Dainty Negative Space Daisies 🌼

Features Gifted Product in Exchange for Content

Hello lovelies & happy Monday! The last Monday of June.

Today I’m showing off some new nail art I did with a few of the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel x Friends shades on my itty bitty baby nails. Yes — I am back to baby nails. I took last week off with posting because I was actually really, really mad with my break. But now I’ve had a week to reflect (& calm down) & I’m feeling better.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & Shine
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel x Friends Central Pink
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel x Friends A Moo Point
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel x Friends Yellow Taxi
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel x Friends The One With the Teal
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio
  • NailStuff.ca 4mm Micro Detail Brush

This nail art look was inspired by @nailpolishedlife on Instagram — this look in particular. She does really stunning dainty designs, so I was excited to recreate this on myself. Also, it’s giving me Y2K vibes, which I’m really into right now. The nostalgia is real. But I think this was the perfect design to get me out of my nail art funk I’ve been in lately, & back to feeling like myself.

Plus this design was super easy to do, which is always a plus in my books.

What do you think about this dainty daisy design? Would you wear a look like this on your nails? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!

Negative Space & Purple Abstract

Hello lovelies & happy Thursday! Hope everyone’s week is lovely so far. It’s almost the weekend, which is always exciting.

Todays look is a random one I came up with while in the middle of painting my nails. I was feeling a little stuck on what to paint on my nails, but was feeling purple, & somehow ended up with this slightly abstract purple look.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & Shine
  • Top Coat: Essence Extreme GEL Top
  • OPI Infinite Shine Sound of Vibrance
  • OPI Infinite Shine Mariachi Makes My Day
  • NailStuff.ca 16mm Striper Brush

How fun is this look?! Negative space has recaptured my heart, & I love the purple on purple look of these two shades together. They’re close enough they match very well, but enough of a difference they create this colour block look. Plus I love the abstract waves.

& I got a ton of compliments when I wore this design to work, which always makes me know I have a successful design! If people notice when I’m serving them, I know my nails are perfect!

What do you think about this look? Would you wear them on your nails?

Let me know all your thoughts in the comments below & how you feel about these abstract purple tips.

Coffee Inspired Drag Marble (featuring Essie x Révolutionnaire collab shades)

Features Gifted Product in Exchange for Content

Hello lovelies & happy Tuesday! It is Tuesday right, haha? Between long weekends & crazy work hours, I’m definitely feeling out of whack. But I’m excited because I was recently gifted some beautiful shades by Essie as part of their Essie x Révolutionnaire collaboration. For those who don’t know, Révolutionnaire.co was created by Nina & Justice, & is a brand & platform committed to celebrating diversity and inclusivity, and fighting for social justice.

& they’ve teamed up with Essie for a beautiful collection of Expressie shades. I was lucky enough to be gifted the whole collection which includes 6 shades — Take the Espresso, Cold Brew Crew, Buns Up, Millennium Momentum, Daily Grind, & Always Transparent. I have full Swatches coming, but in the meantime I just had to do a fun coffee inspired drag marble after seeing these beautiful colours — &, okay, maybe the polish names inspired me slightly too.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & Shine
  • Top Coat: Essie Expressie Always Transparent
  • Essie Expressie Buns Up
  • Essie Expressie Daily Grind
  • Essie Expressie Cold Brew Crew
  • Essie Expressie Take the Expresso
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio (I use the tiniest end)

This was my first experience using Essie Expressie shades, & they’re just lovely. I’ll get into all those details with my swatch post, but they were awesome for this drag marble look. Sometimes when you’re using so many shades, they can start to dry too quickly, but I didn’t find that happened with these. However, the polish over all did dry pretty well , especially after I topped them with Always Transparent. No pulling, or smearing, either.

I love how much these reminds me of coffee/latte art. As a self confessed coffee addict, I love anything coffee related. & these shades just called to coffee inspired look!

What do you think about this coffee inspired drag marble? Does this look remind you of coffee? Have you checked out the new Essie x Révolutionnaire collection? You can purchase it via the Révolutionnaire.co site, or at your local Shoppers Drug Mart. Collection is out now!

Summer Geometric Vibes

Features Gifted Product in Exchange for Content

Hello lovelies & happy Friday! I hope everyone is having a lovely week — & is very excited about the weekend to be! It’s been so beautiful around here this week, I’ve been able to break out my favourite Summer dresses. It’s been awesome.

So obviously it’s been inspiring my nail polish choices. & thankfully I have those three beautiful OPI Nature Strong polishes from TradeSecrets.ca that are really perfect for Summer!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: OPI Natural Nail Base Coat
  • Top Coat: OPI Nature Strong Top Coat
  • OPI Nature Strong Cactus What You Preach
  • OPI Nature Strong Make My Daisy
  • OPI Nature Strong Emflowered
  • NailStuff.ca 16mm Striper Brush

How fun is this colour combination? I really like how the pink & the yellow pop again this base. Also this aqua/turquoise is such a poppy colour — I love it as my base shade. It’s such a good colour. Also these geometric lines are giving me old school 90s solo cup vibes.

What do you think about this look? Are you, too, feeling the Summer vibes with these warmer temperatures?

Let me know what shades you’re wearing right now to embrace Sunny days?

Bright & Summery Saran Wrap Splatter

Features Gifted Product in Exchange for Content

Hello lovelies & happy Thursday! It’s a beautiful sunny Thursday here, which is super exciting! It’s actually supposed to be warm & sunny. So naturally that means I need nails that are bright & fun to match.

Recently I teamed up with TradeSecrets.ca, which is a Canadian based online seller, & I picked a few new fun Spring/Summery nail polishes to add to my stash (along with a base coat & top coat). While I’ve followed along with TradeSecrets on Instagram, mostly for their hair products — because we all know I’m hair product obsessed — I was really excited to see all the fun nail related items they sell as well. They also have free shipping on all orders.

For my first look using these shades, I decided to go with a fun & easy Saran Wrap Splatter look.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: OPI Natural Nail Base Coat
  • Top Coat: OPI Nature Strong Top Coat
  • OPI Nature Strong Make My Daisy
  • OPI Nature Strong Cactus What You Preach
  • OPI Nature Strong Emflowered
  • Saran Wrap or some kind of crinkled thin plastic (I used some of an apple bag)

I really, really need to do a video tutorial for these, but I keep forgetting I want to until after I’ve painted my nails. But how fun did these turn out? I’m really loving these three shades! When I was browsing the TradeSecrets website, these were the three colours that screamed Summer to me most, so obviously I needed them in my life!

I definitely suggest trying out TradeSecrets.ca if you’re looking for a new place to easily pick up nail polish. They have a huge selection of OPI polishes, but also sell ORLY & Dip polish kits for those who like a longer lasting manicure. They were also kind enough to send along some hair products my way, so let me know if you’d like to see my thoughts on those as well!

What do you think about this cute design? Are you feeling these bright summery colours? Let me know what you think down in the comments below!
