Autumn Tonal Skittle πŸπŸ‚πŸŒ»

Good morning loves & happy Wednesday. We’re mid-week through the first week of September! & tomorrow marks the first day of school around here. So it’s a very exciting week all around!

It’s also feeling very Autumn-y, so I’m excited to share some skittle nails which match the mood. (& would be perfect to wear while sipping some apple cider or a pumpkin spice latte!) πŸπŸ‚

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Top Coat: Essie Good To Go Top Coat
  • Base Coat: Essie Hard to Resist (purple)
  • China Glaze Buffalo Bills Bills Bills (thumb)
  • China Glaze Modern Auburn (index)
  • China Glaze Spice to Meet You (middle)
  • China Glaze Loves You A Latte (ring)
  • China Glaze The Snuggle is Real (pinky)
  • Essie Separated Starlight *pr

I think China Glaze is one of my favourite brands for Autumn nail polish releases. The colours, the formulas β€” just perfection.

I love a good Fall tonal skittle. It’s so much fun combining some of my favourite Autumn shades for a quick & easy look β€” & the use of the glitter brings everything together even more!

What do you think about this Fall skittle look? Do you love this combination of colours as much as I do? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below.

Pastel Marble Sponging

Hello lovelies & happy Wednesday. A brand new week β€” & this month is certainly speeding quickly by. It’s already the 13th of August, & while that means I’m that much closer to PSL season, the velocity at which this Summer is passing can slow down just a smidge.

Today’s nail art look was kind of a happy accident. Originally I was going to try to create some pastel galaxies, but it turned into more of a marble effect. Either way, I think they turned out absolutely stunning. & I love them.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Top Coat: Essie Good To Go Top Coat
  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifier
  • Sensationail Nailtural Born to Explore
  • Essie Mint Candy Apple
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Beatnik
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Feelin’ Grape
  • Essie Separated Starlight
  • Latex free Make Up Sponge

Such a neat effect. & I added the little bit of sparkle to give it a more dimension effect & I really think it looks cool. Like little geodes on my nails.

What do you think about this marble nail effect? Do you like the combination of colours? Let me know what you think down in the comments below! I’ve been really trying to switch up & do some new nail art looks I haven’t done in a while β€” so please share any old designs you’d love to see me recreate!

Happy Wednesday

SWATCH SUNDAY β€” Essie Gel Couture New Highs πŸ’™(Dopamine Rush Collection 2025)

PR/Gifted

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday. Unfortunately, it’s a pretty blah rainy Sunday (again). But I thought I would punch things up with a fun Essie colour I was recently sent for PR! This is Essie New Highs from the newly released 2025 Gel Couture Dopamine Rush collection.

2 coats + Essie Gel Couture Top Coat

Described as a β€œUltramarine” Blue on the Essie website, I feel like this blue is much more exciting on the nail than in the bottle. The formula is on the thinner side, so two coats was a must for opacity. The formula dries quickly, but an added coat of top coat gave it a more plush finish.

The colour is really nice. It’s not a navy, but it’s not a cobalt. It feels bright, even though it’s on the darker spectrum of blue shades. & I quite enjoy it! Also, looking at the rest of the shades in the collection, I might have to search out a couple more to add to my stash.

Essie Gel Couture shades are available anywhere you buy Essie, ranging in price from $11.49 CAD to $16.49 CAD (when not on sale).

What do you think of Essie Gel Couture New Highs? Are you a fan of this vibrant blue? What are your thoughts on the Essie Gel Couture line? I was definitely late to trying it, but I’m a huge fan of the formula & love all the colours I own! & I especially adore the top coat! It has a great lasting quality & dries quickly.

Let me know what you think down in the comments below!

Enjoy your Sunday!

Purple Glazed Half Moons

Hello lovelies & happy Friday! The weekend is almost upon us.

I’m sure if you’re any part of the nail art community, you’ve heard that glazed donut nails are all the rage right now. Initially sparked by Hailey Beiber, everyone has been doing their version of the glazed donut manicure on Instagram. So I thought: why not take a stab at my own version, inspired by the trend. I also recently picked up a pretty sheer purple by Essence cosmetics which I thought would give me a similar effect.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & ShineΒ
  • Top Coat:Β Essie Gel Setter
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Central Pink
  • Essence Cosmetics Violet Voltage
  • Essence Cosmetics Oh My Glitter!
  • Wet n Wild 2% Milk
  • Paper Hole Renforcements
  • Teeny dotting tool (NailStuff.caΒ Dotting Tool Trio)

Naturally, & unsurprisingly, I’m very obsessed with how these nails turned out. I love the sheerness of Essence Violet Voltage really gives that glazed donut effect. & even though it’s not exactly like the glazed donut nails of my fellow Instagramers, I like this nail art take on the look — especially with the negative space moon touch.

It’s the same vibe, but with my own personal touch to it!

Have you heard about the glazed donut trend — have you tried it out yourself yet? Stay tuned, because I recently received a fun PR package from Sally Hansen, which included another way to achieve the glazed donut trend!

Have a fabulous day lovelies!

Fall OmbrΓ©

Hello lovelies & Happy Wednesday! I don’t know about where you are, but here in Halifax the weather is already starting to have that gorgeous Fall chill. It also has me thinking about Fall Manicure ideas, & one design I’ve been seeing pop up on my Instagram feed is the ombrΓ© look. A few years ago, ombrΓ© designs were super popular, & one of my favourites. So I can’t lie, I’m so pumped that ombrΓ© nails are making me a resurgence!

For those wondering the difference between an ombrΓ© & a gradient, an ombrΓ© is when you wear a different colour on each nail, while a gradient blends a few colours together on each nail.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Currently wearing soak off gel to grow out my natural nail.
  • Top Coat: Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat
  • Cosmetic Arts Baby Pink (no name)
  • L’OrΓ©al Jardin Des Roses
  • Kosmic Colours dusty dark pink (no name)
  • ORLY Red Rhapsody
  • Essie Carry On
  • Wet n Wild 2% Milk (to make my pinky & ring finger look more dusky)

I’ve done a few ombrΓ© manicures over the years in different colour schemes, but I was really feeling something dusky, in the rose family. This combination really felt like it suited our increasingly Autumn-like weather. On my pinky & ring finger, I applied 2% milk over my lighter pink shades so they would match closer with the rest of my colours.

Ah, this makes me so happy! I’m so glad that this design has come back into rotation & is cool again. Not that I care that much about being trendy — my love of crackle nail polish will attest to that — but it certainly gives me a great excuse to wear multiple shades at once.

(Like I need any excuse to paint my nails!)
