Drippy Blood Nails 🩸

*contains PR

Good morning lovelies & happy Monday! It’s a beautiful but oh so chilly morning. It’s also officially the countdown to Halloween, so my goal is to share a Halloween themed nail look every day leading up to Halloween.

& my first Halloween look to share are some freehand drippy blood nails!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: NailStuff Essentials Base Coat *
  • Top Coat: Nail Stuff Essentials Quick Dry Top Coat *
  • Essie Bourdeax *
  • Ella + Mila Everglow *
  • Essie Gel Couture Rock the Runway *
  • Nailstuff.ca Mermaid Tail 7mm liner brush
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio

*gifted

I always love when people post their drippy blood nails, so I had to give it a try. The red on red also looks very cool! These would be an awesome manicure to wear if you were doing like a vampire costume. Kind of reminds me of Drusilla from Buffy!

What do you think of my drippy blood nails for Halloween? Have you picked your Halloween nails yet? Let me know all your thoughts & let me know what you’ll be wearing.

Have a great Monday!

SWATCH SUNDAY — Claire’s Poison Apple 🍎

Good morning lovelies & happy Sunday! It’s a beautiful Autumn Sunday, cool & crisp. It’s also the last Sunday of October, if you can believe it. How is this month almost over?

Even though I have some really exciting shades from Ella + Mila to share with you, I wanted to close off this month with a slightly Halloween adjacent shade with Claire’s Poison Apple.

This shade was the third in the collection they released in the early 2010s as dupes for the MAC Villainous collection — click to see the swatches of Evil Queen & Venomously.

3 coats + top coat

This beautiful foil red takes a few coats for perfect opacity, but it’s worth the work (& dry time). The formula is a metallic red with micro flakies. It has a subtle gold shift, although it shows up better in the bottle on the nail (as is the trend with this mini collection). For an almost 15 year old nail polish, the formula is still great & I had no issues with application.

Look at that metallic finish—so pretty! I love colour for this time of year. I do wish that you see that gold shift on the nail like you can in the bottle, but it’s beautiful nonetheless. & I’m so happy that I have all three in my stash, especially because I didn’t original think that I did have a full set.

What do you think of Claire’s Poison Apple? Do you like this villainous red? Do you think Claire’s should do another release like this? Let me know all your thoughts in the comments below!

Easy Halloween Skittle with Ella + Mila

Hello lovelies & happy Thursday! The countdown is officially on — we have one week until Halloween! Guess it is time to sneak in as many Halloween manicures as I can!

Today we’re starting off easy with some Halloween nail art stickers on a skittle. I was recently gifted some beautiful polishes from Ella + Mila, & I thought they would be a fun base for some new Dollarama nail art stickers! So I paired the colours together with a few simple stickers & I think it turned out so fun. Chic & simple.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Ella + Mila All About The Base (Base Coat) *
  • Top Coat: Ella + Mila In A Rush (Top Coat) *
  • Ella + Mila Oasis *
  • Ella + Mila Dragonfly *
  • Ella + Mila Violet Skies
  • Ella + Mila Zephyr *
  • Dollarama Halloween Nail Art Stickers

How beautiful are these shades from Ella + Mila? I feel like these colours are perfect for Halloween nail art that’s not typical colours. I mean, I feel like purple & orange are classic Halloween colours, but the dark purple & pink do work as well too. I will have full Swatches of the whole collection I was send coming hopefully this weekend, or the next. But I couldn’t wait to put on a few of the shades as soon as I received them! They’re just so beautiful.

(You can use THIS LINK to check out their site — it is an affiliate link so thank you if you use it!)

& I recently found more fun new Halloween nail art stickers at my local Dollarama store, so naturally I needed to use them immediately. For $1.25 they’re such a steal!

What do you think about this manicure? Do you like this Halloween skittle? Would you wear this design? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!

Happy Thursday.

*contains PR

Hello my lovelies & happy Tuesday!

I know, I’ve kind of switched up my usual posting schedule but only because the last little while has been a bit crazy! But I’ve got another fun manicure to share with you, featuring another favourite October polish. & I’m really happy with how the design turned out.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: NailStuff Essentials Base Coat *
  • Top Coat: Nail Stuff Essentials Quick Dry Top Coat *
  • OPI DS Extravagance
  • NailStuff Essentials Holographic Top Coat *
  • Essie Home By 8 *
  • Nailstuff.ca Mermaid Tail 7mm liner brush

I used to do hand painted swirl designs like this all the time when I first got into nail blogging, but it’s been a while since I did one so it felt like the right time. It’s a cross between like a paisley & a kind of lace design, I guess? I decided to add another layer of holo over my base of OPI DS Extravagance which gave it even more of a POW! effect & I love it.

Just give me all the sparkle. I really, really am craving sparkle, especially with these much shorter days we’ve been having.

What do you think of this holo swirl design? Do you like this hand painted design? Let me know all your thoughts in the comments below, & tell me what your favourite holographic polish is!

Happy Tuesday

SWATCH SUNDAY — Essie Not A Phase

*pr/gifted

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday! A beautiful Autumn Sunday. Today I’m sharing a lovely new shade with you I was recently gifted by my friends at Essie. They were kind enough to send me a whole slew of beautiful polishes, & as soon as I saw the dusty red (& the name!) I knew it was going to be the first swatch I had to share with you.

This is Essie Not A Phase.

2 coats + top coat

Okay, we all know my love for red is undying. What you might not know is my love of Emo & Pop punk music (especially between 2002-2010) is equally unwavering. So when I saw the name of this shade, I knew that it was going to become a favourite.

The formula on this polish is fantastic. It’s very opaque. I did two coats, but honestly I probably could get away with one with careful application. The shade is a nice change from the usual cherry red, which it’s more dusty colour. Very fitting for this time of year & the changing leaves on the trees.

Oh man, I’m kind of obsessed with this shade. It would be so fitting in an Autumn toned skittle which I may have to do soon! So if you’re looking for a different shade of red — I definitely recommend searching this one out!

Even better, this shade is in the current core collection, so you’re able to pick this polish up wherever Essie nail polish is sold.

What do you think of Essie Not A Phase? Do you love this red as much as I do? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!

Happy Sunday
