St Patrick’s Day Rainbows 🌈🍀

Hello my loves, & Happy St Patrick’s Day! I

t’s another quiet year, obviously, but I had to do something fun on my nails. I had this image in my head of a rainbow over a pretty green, & I think that the end result turned out exactly how I had pictured. I even managed to sneak in a little holo too.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Top Coat: Essie Good to Go
  • Wrenn Polish I Know Guac Is Extra
  • Deborah Lippmann It’s Raining Men
  • Essie Sunshine State Of Mind
  • Essie Check Your Baggage
  • Essie Off Tropic
  • Sally Hansen Cerulean
  • Essie No More Film
  • Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Va Va Violet
  • Starrily Eclipse
  • NailStuff.ca 16mm Striper Brush

I love how these turned out, even though they were super time consuming haha. Who know 7 stripes of colour could be so much work. I also totally did my colours backwards, but you know what… I still think they’re awesome, & I hope you do too! & of course, I had to add a little holo to really bring my rainbow to life!

SWATCH SUNDAY — Deborah Lippmann 99 Luftballons

Hello lovelies & Happy Sunday! & happy Valentine’s Day! 💗💕 Hope your day is filled with every kind of love — from Friends, from Family, from Pets. & if you’re just not into the holiday what so ever, don’t forget: tomorrow is 50% off chocolate day.

Today I’ve got one more pink polish to share— Deborah Lippmann 99 Luftballons!

3 coats, no top coat.

Base is a beautiful, but sheer, fuchsia pink jelly with an assortment of multi coloured glitters. Like with most polishes like this, I would usually layer it over a corresponding shade to cut down on coats required — & keep clean up from being as complicated & frustrating. But for my swatches, I wanted to show the polish in its true glory.

I will say, I have a few glittery shades like this from Deborah Lippmann, & this shade versus Stronger was definitely a little less packed with glitters. If I wanted to wear this shade on its own, & cut down on coats, I would probably sponge the glitter on instead.

I would just make sure to wear a peel of base coat first!

I originally got this mini bottle as part of a bigger set via Winners a few years ago. From the looks of things, this shade was originally released in 2013, so the only listings I could find for it were via Ebay & Poshmark. It could also pop up at places like Winners, Marshall’s or TJMax as those stores seem to get old school shades like this all the time.

It’s definitely a pretty glitter to wear for whatever occasion you may need a little extra sparkle.

What do you think about Deborah Lippmann 99 Luftballons? Would you wear this pretty pink glitter? What is your favourite glitter polish? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!

Christmas-y Snowflake Sweater Nails

Good morning lovelies & Happy Friday! It’s a snowy Friday here on the East Coast, which is giving me serious holiday feels for the first time all month! ❄️ There is something about a blanket of freshly fallen snow that can make the biggest Grinch feel holly & holly. (Unless of course, you have to shovel it. Haha)

Today I thought I’d share some more pretty Christmas/Winter/Holiday nails. & yep, more stamping. A large majority of my stamping plates are Christmas related, hence why I tend to stamp more this time of year (also, it’s fast too, which I need when working 10 hour days haha.)

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Hard As Nails
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Glossy Top Coat
  • Matte Top Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Matte Top Coat
  • Deborah Lippmann Through the Fire
  • Essie No Place Like Chrome
  • Born Pretty Store Stamping Plate (no longer available)
  • NailStuff.ca Clear Stamper

Such a cute look for Christmas, or Winter in general. & a sweater inspired look is definitely a go-to design for me during this time of year. I’m just sad this particular stamping plate is no longer available, although I’m sure there are 1000 similar ones you can definitely find online. I just adore the little hearts in this pattern! 💗❄️ & of course, have to finish everything with a swipe of matte top coat, because it just completes the whole look!

What do you think about these cozy nails? Are you more of a fan of stamping, freehand, or nail vinyls? Let me know in the comments below!

SWATCH SUNDAY — Dipping into my Untrieds

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday! I was trying really hard to figure out what I should share for this weeks Swatch Sunday post, & realized I have a WHOLE lot of untried nail polish I have bought over the year (or was given to me) that I’ve never actually worn. Even once. So I thought it would be fun to grab a few of those neglected shades for this weeks Swatch post! So I posted a poll on my Instagram asking did people want to see Spring shades or untrieds, & while it was pretty close, 55% vs 45%, Untrieds won!

So let’s get to the polishes!

Freehand Daisies

Hello lovelies & happy Thursday. At least, I think it’s Wednesday. I feel like time has no real meaning during crazy times like this!

But I DO know that (tomorrow) Friday is the 20th, officially Spring, which is definitely something to get excited about! This winter has been long, & brutal, & not just because it seems like bad news is happening every 3 days. So in honour of it almost being Spring, let’s get hard into the floral. 🌼 Because floral makes everything better.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Good Kind Pure Hardener
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • Deborah Lippmann It’s Raining Men
  • White Acrylic Paint
  • Black Acrylic Paint
  • Yellow Acrylic Paint
  • NailStuff.ca Mermaid Tail Brush Trio (I used the 7mm liner brush) — use COFFEE10 to save 10% off your order

I attempted this manicure a while ago, using polish, but it did not turn out at all. I don’t tend to post my nail fails, but not every manicure I attempt turns out. Sometimes they are epic fails. So I decided to try this look again, just using acrylic paint again — & it worked.

I know I’ve mentioned it’s before but if you’re trying to get into nail art & struggling with hand painting, give acrylic paint a try. The best part about it is if you mess up what you’re drawing, you can just wash it off & start over again! Certainly makes things a bit easier.

I absolutely love daisies, they’re my absolute favourite flowers. But I haven’t worn them often on my nails just because I was scared of messing them up. I find roses so much easier to paint, because you can (usually) just keep adding layers to give it that petal appearance. Other flowers are a bit more difficult.

What do you think about this floral design? what is your favourite flower? What kind of flower do you think I should attempt next? I was thinking maybe tulips? I’ve never done tulips before.

Leave all your thoughts down in the comments below! I hope everyone is staying safe & healthy. ♥️
