Twinkling Snowflakes ❄️✨

Hello lovelies & happy Wednesday! Halfway through the week, & only 4 days away from December 1st. Who else hasn’t started their Christmas shopping yet?

Today I’m showing off more glittery nails on my shorties. I was feeling some handprinted snowflakes, since they’ve been all over my Instagram feed, so I decided to give them a go. & obviously, I needed a good base for them to pop over, so I picked some more sparkles. After all, ’tis the season for sparkle!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

How pretty did these little snowflakes turn out. I’ve never been the most comfortable free handing my snowflakes, but I was feeling pretty confident after watching way too many tutorial videos. & they turned out absolutely beautiful, & I’m very proud of that.

I’m trying not to get too Christmas-y on my nails yet, as Glam Nails Challenge December starts next Wednesday, & I’m going all in to end this year! There are so many great prompts, so I’m really excited for some fun designs to end this year strong.

What do you think of my twinkling snow flakes? Has it snowed where you are yet? We haven’t had anything more than a couple flurries, but they are calling for a potential snowstorm at the end of the week which is crazy!

Glittery Snow Globe Inspired Nails ❄️❄️❄️

Hello loves & happy Wednesday! A chilly, icy, windy Wednesday here. Winter is quickly approaching, so I feel like some snowflake nails aren’t completely out of the realm of possibility.

Don’t these just remind you of a snow globe? I love how they turned out. These were so super easy to do, & I love how beautiful they look. Plus the thick glossy top coat from NailStuff Essentials really sealed in the stickers so you don’t have to worry about any edges sticking up.

They just turned out so beautiful, & I love how that the colours are more subdued but then you also get the fun glitter.

What do you think about these glittery snowflake nails? Sadly, this was the last manicure I did with long nails — I had a pretty awful break after I wore them, & am now rocking some serious shorties. But they’ll be fun to do some Holiday nail art looks on my shorties, & also inspire those with shorties as well!

Holo Stamped Snowflakes ❄️

Hey beauties & happy Friday!

I’m trying to share at least one non-Glam Nails Challenge design each week, so I thought I would go for some snowflake stamped nails. Our Halifax weather is nothing close to snow right now–it’s currently, as I write this post, warm-ish & raining–so I thought if I wanted snow, I would need to put it on my nails.

& you know what is more fun than just snowflakes on your nails… holographic snowflakes on your nails.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Nailstuff.ca clear stamper & scraper set

Lots of holographic sparkle happening in the sunshine. This was not the easiest to photographic in the bright sun, I won’t lie, but I tried my best to capture the effect. The snowflakes really did show up well though, & I like the snowflake pattern. It’s really pretty.

There is just something about Christmas & snowflake nail art. It’s like Christmas, & watching The Muppets Christmas Carol: it just doesn’t feel like Christmas is coming without it. Also this again is not your traditional Christmas colour scheme, but I still like it. I love red nail polish, but I feel like I can overdo it a bit in December, so I’m trying to ration the red nail designs a bit.

Grey-scale Snowflakes

Hey! Guess what? There is still no snow in Halifax yet. Which is really keeping my Christmas spirit at bay. It’s hard to feel Christmas-y when it feels more like October than December. But you know, there is worse things in this world than no snow & at least I can wear snowflakes on my nails. & until we finally get that first big snow, you can pretty much expect to see me keep posting snowflake designs.

Silver Snowflakes ❄️

Is it too early for snowflakes? Probably (& I’m definitely not trying to encourage Mother Nature in any way) but my few Christmas/Winter plates were sitting on my desk the other night looking so lonely so I decided maybe some snowflakes would be pretty. 

I do a variation of this design pretty much every year, with varying levels of success haha. I love how it looks a bit like wrapping to me. Honestly, the only time I like snow is between December 20th & January 2nd, or when it’s painted on my nails. 

For my manicure, the polishes I used were: 

  • Base Coat: Essie Grow Stronger
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • Zoya Yves
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Buffalo Nickel 
  • Born Pretty Store Clear Jelly Stamper
  • Born Pretty Store Snowflake Stamping plate (no longer available) — this one (also Born Pretty) could be a good alternative. 
  • Edge Perfective Cuticle Barrier 

I was really impressed with how well Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Buffalo Nickel stamped. I find metallic shades can be so hit or miss when it comes to how well they stamp, but it turned out awesome! I thought about adding a bit of glitter in the middle of my snowflakes, but decided against it just in case I hated how it looked. 

We’re slowly creeping into the holiday season. We were at the grocery store yesterday & you could already hear Christmas carols being played! Trying my best to like Christmas this year, especially because it’s baby’s first Christmas (& my husband’s absolute favourite holiday!) so wish me luck. Maybe if I do enough Christmas manicures, it will subconsciously make me love it?
