Sideways Glitter Gradient using Olive & June’s New Flash Glitter Gel Polishes

contains PR/gifted product

Hello lovelies & Happy 2026! We made it!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas season, & holiday. It was definitely a weird one this year, but we survived & it’s a brand new year. I decided to take a bit of a break at the end of the year, BUT I did end 2025 with sparkle. Just before Christmas, I was sent some amazing nail mail from Olive & June featuring their brand new Flash Glitter Gel nail polishes — which was an amazing Christmas surprise!

So naturally I needed to wear these gorgeous shades for New Years Eve, & I decided to attempt a gradient using all these shades. I’ve not done a ton of nail art with gel polish, but I’m so happy with my sideways gradient! It looks like a rainbow going across my nails. I was definitely a little nervous going in, but I am so beyond in love with how this design turned out!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Olive & June Peel Off Base Coat
  • Base Coat: Olive & June Gel Base Coat
  • Top Coat: Olive & June Gel Top Coat
  • Olive & June Gel Sparkly Pink Drink (rose gold)
  • Olive & June Gel Pop Fizz Mani (gold)
  • Olive & June Gel Mani on the Dance Floor (grey silver)
  • Olive & June Gel Karaoke is a Good Time (purple)
  • Olive & June Gel Out Past Curfew (black)
  • Olive & June Gel Rosé Rhymes with Partay (pink)
  • Flat Nail Art Brush

I have to say — creating this gradient was not as hard as I thought it would be. The longest process was curing between each layer, but they came together so beautifully. & compared to other gradients, they were much harder to mess up. I used a flat nail art brush (clean up brush) to blend the two shades together, & it worked so perfectly. I’m kind of sad I wore these with a peel off base coat, because I could have easily worn these for a full week instead of just the night.

This was my first experience with flash glitter, & I get it now! The way it sparkles under flash is incredible. It makes me feel like a disco ball in the best possible way — & I think we all need to sparkle a little more this year. That’s definitely on my list of New Years resolutions for this year.

If you’re interested in trying out these Olive & June Glitter Flash Gel polishes, they have the whole set listed online (including gel lamp), or you can purchase the shades individually. They also have really cool Flash Glitter press on nails which I have not tried, but look really really cool, & would be a great option for someone who doesn’t want to (or cannot) wear gel nail polish!

What do you think about my New Years Eve nails — did I start my 2026 on the right foot finger? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below, & what your resolutions are for this year!

SWATCH SUNDAY —Essie Gel Couture Electric Geometric (Pattern Play Collection 2022)

Contains PR

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday.

I hope everyone had a lovely week. We had quite the balmy week here; Summer is in full swing. So you know I’ve been loving pops of colour on my nails! Today’s Swatch Sunday pick is so perfect for these hot July days we’ve been having: Essie Gel Setter Electric Geometric.

2 coats + Top Coat

I was kindly gifted this beauty of a shade by Essie a few months ago, when they also sent me New Highs from the Dopamine Rush collection. Electric Geometric is a beautiful fiery red cream, that applies very smoothly on the nail. 2 coats gives you fantastic opacity, which I like in a red nail polish. It was originally released as part of the Pattern Play collection in 2022, but then became part of the core collection.

I love how poppy this colour is. Red is always my go to shade, so this one is very fun to wear. It also has like a hint of pink undertones, which gives it a slight edge to my other reds (& it pairs very well also with orange/corals for nail art.)

Look at that red!

I stand by the statement that everyone needs a few good red in their collection for good measure. & if you’re looking to add to your red collection, this is a great option. I feel like this red would look fantastic on all sorts of skin tones.

Essie Gel Couture nail polishes generally retail between $11-$16 CAD, depending on where you’re buying it from. I do really like the formula on the Gel Couture line, & while I’m not sure if it lasts longer than other nail polishes — I’m very hard on my hands at work — it’s a great formula. & the top coat is awesome & dries very quickly!

What do you think about Essie Gel Couture Electric Geometric? Do you love this poppy vibrant red as much as I do? I’d love to know all your thoughts in the comments below, & what Summer-y shade you’re currently wearing on your nails!

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Pastel Geometric Lines

Hello loves & happy Thursday!

I hope everyone’s week has been going well. It’s be hot hot hot here on the East Coast, which I will never complain about! I love me a hot Summer day. Today it’s definitely cooler & just kind of muggy.

But you’re here for nails, not weather reports — & I have been busy trying to come up with fun nails to share! I’ll admit, after 11 years it can be hard to come up with brand new nail art designs for you. So, instead, I guess I’ll keep reinventing my old favourites.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter Top Coat
  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifier
  • Madam Glam Mimi Pink *
  • Madam Glam Minty Greek *
  • Madam Glam Birds Fairy *
  • Madam Glam Warm Up *
  • Quo by Orly Black Nail Art Striper

**pr/gifted

You can never go wrong with a dry brush geometric design!

These were so easy to do. Started off with the dry brush as my base using my 4 Madam Glam pastels–which blended together so well–& then used my striper to create the geometric design. The hardest part is probably drawing the black lines & making sure they don’t end up too thick (always my struggle, at least), but no matter what I think this is a striking design to do & wear!

What do you think about these pastel geometric design? She’s an oldie but a goodie!

I’m still on the hunt for new nail art designs to try, so feel free to share any designs you’d love to see me attempt! I’m trying not to go straight into craving Autumn designs (my favourite season for nail art) so help a girl out! I would be eternally grateful.

Happy Thursday!

SWATCH SUNDAY — Butter London Pure Colour 21X Piccadilly Prawn

Contains PR

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday! A beautiful Sunday at that. Today I’m excited because I recently received a little PR package from Butter London, containing the most beautiful Summer-y shade from their Pure Colour 21X line: Piccadilly Prawn.

2 coats + Top Coat

Look at this beautiful fiery coral! The formula itself is very creamy & easy to apply which I loved. The colour is a beautiful bright coral, but leans red. It’s very vibrant, & very beautiful. We all know I’m a sucker for any shade from this colour family, & I really adore how it looks on me.

The Butter London Pure Colour 21X line is a 21 Free product — meaning it is free of 21 of the chemicals that can sometimes be added to nail polish. It’s a cleaner alternative for those who are careful with what they wear — it is also vegan, cruelty free, gluten free & designed to help with nail strength. All in all, it’s a fantastic choice for painting your nails!

You can find Piccadilly Prawn on the Butter London website here, or it can be purchased where other Butter London products are sold.

What do you think of Piccadilly Prawn? Are you a fan of this Butter London shade? Personally, I think the name is super cute! I don’t have a ton of Butter London in my stash, but the ones I do have all have the cutest names.

Happy Sunday!
