Autumn Gloom Floral

Hello lovelies & happy Monday.

Autumn is in full swing, & I’m loving every moment. There is nothing better than the ‘Ber months. Flannel days, hot cider, all things pumpkin spice — I couldn’t ask for more.

Naturally I’ve been drawn towards darker colour on my nails, as you’ve probably all noticed. I decided, though, there wasn’t enough floral happening so I decided to hand paint some pretty floral on my nails, but still keep with the deep dark jewel tones which have been calling to me.

The polishes I used for this manicure are: 

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Maximum Growth Base Coat 
  • Top Coat: Sinful Colors Power Paint Top Coat + Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat
  • Color Club Jewel of A Girl
  • & then a whole bunch of Color Club shades that don’t have names listed (purchased in multipacks at Winners/Marshalls)
  • NailStuff 7mm Mermaid Tail Liner Brush

I’m pretty proud of how these turned out. The colours really compliment the shimmery jewel tone of Jewel of A Girl, & pop very nicely. I did use a ton of shades for this look, but literally none (except my base) had a name on it. I actually have a lot of Color Club shades I don’t use very often because they’re nameless.

Maybe someday I’ll do some investigation to figure out what they’re names are, but today is not that day.

We’re only a couple days away from October, so I’m already starting to plan what I’m going to do for the month — pumpkins, & ghosts & spooky vibes are definitely on the list!

Hand painted Autumn Floral 🌻

Hello lovelies & happy Monday! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend.

It was chilly, & seasonal, & I definitely was adding some pumpkin spice to my coffee. I’m just loving this weather so much. It makes me the happiest! You know what else makes me happy? Floral on my nails. Especially when it’s a floral to match the Autumn vibes. So I’m excited to share this look I hand painted.

Originally I was going for sunflowers, but they kind of transformed into marigolds (maybe?). Some kind of Fall flower for sure.

How pretty did these turn out? Do I know what flower they actually are? no idea! But do I love them regardless? Absolutely!

Recreating my Wedding Nails (on my shorties) 11 years later! ✨👰🏻‍♀️💅💍

Hello lovelies & Happy Saturday! I know I don’t often post on Saturday, but today was a special exception with a special nail design!

I really wanted to recreate my wedding nails in honour of my wedding anniversary, especially as I’m rocking some serious shorties right now. So in honour of the occasion, here’s a brand new version of a very special design.

For those curious, here are my original nails I painted for my wedding day, & my recreation I did in 2018.

I was absolutely obsessed with my original nails that I painted back in 2015 for my wedding day — it was really important to me to create a beautiful design I would love for years, & years to come. & again, when I recreated them I equally loved the design!

But you know what? I think I love them the most on short nails! Long nails look beautiful no matter what, but trying to recreate the exact same look on nails 1/2 the size really makes them pop! The only thing from my recreation I’m not 100% sold on is the much more yellow gold, but it definitely gives it a more colourful vibe. (& the right amount of sparkle! ✨)

What do you think about this anniversary look? Do you love a floral look as much as I do? I’d love to know if this design holds up all these years later. I certainly adore them as much as I did all those years ago & wouldn’t change a thing about the nails I had on my wedding day.

Autumn Floral (Inspired by Christabell Nails)

Hello loves & happy Wednesday! I hope everyone is having a good start to their week (& this brand new month!) Today I’m super excited to share a manicure I recently did inspired by one of my OG Nail inspirations circa 2013-2016: Christabell Nails.

I was browsing Pinterest while trying to figure out what I wanted to paint on my nails, when I clicked over to Youtube & saw my Subscriptions & remembered Christabell! After a little scrolling, I stumbled upon her Autumn Floral Nails Tutorial , & knew I needed to recreate it on my nails immediately! It is such a pretty, but unique, design & I thought it would be a perfect September design.

Aren’t these fun? It definitely was a time consuming manicure to do, especially where I painted all 10 of my fingers. But I think it turned out so unique & fun. My strokes were a little messy, but I think that adds to the whole look.

Definitely a striking manicure that came together perfectly, & was absolutely worth the time it took to do!

What do you think of this design? Do you like to go back to old nail inspo, & reinsure yourself again? I feel like I might started doing it again — nail artists like pshiit_polish (her instagram is now private, but a lot of old manicures are on Pinterest!), The Nailasaurus & Lucys Stash. Maybe I’m feeling nostalgic to the olden nails of nail blogging, but it’s fun to take a trip down nail polish lane, & be inspired by what could be considered retro nail trends.

70s Groovy Autumn Vibes 🍂✨

Hello lovelies & happy Monday. It is rainy, & gloomy, & humid outside, & I’m really not enjoying it. It has me dreaming of better days — aka, Autumn. I did my best, I tried my hardest, but honestly… I just love Fall. I love everything about Fall, & I can’t wait for it to be here! I want knee high boots, tights, & plaid skirts, okay?

So I felt like some fun Autumn-esque toned nails were exactly what I needed.

I also had a horrendous break on my middle finger while opening a bin of coffee beans at work, so a bit snip was in order. But just because my nails are super duper short, doesn’t mean they can’t be cute!

I love this colour combination together too. I picked out my colours before I knew what kind of design I was going to do, but it came together so fun! The colours work together so beautifully, & it is giving both 70s wallpaper vibes, & early Autumn.

My only gripe is a I wish I had mixed up my swirls & my flowers better so they alternated, but it’s such a small thing it doesn’t take away from how fun these look.

What do you think of this Autumn inspired look, featuring my brand new super shorties? Personally I’m really happy with how these turned out — & especially the colour combination. It’s giving just enough Fall vibes to keep this girl going until she gets her hands on her very first PSL.
