Easy Christmas Party Nails (with NailStuff.ca)

Contains PR/gifted product from NailStuff.ca

Good morning & happy Thursday! I hope everyone is having a lovely start to their day. It’s windy, cold, & icy here — so I’m probably going to skate to work!

I know I don’t usually post on Thursdays, but I decided I wanted to try & squeeze in a few more manicures before Christmas! Today’s look is a super simple one, using another set of nail art stickers I received from NailStuff.ca.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifer
  • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
  • Dimension Nails Pygmy Sloth (c/o: NailStuff.ca) — such a good shade for Christmas
  • NailStuff.ca Merry Christmas (Gold & White) Nail Art Sticker

First off… yes my nails are super short again. I have a break on my thumb down super low, so I had to trim it down to avoid disaster, so I trimmed them all down for a fresh start. I swear, the same thing happened this exact same time last year too.

But HOW CUTE are these stickers?! I thought this gold & white set would be perfect over my red base, & I was right! These are perfect for last minute party nails, or any occasion for a little extra pizazz (without a lot of extra time!)

SWATCH SUNDAY— Starrily Cobalt (Co) {Noble Neons Collection}

Contains PR/gifted product from NailStuff.ca

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday! & happy one week to Christmas Eve! Who else is feeling the last minute crunch of Christmas? Today though, I’m excited because I have a brand new (to me) polish to share with you that was recently gifted to me by my nail polish fairy godmother Victoria at NailStuff.ca.

This is Starrily Cobalt (Co) from the Noble Neons collection.

2 coats + top coat

This beautiful & vibrant neon blue has a jelly like base with a scattering of holographic flakes for a sparkling effect. You can build it to opacity, like I did, or wear it over a white base for more of a pop. It does dry to a semi matte finish, like a lot of neons tend to do, so it’s best to finish it off with a glossy top coat.

Formula was smooth, easy to work with, & not too thin so I managed to achieve a good opacity with 2 coats. There is still a touch of visible nail line, but I feel like with a polish like this that’s not a bad thing.

As you can see from the macro shot above, the polish has a good density of holographic glitter. It doesn’t overwhelm it, but you get a good sparkle on the nail.

For those looking to add this colour to their own collection, I know it can be purchased from NailStuff.ca or from Starrily directly.

What do you think of Starrily Cobalt (Co)? Would you wear this holographic neon blue? Does anyone else consider blue nail polish a Christmas colour? Let me know all your thoughts in the comments below!

Happy Sunday! 💙

Freehand Snowflakes (Recreation from 2015)

Hello lovelies & happy Friday! Can you believe we are 10 days away from Christmas Day? This month is literally speeding by so quickly!

Today I’m excited to share a design I did early last week. I was looking through old Facebook memories, & this blue design popped up & I knew I needed to recreate it! I always say I am going to redo certain designs, & get distracted. But I’m so glad that didn’t happen this time!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifer
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • OPI Blue My Mind
  • White acrylic paint
  • Starrily Space Debris
  • NailStuff.ca 4mm detail brush
  • Small dotting tool (NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio)

As you can see, I took these pictures when we had a fresh coat of snow on the ground. sadly, after a massive rainstorm, our actual Christmas is looking more green than white, but at least we had snow for a minute.

I’m so beyond in love with how these turned out. They colour, the design — it just all makes me so happy. I did use acrylic paint for the design itself, but had to add some sparkle obviously!

& just for fun, my original inspiration versus my updated version.

What do you think of my new blue snowflake design? Do you like the original 2015 design or the updated 2023 version better? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!

Have a lovely Friday. 💙

GLAM NAILS CHALLENGE DECEMBER—Poinsettia

Contains PR/gifted product from NailStuff.ca

Hello lovelies & happy Wednesday! I hope everyone’s week is off to a great start. I’m excited today because not only do I have the next prompt for Glam Nails Challenge December to share, but it’s featuring some goodies from my favourite nail art site NailStuff.ca!

She recently added some new nail art stickers to her site for Christmas. I’ve used her stickers a ton, so I knew I needed to added some fun Christmas ones to my stash. & Victoria was so kind as to send me 6 new sheets of nail art stickers to play with!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

How cute are these little poinsettia stickers?!

I was so happy these arrived in time for me to be able to use them for this prompt. I already had my nails painted with this base colour (Dimension Nails Hooded Seal topped with Starrily Space Debris) so it was super easy just to pop these stickers on top of my existing manicure! & once I topped them with top coat, you couldn’t even tell they were stickers.

What do you think about these poinsettia nails for Glam Nails Challenge December? Are you enjoying the manicures so far? Are you a fan of nail art stickers for quick & easy nail art?

SWATCH SUNDAY — China Glaze I Soiree I Didn’t Do It (Holiday 2015 Cheers Collection)

Good Morning lovelies & happy Sunday! It’s the last Sunday of November which is kind of crazy. Yesterday was one month until Christmas Day, so I think it’s time to kick the Christmas nail polish content officially into gear.

Today I have a polish from the 2015 China Glaze Cheers collection. This glitteryblue/greenish shade is called I Soiree I Didn’t Do It.

2 coats + top coat

China Glaze I Soiree I Didn’t Do It is a jelly green base filled will blue, teal & silver glitters. The base is surprisingly dense with glitter, which was nice as I managed my manicure in only 2 coats. I was fully expecting that I was going to need 3-4 coats.

Obviously, you do still see some natural nail peaking through from behind the glitter, but with something as sparkly as this it kind of distracts so the average person isn’t really noticing. I also used one coat of I Soiree I Didn’t Do It layered over a darker shade on my pedicure, & it works great as a glitter topper as well to add a bit of sparkle.

A close up to show off the different glitters all packed into the base. There is definitely holo glitter in there as well. Like I mentioned, this was only two coats, & I was fully expecting I’d need another coat at least. I am glad that I didn’t have to apply another coat though, because this polish was definitely difficult to remove with all that glitter!

I did use my Olive & June polish remover pot •PR• — which I’m overdue on doing a proper review of — which made the process slightly easier.

Now because this is an older special collection shade, it’s not in regular circulation — however, I did find the Gelaze version listed on the China Glaze website, so that’s definitely an option for those who prefer using gel!

& for the non-gel users, China Glaze I Speak Glitter from last years Holiday 2022 collection is very similar in colour as well, except it appears to have some other glitters added to the mix as well. For anyone who owns that shade ( or both), I’d love to know how the two compare!

What do you think about China Glaze I Soiree I Didn’t Do It from the 2015 Cheers collection? Do you remember when this collection was released ? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below.

I’m definitely feeling the glittery holiday vibes now, so I’m going to find all the glitter shades I can to share over the next few Sundays!

Have a great day loves! ♥︎
