that pulls everything together. I know the glazed nail look is kind of on its way out, but I’m kind of obsessed with it.

I’ve never been one for following trends anyway.

What do you think of my pastel skittle look for Glam Nails Challenge March? Is it beginning to feel a bit like Spring where you are? We’ve had nothing but rain upon rain the last couple days… so yeah, definitely feeling like Spring haha.

Have a great Monday.

Instagram Nail Art Collab — Clover 🍀

Good morning lovelies & happy Friday! I hope everyone had a lovely week. I’m definitely excited for the weekend to be here. Today I’m excited because I finally was able to join in another of the Instagram nail art collaborations hosted by @essieyall & @petitenaillover. I always love taking part in these collaborations — it’s so much fun teaming up with a great group of artists, & seeing everyone’s take on the same prompt.

This month’s prompt is clover. So I decided to go with a fun scattered clover look over a semi-naked base.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifer
  • Top Coat: China Glaze Fast Forward Top
  • Essie Expressie FX Iced Out
  • Essie Off Tropic
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Electri-Lime
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio
  • Nailstuff.ca Mermaid Tail 7mm liner brush

My clovers didn’t exactly turn out how I imagined (I wish they had) but I still really love how they look. The green also really pops against the shimmery naked base, which was what I wanted. It’s a fun St Patrick’s Day look to wear, which is perfect for this month.

What do you think about this fun clover design? If you want to check out all the fun nail art looks created for this month’s prompt, check out the hashtag #clovernailartmanicollab on Instagram.

Have a beautiful Friday!

GLAM NAILS CHALLENGE MARCH — Dots

Hello lovelies & happy Thursday!

I am a day late on posting the next prompt for Glam Nails Challenge March. I worked long shifts for the last few days, so I was too exhausted to get up this prompt so I apologize! But the next prompt for Glam Nails Challenge March is dots, & we all know that I adore a dotticure. I decided to go with a gradient dotticure for this look, as I haven’t done one in a while.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifer
  • Top Coat: China Glaze Fast Forward Top
  • Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manciure Cherry Delightful
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel A Moo Point
  • Sally Hansen MG Blacky-O
  • Sally Hansen MG Can’t Beet Royalty
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio

I’m obsessed with this red from Sally Hansen — it was released years ago as part of the Sally Hansen RED/esign collection. The black, white & dark red dots remind me a bit of Mini Mouse too, which is fun.

A gradient dotticure was one of my first nail art looks that I learned to do, & became obsessed with, so I always return to it. It’s the easiest way to jump into nail art if you’re kind of scared–it’s really hard to mess it up!

What do you think of my dotticure for Glam Nails Challenge March? Are you a fan of a gradient dotticure like this? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!
