Lover Inspired Nails (in honour of my little birthday Swiftie)

Hello lovelies & happy Wednesday! Today is a very special Wednesday because it is my baby girls 6th birthday. 🎉 🎂

So crazy to believe that she’s 6 already!

I wanted to create some special nails in her honour, & since her favourite thing right now is Taylor Swift — well obviously taut is where my inspiration came from. She also told me I should do nails that were pink, blue & yellow with hearts — & as soon as she told me that, Taylor’s Lover era popped into my head. & since Cruel Summer has been playing on repeat at our house, it fit perfectly.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter Top Coat
  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifier
  • Essie Bikini So Teeny
  • Butter London Coming Up Roses *pr
  • Claire’s Scented Nail Polish Orange
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Violet Voltage
  • Essie Gel Couture Gossamer Garments *pr
  • Nails INC Heartfelt Holidays
  • Claire’s Mini Glitter Shade (no name)
  • Nailstuff.ca Mermaid Tail 7mm liner brush

How pretty does this manicure look? I love the Lover vibes it’s giving. If this isn’t the perfect manicure to wear while belting out Cruel Summer, I don’t know what is.

& my little girl was so excited to see these nails! She’s having a Taylor Swift inspired birthday party with her friends next month, & she is already planning her nails for the occasion.

What do you think about these Taylor Swift inspired birthday nails? Do you love them as much as I do? Would you wear them? Let me know all your thoughts in the comments below!

Happy Wednesday lovelies — enjoy some cake today in honour of my little girl.

SWATCH SUNDAY — Ultra HD Snap! Makin’ The Most (Trying the Butter Nails 🧈 Trend)

Hello lovelies & happy Easter. I hope no matter how you celebrate, you’re enjoying the day. & the Easter Bunny left you some goodies.

Today I’m sharing another fun Revlon Ultra HD Snap! shade. I don’t know if you’ve seen all the hype about butter nails on social media — but this shade is very on trend! This is Makin’ The Most.

2 coats + top coat

This beautiful butter yellow applied to opacity in 2 coats — although it did benefit from a layer of top coat to smooth things, as it was a bit patchy. I chalk that up to the light formula more than anything. Pastels are usually a bit more patchy than darker shades, but I definitely didn’t want to do a 3 coat as it would have just been too thick.

I’m not usually much of a yellow person (except when used in nail art designs) but I do appreciate how bright & sunny these are! They’re definitely fun to wear, especially when Spring weather is more gloomy & rainy than sunny & bright.

I can definitely understand why butter nails are all the rage. We all need a little sunshine sometimes.

Revlon Ultra HD Snap! polishes retail for $10.49 CAD at my local Shoppers Drug Mart — although they’re on sale this week for $7.99 CAD. This range has a great selection of shades, but if you’re looking to jump on the butter nails trend, this is definitely a great pick!

What do you think about this shade? Have you tried the butter nails trend yet? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!

Have a Hoppy Easter!

Instagram Nail Art Collab — Evergreen 🌲

Hello lovelies & happy Friday! & happy Hanukkah to all that celebrate! Today I’m excited to share the manicure I did for the Evergreen Nail Art Collab on Instagram, hosted by the ever so lovely @essieyall & @petitenaillover.

This month’s theme is Evergreen, & so I decided to go simple with some hand painted bare evergreen branches.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Colour Grip Primer Base Coat
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • Color Club Label-less grey
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Me, My Elf & I
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Wet My Thistle
  • Sally Hansen InstaDri Jazzy Jade
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Oh My Coffee
  • NailStuff.ca 7mm liner brush

I’ve done some version of this manicure every Winter/Christmas for the last couple years, but it never gets dull or old to me. This version is a bit more subdued than previous versions, but I love how it turned out. I’m always so excited to participate in this monthly challenge, & create something fun with the prompt given.

Instagram Coffee Nail Art Collab ☕️🤎

Hello lovelies & happy Friday! This has been quite a week, so I’m a little happy it’s over — even if it does mean saying goodbye to spooky season. But I did join the monthly nail art collab hosted by @essieyall & @petitenailslover again this month, & I’m super excited to share my design… especially because the prompt is COFFEE!

& if there is one thing I love as much as nail polish , it’s coffee.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essence Colour Grip Base Coat
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • Matte Top Coat: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Matte Top Coat
  • Essie Expressie Cold Brew Crew
  • Wet n Wild 2% Milk
  • Acrylic Paint
  • NailStuff.ca 9mm Mermaid Tail Liner Brush

I was going for a latte art design, so I used acrylic paint because I knew that I was going to need to be able to erase any mistakes — & I was right! This look took longer than expected to do, but I think it turned out just like the coffee art I used to do when I was a barista.

& I hope when you look at it, you can totally see what it’s supposed to be!

Don’t forget, you can check out the other designs through the hashtag #coffeenailartmanicollab2023 on Instagram. & down below, you can check out all the fun coffee themed designs collaged together. Everyone did such an awesome job!

What do you think of my coffee design? Does it totally scream latte to you? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!

& let me know what your favourite holiday coffee drink is!

Instagram Leaves Nail Art Collab 🍁🍂

Hello loves & happy Friday! & Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians! Today we’re taking the day off from Glam Nails Challenge for another fun Instagram nail art collab. I’ve enjoyed jumping into this collab a every month — hosted by @essieyall & @petitenailslover.

I’m very excited because this month’s prompt is leaves & I do love a good Fall leaves design.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Colour Grip Primer Base Coat
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat
  • Essie Lady Like
  • Revlon Spidey Sense
  • Sally Hansen InstaDri SCRAM!
  • Essie Mosaic On Down
  • Finger Paints Surreal Sunset
  • NailStuff.ca Clear Stamper
  • Born Pretty Store Stamping Plate BP-L026

I really wanted to created a layered leaves look, to mimic like a pile of leaves on the ground. Think I went with too light of a base though — a darker one probably would have allowed for the stamped leaves to pop more! But I do still love how it looks, & I think it’s such a pretty look.

Down below, you can see all the beautiful designs collaged together. You can check out #leavesnailartmanicollab2023 on Instagram to see all the participants & they’re beautiful designs.

What do you think about my fun leaves design? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below. & if you’re celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend, enjoy! 🍁🖤
