Purple & Gold Dotticure 💜✨

Hey beauties, happy Wednesday!

It’s another snowy Wednesday here, which is making this December feel very festive. I think this is the most snow we’ve had in a December in longer than I can remember. Now if only I could get enough holiday spirit to get my shopping finished.

Today I’m sharing a pretty holiday-esque design. Not outright Christmas, but using some older season Holiday polishes so I feel like it counts! Plus it wouldn’t look out of place at a Holiday party while you drink too many eggnogs!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Cure
  • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
  • Morgan Taylor Plum-thing Magical (2017 Little Miss Nutcracker collection)
  • OPI Rolling in Cashmere (Gwen Stephanie Holiday 2014 collection)
  • Small-ish dotting tool

Oh goodness, I just adore a good dotticure. The gold looks lovely against the purple-y plum base, especially with its shimmer. This is such a simple look to do, but eye catching at the same time. I love it! & sometimes I just need to rock a colour other than red or green, you know?

What do you think of the glam dotticure? Would you wear a design like this? Can you believe we’re two weeks away from Christmas Eve, & 15 days away from Christmas morning? Crazy!

Happy Wednesday

Golden Drag Marble

Hello lovelies & happy Monday. Well, as happy as a Monday can be in November. They’re calling for snow today on my side of the country, but not sure if it’s going to amount of anything. But… can it be Summer again? I miss Summer.

Today I have a really pretty nail art look to share with you, leaning into these late Autumn vibes. 🍁🍂 The colour scheme is pure Fall, & I really enjoy how it turned out!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Cure
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen InstaDri Top Coat (red bottle)
  • ORLY Buried Alive
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Terra Coppa
  • Essie Frock ‘n Roll
  • Essie Nail Art Studio Cosmic Chrome
  • Wide Nail Art Brush

So I tried a bit of a different technique for this marbling, with a wider nail art brush (like the side of a clean up brush) versus the skinny dotting tool I usually use, & I like the effect it gave me. Kind of reminds me more of a real stone. Sometimes I find with a dotting tool I end up muddling my marble a bit, but this way didn’t do that which I really like!

& the colours compliment each other so well. I love the bronze-y golden look of it all together. It’s definitely giving Autumn vibes.

What do you think of this golden drag marble design? Do you like the kind of wider marble effect versus my usual drag marble designs?

GLAM NAILS CHALLENGE DECEMBER (2024) — Christmas Plaid

Hello loves & happy Monday! It’s a sunny albeit chilly Monday here. Definitely feeling like December — although a sprinkling of snow might have been nice. But today is the next prompt for Glam Nails Challenge December, & it is Christmas plaid.

I’m not 100% sure what a Christmas plaid is, though I would assume one done in your typical Christmas colours would make sense. So that’s what I did for today’s look! & they are certainly feeling Christmas-y.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: NailStuff Essentials Base Coat *
  • Top Coat: Nail Stuff Essentials Quick Dry Top Coat *
  • Santee Magnetic Nail Polish Sandburst
  • Essie Bordeaux*
  • Essie Off Tropic *
  • NailStuff Essentials White Dove *
  • Quo by Orly Black Striper
  • Nailstuff.ca Mermaid Tail 7mm liner brush
  • Largest size from NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio

*PR/gifted

Ooooh I love how these look. I tried to give this magnetic shade a velvet finish. Honestly think I might have to invest in one of those fancy U-shaped magnets in the new year if I’m going to be playing with my magnet shades more frequently.

I love the hold with the plaid pattern over top, as opposed to using the gold as an accent.

What do you think about my Christmas plaid nails? Are you a fan of this look? Let me know all your thoughts on this look, & if it feels Christmas-y to you.

SWATCH SUNDAY — Color Club What’s The Matte-r?

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday! A beautiful October Sunday. The Fall vibes are really vibing as of right now, & I just want to drink all the pumpkin spice & eat all the candy corn! I also want to wear all sorts of great Fall nail polishes & colours.

I was perusing through my nail polish stash, looking for a good Autumn shade to share, & found a set of a Color Club mattes that I realized I’ve never shared those shades! I love a good matte nail this time of year, so I decided to grab the most Autumn-esque shade to share.

This is Color Club What’s The Matte-r?

2 coats

This beautiful metallic olive green is a super unique colour I definitely wouldn’t buy on its own in the store — but I happened to get it as part of set at Marshall’s with other Color Club mattes. & honestly, I think I need to be less judgemental about colour because this shade is freaking gorgeous!

Seriously, the olive green somewhat gold shift is super stunning & unique. You also get flashes of a darker green in some light — it’s just flat out beautiful. & I think it’s a great Autumn shade which is an alternative to my usual dark purple, blues & maroons that I tend to reach for this time of year.

Up close you can see that lovely matte finish. It self levels really well, dries down very smoothly, & doesn’t show brush strokes too badly.

& just for fun, I wanted to see how it looked with a glossy top coat applied. & honestly, I prefer the matte version more. It’s much more striking & beautiful! Just feels like a crispy Fall leaf that has fallen on the ground.

Looking online, it appears to still be available on the Color Club website, so if you’re looking for a beautiful unique Autumn shade option, I would say snatch it up!

What do you think of Color Club What’s the Matte-r? Would you wear this matte beauty? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!

GLAM NAILS CHALLENGE SEPTEMBER (2024) — Autumn Leaves 🍁🍂

Good morning lovelies & happy Monday! It’s a beautiful day, feeling ever so Autumn-like, so I feel like today’s manicure is the perfect match. We’re onto the next prompt of Glam Nails Challenge September, which is Autumn leaves. 🍁🍂

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie First Base
  • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
  • Essie Vested Interest
  • Essie Leggy Legend
  • NailStuff.ca Clear Stamper
  • Born Pretty Store Stamping Plate BP-L026

How cute did these turn out? My stamping did show up a little bit lighter than I was hoping, but I do love how pretty this colour combination is! Also I’ve been having so much fun digging through all my polishes of Autumn’s past & pulling out some forgotten favourites — like these beauties from Essie.

What do you think about this design? Are you enjoying the prompts so far this month? I know I certainly am enjoying all the Fall-themed prompts, & I’m excited to share more!
