GLAM NAILS CHALLENGE DECEMBER — New Year Celebration

Good morning & happy New Year! 🍾🎆 It’s officially 2024 & I hope everyone had a safe New Years Eve. I’m very excited for things to come, but before we focus on a brand new year, I still have one more manicure from Glam Nails Challenge December to share!

The last prompt is New Year Celebration.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifer
  • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
  • Essie Make Spirits Bright
  • Ardene Style Icon
  • Sally Hansen InstaDri Ghouls Night Out
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Goldie Rocks
  • Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Let’s Snow
  • Mermaid Tail 7mm liner brush
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio

I really wanted to do a fun year inspired design, especially because 10 years ago I did a similar design for New Year’s Eve. Plus, I’m really hopeful for 2024. Last year had some rough moments for me personally, so I’m hoping that 2024 holds better things.

Obviously, I needed a lot of sparkle. & I added a little dotticure on my thumb to look like confetti.

What do you think of my New Year’s Eve design? Did you wear something sparkly to ring in 2024? ✨🍾

GLAM NAILS CHALLENGE DECEMBER — Christmas Trees 🎄

Good morning & Merry Christmas! I hope Santa was kind & found everyone. I’m popping in quick to share the next prompt of Glam Nails Challenge December — Christmas Tree! 🎄

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifer
  • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
  • Sally Hansen InstaDri Thyme is Money
  • Acrylic Paint
  • ACO by Ardene Secret Diary
  • NailStuff.ca 4mm detail brush

I decided to paint the whole design using acrylic paint because I thought nail polish might dry a bit too quickly, & it gave the design a fun rustic effect. I did add a little bit of glitter on top of my stars, although it didn’t show up like I had hoped. It does remind me of one of those painted Christmas cards you see.

I hope everyone has the merriest of Christmas Days. Enjoy your day however it is spent & I will see you on Wednesday!

GLAM NAILS CHALLENGE DECEMBER — Christmas Cookies

Hello beauties & happy Monday! It is feeling like Spring toady, which I’m not keen on to be honest — it does not feel like Christmas at all.

But today I have another Glam Nails Challenge December design to share & the prompt is Christmas Cookies! I love making Christmas cookies– my favourite thing to do at Christmas is make Gingerbread cats–so I was excited to create a cute Christmas cookie design on my nails.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifer
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • OPI In The Moon for Love
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Oh My Coffee
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel A Moo Point
  • NailStuff.ca 4mm detail brush
  • Small dotting tool (NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio)

Doesn’t this design just make you want to eat some Christmas cookies? I’ve been so busy with work I haven’t had a ton of time to make cookies, like my granny’s shortbread cookies, but I’m definitely going to use the next couple days to do a bit of Christmas baking!

What do you think about this cute Christmas cookie design? Do you like this design? What is your favourite holiday treat to make/eat this time of year? My granny’s scotch cookies are definitely top of this list, but we also use to make something called Oh Henry Bars which are definitely a bit favourite! I made them gluten free a couple years ago, & they were incredible. I definitely need to make them again soon.

Have a beautiful Monday loves! ♥︎

Instagram Nail Art Collab — Evergreen 🌲

Hello lovelies & happy Friday! & happy Hanukkah to all that celebrate! Today I’m excited to share the manicure I did for the Evergreen Nail Art Collab on Instagram, hosted by the ever so lovely @essieyall & @petitenaillover.

This month’s theme is Evergreen, & so I decided to go simple with some hand painted bare evergreen branches.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Colour Grip Primer Base Coat
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • Color Club Label-less grey
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Me, My Elf & I
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Wet My Thistle
  • Sally Hansen InstaDri Jazzy Jade
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Oh My Coffee
  • NailStuff.ca 7mm liner brush

I’ve done some version of this manicure every Winter/Christmas for the last couple years, but it never gets dull or old to me. This version is a bit more subdued than previous versions, but I love how it turned out. I’m always so excited to participate in this monthly challenge, & create something fun with the prompt given.

Instagram Coffee Nail Art Collab ☕️🤎

Hello lovelies & happy Friday! This has been quite a week, so I’m a little happy it’s over — even if it does mean saying goodbye to spooky season. But I did join the monthly nail art collab hosted by @essieyall & @petitenailslover again this month, & I’m super excited to share my design… especially because the prompt is COFFEE!

& if there is one thing I love as much as nail polish , it’s coffee.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essence Colour Grip Base Coat
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • Matte Top Coat: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Matte Top Coat
  • Essie Expressie Cold Brew Crew
  • Wet n Wild 2% Milk
  • Acrylic Paint
  • NailStuff.ca 9mm Mermaid Tail Liner Brush

I was going for a latte art design, so I used acrylic paint because I knew that I was going to need to be able to erase any mistakes — & I was right! This look took longer than expected to do, but I think it turned out just like the coffee art I used to do when I was a barista.

& I hope when you look at it, you can totally see what it’s supposed to be!

Don’t forget, you can check out the other designs through the hashtag #coffeenailartmanicollab2023 on Instagram. & down below, you can check out all the fun coffee themed designs collaged together. Everyone did such an awesome job!

What do you think of my coffee design? Does it totally scream latte to you? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!

& let me know what your favourite holiday coffee drink is!
