Simple Sunday Dotticure.

The other day I was at my local Winners and discovered a new (to me) polish brand: Orchid! I’ve never heard of this brand before, but as they had a 7 pack on sale for $5 I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to try it out.

The colours I used for this manicure were:

  • Orchid Nail Polish Teal Me a Secret
  • Orchid Nail Polish Steel Guitar
  • Butter London Matte top coat.

This mani was in part inspired by a recent manicure by @polishandbeyond who posted a matte teal mani that I was just in love with. What is it about matte nails that just scream perfection?

Have a fantastic Sunday loves! ☕️

Another go at Saran Wrap nail art

Happy Saturday lovelies! Hope you’re having a fantastic start to your weekend. And if you’re  one of those unlucky souls currently in the path of that awful Blizzard, I hope you’re staying warm and safe all tucked in with plenty of Storm Chips!

Today I’ve got some Spring-y Saran wrap nails to share with you, which I haven’t posted in quite a while. I love how quick and easy they look. For version of the Saran Wrap nails, I like to paint my polish directly on my crinkled up plastic wrap then dab it on my base colour. It creates a much different look! If you ever want me to create a pictorial tutorial for the technique, let me know and I definitely will (videos still escape me!).

  • Black Nail art Striper from Milani

So what do you think of this manicure? I’m feeling the January Nail Art blues hard. I don’t find there anything inspiring about these cold awful days. =(

Bring on February and all the Valentines Days manicures a girl can handle! ❤

Purple Matte stripes (because I’m kind of obsessed right now)

I seriously need to get out of this purple/blue/pink kick I’ve been on. Soon, I will do it soon. In the mean time though, it’s time for some more purple nails!

I broke down my nails (again) so it’s back to baby nails for me. To jazz them up some, I figured stripes would work to make them look longer! I don’t know if I was totally successful in my endeavour, but I do love how these look. I was partially inspired by binge-watching season two of the new 90210 and a dress that Silver was wearing.

The polishes I used for this mani were:

  • OPI I Lost My Bikini in Molokini.
  • Art Deco Nail Art striper in black
  • Art Club Nail Art Duo in white
  • Essie Good to Go
  • Butter London Matte top coat.

Just can’t stop with the matte either. No apologies there. I’m just in love with all thing matte right now! I also just scored a bottle of Essie Shine of the Times and I cannot WAIT to put a little matte top coat over it. Stay tuned!

Neon polka dots.

I’m kind of over snow and winter, so I decided to go with something bright and colourful on the nails. I decided to play around with some of my favourite bright and neon colors.

The polishes I used for this manicure were:

  • OPI I Canolli Wear OPI (white base colour)
  • Color Club Disco Dress
  • Essie Strut Your Stuff
  • Sinful Colors Dream On
  • Essie Good to Go top coat
  • Smaller size and Larger size dotting tools.

What do you wear on your nails when the January blahs take effect?

Layla Thermo Polish Effects No.5

I’ve written before about my love of thermal nail polishes, and so I thought I would share this mani I did using Layla Thermo Polish Effects No.5. This one of the Layla Thermo Polish Effects I picked up on clearence at Lawtons Drugs and probably my favourite of all the thermals/”mood” polishes I own.

For this mani, I used Essie Jiggle Hi, Jiggle Lo for my base, and applied right angle chevron vinyls from My Nails Did when the polish was completely dry. I applied my Layla polish over top of each nail–one base coat, and then a second coat. After each second coat was applied, I immediately removed each vinyl. Using a Stripe Rite striper in pink, I applied a small freehand chevron to the top of each of my chevrons and then sealed everything in with top coat.

Top picture show how Layla Thermo Effects looks when hot (pink) and cold (purple) and in the bottom picture you can see the transition between the two. So wicked!

I’m not sure if any of the Layla Thermo Polish Effects are still available, but if you ever stumble across any–definitely pick some up! You will not be disappointed.
