Simple Blue Dotticure (Featuring Madam Glam!)

*contains PR/Gifted Product

Hello lovelies — long. time no see! This month has been a rough one, & sadly that meant I had to take a very unplanned break from blogging. But I’m back, & ready to share all the pretty designs I was creating during my impromptu hiatus.

Today, I am excited because I have some new products to share with you I was gifted from the very kind Madam Glam. They reached out to me about sending me some of their nail polishes & products, & I jumped at the opportunity! You might remember I did a post sharing some of their gel polishes a very years ago, so when I found out they were now doing non-gel nail polishes, I couldn’t wait to try them out! It look a while to reach me (thank you Canada Post strike), but I’m very excited to share all these goodies with you. First thing I did? I’ll have a full swatch post of what I received, but I couldn’t wait to try out some of the goodies & decided to create this fun dotticure design!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

I’m sure you’ve heard me gush about my love for nail art pens before (especially for easy polka dot nails!) so when I saw they now had them in their collection, I knew I needed to try them out! You just open the pen, press down on the tip, then give the pen a shake until you start to see colour. Then draw to your hearts desire!

Super easy, & something I always love for creating nail art. I’ll have many more designs to share using these pens coming soon!

What do you think about this polka dot design I created? I love this pale blue for Spring, even if it is still very much Winter outside my window. Those warmer days are coming, so I’m ready to fully embrace all the Spring vibes I can get my hands on

Hope everyone has a fabulous Thursday!

Dainty Red Dotticure ♥️

Good morning lovelies, happy Tuesday & happy July! We’re officially 1/2 way through the year, & that just seems insane to me. It’s officially Summer vacation for my kids, which means the free time to myself I have (when they’re not asleep) becomes much more limited!

So simple nail art becomes a bit more necessary. But simple does not need to mean boring, & I feel like today’s look is anything but boring!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Here to Stay
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • Essie She’s Pampered
  • Sally Hansen I ♥️ Nail Art pen in pink
  • Color Club Top Shelf
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio (tiniest size)

This beautiful polish is another thrift store score that I was not expecting, but I quite love. It looks much more pink in the bottle, but on my nail it’s giving all the way red. But I’ll never say no to a red nail polish — that is well established by now.

I added some pink polka dots over my base shade, with a colour sparkly ones just for fun! I think this look turned out chic & classic, but it’s also fun. From far away you get red nails, but up close you get the full fun look. & I love a nail art design like that! Polka dots were one of the first designs I ever taught myself, & they remain one of my favourites.

What do you think about this chic dainty dotticure? Are you a fan of a subtle look like this? Let me know what you think in the comments below & please — PLEASE — let me know any nail art looks you’d like to see me attempt!

Pretty Spring Dotticure 🌸

Good morning & happy March 1st.

It’s an absolutely frigid March 1st here on the East Coast of Canada. I am basically an icicle right now. So let’s try the encourage some warmer, Spring weather with some Spring vibes on our nails I’m always feeling a dotticure, so I decided that a pinky/purple one was just what I needed.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifer
  • Top Coat: China Glaze Fast Forward Top
  • Essie Muchi, Muchi
  • Sally Hansen I ❤️ Nail Art Pen in Purple

Another super easy dainty dotticure using my I ❤️ Nail Art Pen in Purple. The dark purple over the soft pink is such a romantic combination. I think when we get a bit closer to Easter, I’m going to do a skittle version of this design in Easter-y colours. I’m also thinking I’m going to take on Glam Nails Challenge March this month, as the prompts look awesome for this month, & just what I need to pull me out of my nail art blahs.

What do you think of this teeny tiny dotticure? Do you like this colour combination? My little girl was so in love with my polka dots, she got me to do the same design on her nails (but with the opposite colour scheme.)

Have a beautiful Friday! ♥︎

Dainty Pink & Blue Dotticure

Hello lovelies & happy Monday! A brand new week which is always exciting. It’s also Valentine’s Day this week, so I expect to be busy at work because who doesn’t want candy for Valentine’s Day?

Today though, I’m sharing my last design I did during my week break from blogging (& before I chopped my nails down short.) In my opinion, a dainty dotticure is always a good idea!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifer
  • Top Coat: China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat
  • Essie License to Thrill
  • Sally Hansen I 💗 Nail Art Pen in pink

I am so ready to petition Sally Hansen to bring back these I 💗 Nail Art pens because they just make dotticure & polka dots so freaking easy! Like look at these! I could never get polka dots as clean & as perfect as these with a dotting tool, no matter how hard I try. I’m just absolutely obsessed & I really wish they would bring them back already!

What do you think about this dainty dotticure? Do you love a petite polka dot as much as I do? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!

Itty Bitty Gradient Dotticure

Hello lovelies! Yes it’s me — only we’re rocking some shorties again. (Okay, & I’m drinking a matcha lemonade — my other drink aside from coffee!) I mentioned I had a patch on my middle finger nail of a bad crack. I finally decided I was over trying to keep it from cracking worse, & decided to chop my my nails down.

Today I went with a simple but fun look to wear. I love a good gradient dotticure, but I realized it’s been a long time since I actually did one. This design was actually inspired by this look from 2016. I thought since we were back down to shorties, why not find some fun nail art to do on short nails!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Londontown KUR Nail Hardener & Base Coat
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive Fast Dry Top
  • Londontown KUR Mint No Chip
  • Sally Hansen I ❤️ Nail Art pen in purple
  • Sally Hansen I ❤️ Nail Art pen in turquoise
  • Sally Hansen I ❤️ Nail Art pen in pink
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Get Mod
  • Itty Bitty Dotting Tool (NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio)

How absolutely adorable as these itty bitty polka dots? You could definitely do this with a tiny dotting tool & an assortment of polishes, but I love those Sally Hansen I ❤️ Nail Art pens because it makes it so easy! I really wish Sally Hansen would bring them back, because they’re amazing for nail art — & mine are starting to empty out after all these years.

What do you think about this Gradient dotticure? Do you think you’d wear this fun (& easy!) look? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below.

& feel free to share any nail art you’d love to see me do on my new short nails!

Happy Friday! 🖤
