Bright & Funky Abstract Stripes (2000s Inspired)

*contains PR/gifted items

Hello loves & happy Monday!

I am still over here desperately craving Spring weather — while the actually weather does not cooperate. You would think I would be used to it by now (after all these years), & yet every year I get enraged when Spring doesn’t come quick enough. But… I digress. You’re here for nails, & I absolutely love today’s design!

I’m calling these Pucci-esque–not to be confused with Color Club Pucci-licious–& they’re giving me mid-2000s vibes. Specifically: Emilio Pucci’s Spring 2005 collection. I wanted something absolutely bright & colourful, that just screamed Spring, & this combination delivered.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Maximum Growth
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive Gel Like Top Coat
  • Butter London Pure Colour 21X Bloomsbury
  • Essie You Do Blue
  • Sally Hansen Good. Kind. Pure. Peony Origins
  • Essie Willow in the Wind
  • OPI I Cannoli Wear OPI
  • Quo by Orly Nail Art Striper in black
  • NailStuff.ca Mermaid Tail 7mm Liner Brush

Okay — how gorgeous & fun are these nails? I love the combination of colours & how they pop on the nails. They’re just so sunny, & bright which is exactly what my days need when it’s quite a bit below freezing today. I need a little hit of Spring, even if it’s only on my nails (while I stare wistfully at the Spring dresses hanging in my closet, just waiting for me.)

What do you think of these bright & colourful nails? Do you love the colourful combination as much as I do? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below, & if you would rock this look on your own nails!

Happy Monday

Black Friday Half Moons 🖤🌛

Happy Black Friday lovelies!

I suppose “happy” is a subjective term. But it is Black Friday, & that means that the holiday season is about to kick into high gear. I work in retail, though, which means I’m just trying to survive the weekend! So in honour of this crazy day, I thought I would create a black manicure to represent the day.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Colour Grip Primer Base Coat
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • Mary Kay Salon Direct Moonlight
  • Essence Here’s My Number
  • Paper Hole Reinforcements

I wanted black nails, but with a twist, & I think this nail art look was just what I needed. I used a lot of top coat to smooth out Essence Here’s My Number as it’s a sparkle sand effect polish. I think the subtle pearlescent shimmer of Moonlight pairs really well with the more obvious sparkle of Here’s My Number. It’s a very chic look, which half moon designs always are to me, but then you have the black & white pairing, which just makes it feel even more chic.

Also it’s a very easy look, that anyone can do. The perfect nail art look for going into battle for retail war.

What do you think of these Black Friday half moons? Do you think this is as chic a look as I do? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!

Happy Shopping darlings! 🖤

Features Gifted Product in Exchange for Content

Hello lovelies & happy Friday! The weekend (& holiday) is upon us, so I thought I would switch things up with an extra post. Recently, I was gifted some of the new Sally Hansen Salon Effects Perfect Manicure & was excited to try them out.

As you might remember, I tried out the Kiss brand press on nails around Halloween, but to be honest I’m not someone who wears them on the regular. I am, however, a huge Sally Hansen fan so if they’re jumping into the press on nail game, I figured it would be fun to get them a try.

FASHION FRIDAY — OOTD: Fall Vibes 🍂

Hello lovelies & happy Friday!

It’s been a while since my last Fashion Friday post so I thought a Fall themed OOTD post was in order. I’ve been absolutely loving these cooler days, & I’ve enjoyed being able to pull out a few of my cosiest clothing items. Aka my cardigans.

I don’t know about you, but one of my favourite autumn accessories is a cardigan. Especially on those days that start out quite chilly, but end up quite balmy by the afternoon. Tis the season for layers — & I’m a girl all about layers. There is a reason why MK & Ashley inspire my Fall style. Layers are the best.

Forever 21 extra long green cardigan. Dollarama black tank top. Joe Fresh faded black skinny jeans. Thrifted patent leather loafers. Coast & Cove sunflower earrings. 🌻

I feel like this outfit is one of my unofficial September uniforms: denim bottoms, tank or t-shirt, & then a cosy cardigan thrown over top. Between this & a dress with a denim jacket, that’s all I really wear until the weather cools down a bit more. Also these black patent leather loafers which I basically wear with everything.

Also how cute are these sunflower earrings I just bought? I’m obsessed with them. They’re by local Halifax artist Coast & Cove & as soon as I saw them I knew I needed them. Her earrings are gorgeous, & I’ll definitely be picking up a few more very soon! Plus, they don’t hurt my very, very sensitive earrings which basically means they’re magic.

What is your Autumn style uniform? What style items are you adding to your wardrobe this season? I have an upcoming post featuring the items I’m calling my “Fall essentials”.

FASHION FRIDAY — My Latest Thrift Finds

Hello lovelies & happy Friday.

It’s been ages since my last Fashion Friday post, so I thought it would be fun to share some recent finds I got while thrifting. If you know me, you know I love a good deal. & I really love when the deal comes from my local thrift store. So I was super excited when I found two amazing deals during my last visit — & I just had to share!

Guess crossbody purse — approx. value $85 CAD

So recently I’ve been on the search for a new black bag to replace my current one that is on its last legs. I’m kind of picky when it comes to purses, so I’ve been struggling to find one that I loved. So I was really, really excited when I scored this beauty at my local thrift for $8. I couldn’t believe it, & I had to get it! The bag is super cute, with a chain that can be shortened to two straps, or worn long as a crossbody bag.

Airwalk Legacee Lace Up Sneakers (never worn) — approx. value $40 CAD

My second score of the trip were these Airwalk sneakers. I love love love this style of sneaker, & I’ve been on the hunt for a new pair after I finally destroyed my Ardene knock offs. So when I saw these hanging out in the shoe section, I got excited. They’re a men’s size 6, so about a woman’s size 8, so they’re the perfect size for me. Definitely a shoe I’m going to be wearing constantly through the rest of summer, & into Autumn. I love how they go with jeans, shorts, or dresses.

& just for fun, I decided to take a quick shot of my new goodies together, before heading to work. Love how versatile these items are! They’ll be so cute with jeans & a sweater come Autumn too!
