70s Groovy Autumn Vibes 🍂✨

Hello lovelies & happy Monday. It is rainy, & gloomy, & humid outside, & I’m really not enjoying it. It has me dreaming of better days — aka, Autumn. I did my best, I tried my hardest, but honestly… I just love Fall. I love everything about Fall, & I can’t wait for it to be here! I want knee high boots, tights, & plaid skirts, okay?

So I felt like some fun Autumn-esque toned nails were exactly what I needed.

I also had a horrendous break on my middle finger while opening a bin of coffee beans at work, so a bit snip was in order. But just because my nails are super duper short, doesn’t mean they can’t be cute!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Strengthner
  • Top Coat: Sinful Colors Power Paint Top Coat + Essie Speed Setter
  • Essie Bare With Me
  • Essie Home After 8
  • Essie Frilly Lillies
  • Essie Cliffhanger
  • Essie Willow in the Wind
  • NailStuff 11mm Mermaid Tail Liner Brush

I love this colour combination together too. I picked out my colours before I knew what kind of design I was going to do, but it came together so fun! The colours work together so beautifully, & it is giving both 70s wallpaper vibes, & early Autumn.

My only gripe is a I wish I had mixed up my swirls & my flowers better so they alternated, but it’s such a small thing it doesn’t take away from how fun these look.

What do you think of this Autumn inspired look, featuring my brand new super shorties? Personally I’m really happy with how these turned out — & especially the colour combination. It’s giving just enough Fall vibes to keep this girl going until she gets her hands on her very first PSL.

Happy Tuesday!

Lavender & Gold Romantic Celestial Nails ✨🌙

Hello lovelies & happy Friday! The weekend is upon us… unless of course, you’re like me, & working the entire weekend.

Today though, I’m excited because I feel like I created one of the prettiest nail designs I’ve done in absolute ages. Soft, & romantic… I’m kind of (very) in love. I also feel like this is kind of a different look for me, but the vibe reminds me a bit of a pair of press on nails I tried out a few years ago that I loved.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Strengthner
  • Top Coat: Sinful Colors Power Paint Top Coat + Essie Speed Setter
  • Joe Fresh Gel Look Mauve-ulous
  • Revlon Daydreamer
  • Joe Fresh Gold Rush
  • Essie Get Your Groove On
  • Icing store nail stickers — the stars
  • NailStuff Mermaid Tail Brush — 7mm liner brush

I feel like I perfectly colour matched these nail stickers from Icing I’ve had in my stash for a good… 7 years, to the freehand lines & crescent moon I pained. They look so good together! I was also going to try & add some rhinestones to this look, but it was getting late, & I was so scared of messing up what I had already painted, so I kept them as it.

But aren’t they giving a fun celestial vibe? I was inspired by a few manicures I saw on Pinterest, & these stickers as well. So much so, that when I was at Dollarama, & saw a nail sticker kit with similar stickers, I had to buy it. I’m already planning on a similar vibe, with a mix of dark & light purples, closer to Halloween.

So what do you think of this celestial nail design? Do you just love the pattern & colour combo. I’m kind of obsessed with the shift on Revlon Daydreamer. It is absolutely dreamy.

Let me know what you think about this look, & let me know what kind of nail vibe you’d like to see in the future.

Glow-in-the-Dark Inspired Stars ⭐️

Hello lovelies & happy Tuesday! I hope you’re having a beautiful start to your week.

I’m starting my week off (ish) with a fun nail art look. It feels like absolute ages since I attempted any kind of nail art on my nails… I’ve mostly just been wearing solid colours, press on nails, or maybe like a glitter accent nail (very 2013). So it was kind of fun to dig into my nail desk box, find my good nail art brushes, & give some art a try.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Strengthner
  • Top Coat: Sinful Colors Power Paint Top Coat
  • Essie Bell Bottom Blues
  • OPI Suzi Shops & Island Hops
  • OPI That’s Hula-rious
  • Essie Bikini So Teeny
  • Quo by Orly Breathable De-stressed Denim
  • NailStuff Mermaid Tail Brush
  • Bobby Pin (couldn’t find my dotting tools haha)

So the inspiration behind this nail art look are glow-in-the-dark stars. Truthfully, I was seeing way too many videos of Hilary Duff’s Glow in the Dark star dress she’s wearing on tour, & this blue base was the perfect not-black shade, that I really wanted to see if I could freehand some stars on my nails!

& even though it’s been forever since I did any freehand designs on my nails, I’m so obsessed with how these turned out! Plus, I got complimented on them while out & about, so I feel pretty awesome about this nail art. They look exactly how I imagined them in my head!

What do you think about my glow-in-the-dark inspired star nails? Do these remind you of being a kid, like they do me? Would you wear this look? Let me know all your thoughts in the comments below & if you love them too!

Happy Wednesday darlings.

Spring Perfect Pastel Stripes 🌸🌼

Hello lovelies & happy Easter Monday (to those who celebrate!) It’s a brand new week, & the first full week of April. Maybe we’ll finally feel some more Spring-like temperatures, or — then again — maybe we won’t. But what I can definitely confirm is that I’m going to have some Spring-y nail art designs to share!

Starting with some fun Easter-esque Spring stripes. These kind of feel Easter egg adjacent, but I think the colours themselves are the just right amount of brightness for this time of year.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Maximum Growth
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive Gel Like Top Coat
  • OPI Where’s Suzi’s Man-go
  • OPI Gargantuan Green Grape
  • OPI Nature Strong Emflowered
  • OPI Nature Strong Cactus What You Preach
  • OPI Nature Strong  Make My Daisy
  • OPI Sickeningly Sweet
  • OPI Altar Ego
  • NailStuff.ca 16mm Striper Brush

So many pretty colours paired together. I ended up adding a swipe of OPI Altar Ego over my stripes to give it a bit of a muted, subdued look which I think added to the over all look of everything & gave it that more subtle Spring colour effect (if you know what I mean.)

Do you think these stripes are giving Spring/Easter? Do you like the muted effect I created using Altar Ego over top? Would you wear this look? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!

Enjoy your Monday!

Easy & Simple Spring Floral 🌼

Hello lovelies — & happy Wednesday!

& Happy April 1st. I hope everyone’s week is going okay. I don’t know about where you are, but here on the East Coast of Canada the weather is miserable–which is just more reason for Spring-y designs. The flowers may not be showing themselves in our garden, but at least I can wear them on my nails.

Today’s look is me wistfully wishing for some warmer, Spring-like days. Which, obviously, means floral!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Maximum Growth
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive Gel Like Top Coat
  • OPI Infinite Shine Mariachi Makes My Day
  • OPI Infinite Shine Shaking My Sugarplums
  • Essie Willow in the Wind
  • Essie Off Tropic
  • OPI I Cannoli Wear OPI
  • OPI Where Did Suzi’s Man-go?
  • Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Red My Lips
  • Sally Hansen Good. Kind. Pure. Peony Origins
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Montley Hue
  • NailStuff.ca 7mm Mermaid Tail Brush

This design started off as simply just a rose design, but after I had painted my roses I realized that something was missing, so I added a bit more greenery, & then a few of the white flowers (sort of daisies, but not really). & once I added my white flowers, I felt like it pulled everything together perfectly.

Is it a totally original floral look? Well, no.

Do I still absolutely adore the end result? Absolutely, yes. Especially where my nails are so short at this current moment in time, I feel like a floral design looks so beautiful & put together. Plus, the darker purple base is a little bit end of winter, with the floral adding the touch of Spring I’m desperately craving.

What do you think of this floral look? Do you like the combination of colours? Does it have you craving Spring as much as I am craving spring? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below.

& if it’s feeling like Spring where you are, I’d love to know! Give me some hope so warmer, sunnier days to come.
