Red, Navy & White

Hello lovelies & happy Thursday! Can’t believe this week is going by so quickly. But also, I have the next two days off work so I have big BIG plans. Cupboard organizing plans. It’s very exciting.

But first, how about some nail art? That’s what you’re all here for, right?

I finally decided to pull out my nail vinyls, because it’s been a while, haha. I was feeling coral/red with some stripe-y accent nails, so that’s exactly what I did. Actually I was inspired by this look after some Pinterest-ing, & thought it was be an excellent nail art combo.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • Illamasqua Aorta
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Get Mod!
  • Essie After School Boy Blazer
  • SnailVinyls straight nail vinyls (multiple thickness)

Such a classic combo, & I really like it. I feel like I’ve been neglecting my vinyls so much so it was nice to pull them out again. Plus I could never even attempt to freehand lines this straight. I also really like how simple this colour combo is, but that the red gives you that bright pop of colour. It’s definitely a fun combination. I might not wear a head to toe coral suit with striped shirt, but I can definitely achieve a similar look in my nails!

What do you think about this look? Wojld you wear a combination like this? Let me know in the comments below. & speaking of nail vinyls — I just stocked up on some mermaid vinyls from Beyond the Nail, so stay tuned for some fun mermaid nails to come!

Pastel Rainbow Accent Nail (with Sally Hansen Rainbow Lights)

{Features Gifted Product}

Hello lovelies & happy Tuesday!

Today I have done pretty rainbow nail art to share with you, inspired by the new Sally Hansen Rainbow Lights collection! I’m really, really loving this new collection, & the pastel shades, so I was inspired to create this swirly rainbow accent nail. This is also super easy nail art that I feel anyone with a mail art brush could create this look!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Shiny Top Coat
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Crying Out Cloud
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Tutu The Ballet
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Sweet Pea
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Sun-shower
  • OPI I Snow You Love Me
  • NailStuff.ca 16mm Striper Brush

Look how cute that accent nail is? Like I said in my Swatch Sunday post, I really love the pastel rainbow shades. & I really love how all these shades compliment each other so well! I also wanted to add a few rhinestones to my nails, but since I was wearing this to work & didn’t want rhinestones popping off in people’s coffees, I decided to pull out my bottle of OPI I Snow You Love Me! This polish has always been a favourite because of the tiny round holographic glitters. A great rhinestone alternative.

What do you think about this pastel rainbow accent nail? Would you create easy nail art like this? Let me know all your thoughts in the comments below!

Spring-y Ruffian

Hello lovelies & happy Tuesday! I’m trying to combat the grey sky lockdown blahs with some bright & colourful nails.

I was recently at Walmart, & felt like I needed a nail polish pick me up, so I grabbed a few new-to-me shades in some bright colours I wouldn’t usually go for. I thought I needed to brighten things up a bit. & when trying to figure out what would be a nice design to do, I decided a ruffian design would be perfect!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • Essie Gel Couture Zip Me Up
  • Sinful Colours Track $tar

I really really like how this design turned out. I always feel like ruffian designs are hit or miss with me — either they turn out amazing & perfect, or I completely muck them up! So I was really happy that this attempt turned out so perfectly. I also got a chance to use this new-to-me Sinful Colours shade which is such a pretty colour, & very outside my comfort zone.

What do you think about this ruffian design? Are you feeling the bright colours as much as I am lately? Let me know what you think down in the comments below!

SWATCH SUNDAY — Julep Hallie

Good morning lovelies! & happy Sunday.

I hope you had a lovely, lovely week. I wish I had good things to say about my week, but after the announcement of lockdown #3 (&some very public evidence of people partying regardless), I’m feeling a bit down with everything.

But you know what makes me happy? Nail polish! & sharing fun nail polish swatches. So I dug through my stash & found a fun shade to share.

2 coats, no top coat

This is Julep Hallie which is from their It Girl line (I… think). It says 2015 on it, so I’m assuming that’s the year it was released? I don’t have much experience with the Julep brand, aside from one of their shades that I found at Winners for like $2 about 10 years ago. So I’m not sure how their releases went, & to be honest Google was not the most helpful haha.

As you can see, this is a beautiful ocean blue holographic polish (that leans a little turquoise). The holo was a bit more subtle than other holos I own, but pretty nonetheless. I did take my swatch photos with flash to try & get it to show up better, but I feel like sunshine shows it off best of all.

Overall, the formula was really smooth & easy to apply. A little less rainbow as other holos, but the colour is beautiful so it makes up for that. & if I’m really wishing for more of a holo punch, I can easily apply one of my holo toppers over top to add some extra rainbow.

What do you think about Julep Hallie? Do you own this shade in your stash?

Holo Stripes

Hello lovelies & happy Wednesday.

The sun is shining, the weather is warm, & I got to wear a dress yesterday. That’s about all the good from this week, & exactly what I’m going to concentrate on. & you know what else warm sunny days mean? More holo! Because there is nothing better than sunshine & holo.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Top Coat: Essie Good to Go
  • China Glaze BFF
  • Color Club Eternal Beauty
  • China Glaze OMG
  • China Glaze IDK
  • Essie Go Ginza
  • NailStuff.ca 16mm Striper Brush

I am absolutely smitten with how this look turned out. Yes, I’m a bit holo obsessed, but I a world full of chaos & sadness, we need a little sparkle every once in a while. This look was also super, super easy to do which I’ve been appreciating more & more lately. A few quick but steady stripes of polish & you’re in business! Looks way more complicated than it truly is.

What do you think about my holo stripes? Would you wear a look like this? What holo polishes would you combine? Let me know in the comments below!
