QUO by Orly Trash Glam

Good Morning Lovelies!
Today I’m going a little more simple with my polish and rocking a polish I’ve owned for quite a while but never actually worn as a full mani: QUO by Orly Trash Glam. And thanks to my Internet googling prowless I’ve learned two things about this polish: it’s a dupe for Orly Sparkling Garbage, and it’s not called Trashy Glam (which, as witnessed in a previous post, I totally thought it was!)

Trash Glam is a beautfiul scattered holo glitter suspended in a green jelly base that is super sheer. For me, it’s best layered over a complimentary colour (I used OPI My Dogsled is a Hybrid) so you get the holo-ness in all it’s glory, but you don’t have to worry about any visible nail line. For my pictures below, I used two coats of Trash Glam layered over two coats of My Dog Sled is a Hybrid and finished everything with one coat of my favourite top coat Essie Gel Setter.

I received this polish from my Hubby a couple years back for our very first Christmas together as part of the QUO by Orly holiday polish pack that came out that year. Green has always been one of those colours I don’t really gravitate towards, mostly because I don’t think it does anything for me. But green holo? I can definitely get behind green holo! The sparkle in the sunshine alone is enough for me to fall in love with this polish.

I totally tried to get a #mynailsandmycat shot with this polish, but every time I tried our kitty Hades would just look away from the camera. She just wasn’t feeling the holo love I guess. I also tried to get a picture of her with the polish bottle but she just laid on top of it. Haha. I guess my kitties are just not meant to be the next Menchie the Cat.

Cactus Pattern Nails

Hello Darlings & happy Saturday!

Today I have some cute cactus pattern nails to share with you! I’ve been seeing a lot of adorable cactus manicures popping up in my Instagram feed lately including adorable manicures by @ChelseaQueen, @NailAllie, & @theBaseCoat. So with so much amazing inspiration around me, I had to try and create my own cactus design! It took two tries (my first attempt was, ahem, not the prettiest) but I think that my final design turned out quite cute!

The polishes I used for this manicure were:

  • China Glaze I’ve Got A Blue Attitude
  • Sally Hansen I Love Nail Art pen in Green
  • Sally Hansen I Love Nail Art pen in Purple
  • Essence The Green and The Grunge
  • Quo by Orly Diva
  • ACO by Ardene Techno Green
  • Essie Gel Setter

First off, can I just comment on how perfect China Glaze I’ve Got A Blue Attitude is? I picked it & We’ve Got The Beet on payday & I LOVE it! Anytime a colour looks like it glows on my nails, I’m pretty much guarenteed to fall in love with it & I’ve Got A  Blue Attitude definitely glows on the nail. I think it’s the perfect colour to pair with my little cactus design.

What nail patterns are you loving right now & where do you get your inspiration? Let me know in the comments below!

Negative Space Colour Blocking.

I’m in love with the Spring weather lately. And with all these warm days that means I need Bright colours on my nails.

I’ve been killing Essie In The Cab-Ana a lot lately…. It’s just such a perfect blue. So I decided to grab it, and ORLY Scenic Route (from their Sprinng 2016 collection) to create a fun negative colour block!

The polishes I used for this mani were:

  • OPI My Point Exactly
  • ORLY Scenic Route
  • Essie In the Cab-Ana
  • Art Club Nail Art Duo in Paisley Blue
  • Essie Gel Setter

This mani turned out even better than I had pictured in my head! I just love when that happens. I always forget how much can I love negative space nails until I wear them again!

What’s your favourite polish/colour to wear this time of year?

Chevron Moons featuring Essie Lounge Lover And Pool Side Service.

Good Morning Darlings!

I don’t know about where you are, but Spring finally seems to be hitting Halifax! So in honour of that, I’m sharing this mani using a couple of polishes from Essie’s Spring 2016 collection.

I was at my local Lawtons the other night, and found a huge display of Essie on clearence for $2.54 each… So naturally I bought 6! I couldn’t wait to play around with my new polishes, so I grabbed some vinyls from MyNailsDid and created some Springy chevron moons.

The polishes I used for this mani were:

  • Essie Lounge Lover
  • Essie Pool Side Service
  • Essie Peach Daiquiri
  •  ORLY Scenic Route
  • Essie Gel Setter
  • MyNailsDid nail vinyls (chevrons)

What’s your favourite Spring 2016 polish so far? I absolutely need to find Shades On from this collection… Such a pretty purple! 💜 have a great day lovelies.
