Juicy Abstract Stripes

Hello lovelies & happy Thursday. It’s almost the weekend… who else is excited?! Of course, they’re calling for (another) big Winter storm Friday night into Saturday. So that’s… fun. I’m so over Winter & snow it’s not even funny! But you know what I’m not tired of–fun, bright nails!

This time, I was feeling some colours I haven’t worn in ages. Coral used to be a go-to nail polish shade for me, & I’m not sure when that changed. So when going through my stash, I was feeling some coral-y shades, & this is what I ended up with. Also, yes, more abstract stripes because they’re just so easy to do.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Millionails
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • OPI I Eat Maine-ly Lobster
  • OPI Can’t Hear Myself Pink
  • Essie Blanc
  • Starrily Vantablack
  • OPI Koala Bear-y
  • NailStuff.ca 16mm Striper Brush

I actually ended up wearing these nails for 4 days, which is unheard of for me. Usually I’m changing my nails after day 2, maybe day 3. But I loved these so much I couldn’t actually bring myself to change them until they were really actually chipped.

These nails remind me of nails I did years ago, that I was equally in love with. Those were definitely the inspiration for this look. I know these kind of manis are super popular on Instagram right now, & some people might be slightly sick of them, but to me they will never get old. They’re just so easy, & funky. You have no idea how many compliments I got for this look! It definitely made my nail art loving heart happy.

What do you think about this design? Do you enjoy these abstract stripes?

Glam Nails Challenge August — Peach 🍑

Hello lovelies & happy Monday!

Sorry for being MIA this weekend; this last week has been CRAZY & then I spent my Saturday in bed all day with a migraine, which put any blog work I was going to do on the back burner. But I’m back this morning with prompt #3 of #glamnailschallengeaug: Peach. & I decided to go with a bit of an abstract interpretation of the prompt with these peaches & cream inspired stripes.

I actually was struggling a bit with what I should do for this one. But once this idea popped into my head, I knew I wanted to do it!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Essie First Base
  • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Giant Peach
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Sunkissed
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Day Cream
  • NailStuff.ca 7mm detail brush

Oh man, these feel kind of retro, which is really fun!

I went out & bought 3 new Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear shades at Shoppers since they were on sale for $2.99 each, it’s been a long week, & I haven’t bought new a nail polish in a while. I thought these three shades really gave me the peaches & cream feels (plus they’re very pretty colours over all). & I’ve been obsessed with these retro inspired stripes that are all over Instagram right now.

What do you think about these peaches & cream inspired stripes? Do you like my take on the prompt, or is it a little too outside the lines haha. Let me know if you’d rock this peach inspired look in your nails, down in the comments, & don’t forget to pop over to Instagram & check out the other looks using the hashtag #glamnailschallengeaug.

Red, Navy & White

Hello lovelies & happy Thursday! Can’t believe this week is going by so quickly. But also, I have the next two days off work so I have big BIG plans. Cupboard organizing plans. It’s very exciting.

But first, how about some nail art? That’s what you’re all here for, right?

I finally decided to pull out my nail vinyls, because it’s been a while, haha. I was feeling coral/red with some stripe-y accent nails, so that’s exactly what I did. Actually I was inspired by this look after some Pinterest-ing, & thought it was be an excellent nail art combo.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • Illamasqua Aorta
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Get Mod!
  • Essie After School Boy Blazer
  • SnailVinyls straight nail vinyls (multiple thickness)

Such a classic combo, & I really like it. I feel like I’ve been neglecting my vinyls so much so it was nice to pull them out again. Plus I could never even attempt to freehand lines this straight. I also really like how simple this colour combo is, but that the red gives you that bright pop of colour. It’s definitely a fun combination. I might not wear a head to toe coral suit with striped shirt, but I can definitely achieve a similar look in my nails!

What do you think about this look? Wojld you wear a combination like this? Let me know in the comments below. & speaking of nail vinyls — I just stocked up on some mermaid vinyls from Beyond the Nail, so stay tuned for some fun mermaid nails to come!

Pastel Rainbow Accent Nail (with Sally Hansen Rainbow Lights)

{Features Gifted Product}

Hello lovelies & happy Tuesday!

Today I have done pretty rainbow nail art to share with you, inspired by the new Sally Hansen Rainbow Lights collection! I’m really, really loving this new collection, & the pastel shades, so I was inspired to create this swirly rainbow accent nail. This is also super easy nail art that I feel anyone with a mail art brush could create this look!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Shiny Top Coat
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Crying Out Cloud
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Tutu The Ballet
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Sweet Pea
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Sun-shower
  • OPI I Snow You Love Me
  • NailStuff.ca 16mm Striper Brush

Look how cute that accent nail is? Like I said in my Swatch Sunday post, I really love the pastel rainbow shades. & I really love how all these shades compliment each other so well! I also wanted to add a few rhinestones to my nails, but since I was wearing this to work & didn’t want rhinestones popping off in people’s coffees, I decided to pull out my bottle of OPI I Snow You Love Me! This polish has always been a favourite because of the tiny round holographic glitters. A great rhinestone alternative.
