Neon Glitter Gradient ☀️😎

Hello lovelies & happy Tuesday! It’s going to be a very nice warm Spring-y Tuesday, so I feel like today’s manicure is perfect for warmer days!

I was feeling something bright, neon & poppy — & this manicure is all of those things!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifer
  • Top Coat: LA Girl Rapid Dry Top Coat
  • Ardene Bright Lights, Big City
  • Essie Expressie FX Iced Out
  • China Glaze Let The Beat Drop

These feel really fun. I like the pink/orange glitter over the bright neon yellow— which is not a colour I wear frequently—& the little shimmer from Iced Out.

How much fun are these?! I’m so ready for consistently warmer days.

What do you think of my neon glitter gradient? Is it giving off Summer vibes? Let me know all your thoughts in the comments below!

Happy Tuesday!

SWATCH SUNDAY — China Glaze Blue Iguana (& some bonus sparkle ✨)

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday! The first Sunday of November, if you can believe it! Sadly, I’m starting off November with some extra short nails thanks to a bad, bad break at work on Friday.

So I wanted to make my nails feel extra pretty, so I dug through my stash & landed on this sparkly old school China Glaze shade. This is China Glaze Blue Iguana.

2 coats + top coat

Blue Iguana was originally released as part of the 2011 Summer Island Escape collection. It has an electric blue foil finish with a great micro shimmer. The formula was fairly thin, but I had adequate coverage in 2 coats. It also appears lighter on the nail than in the bottle, which was kind of a bummer — but maybe an extra coat or two would have fixed that. I also wish you could see more of the purple duochrome flash on the nail, as much as you can see it in the bottle. But it’s still beautiful regardless.

I was feeling like my short, stubby nails needed a bit more sparkle, so I pulled another oldie (released around the same time) from Icing to add a little pizazz: Icing Radio Super Star.

1 coat over Blue Iguana + top coat

I was actually really impressed with how closely the blue glitters in Radio Super Star matched Blue Iguana. It has a clear base with blue micro glitter, fuschia hex glitters & these fun silver star glitter. What you see above is just one coat over my base — & I had great luck with getting the star glitters onto the nail with minimal fishing.

It gave me exactly the sparkle I was craving to cheer myself up!

How are you feeling up these two fun polishes both together & apart? I feel like it’s just a smidge too early for holiday polishes (although I’m keeping my eyes open!) but I may see what glitter shades I can pull out for this month.

Have a happy Sunday!

Barbie Glitter Nails 💗

Hello lovelies & happy Friday!

It’s a beautiful sunny Summer day here, & I feel like these nails are perfect for a Summer day. I actually wore this look most of the week, which is very unusual for me, so I figured I had to share! It’s a simple look, but also is a little extra fancy compared to just a plain design. & it’s giving me serious Barbie vibes.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Londontown KUR Nail Hardener & Base Coat
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive Fast Dry
  • Essie Worth the Tassel
  • ACO by Ardene Pop To It

I was actually debating which glitter I should apply over Worth the Tassel, as I have a few neon glitters from Ardene. But as soon as I applied this pink, I knew I made the right decision. & come on, you can totally picture Malibu Barbie wearing this manicure!

What do you think of this glitter look? Would you rock a Barbie-esque manicure like this? Let me know your thoughts down in the comments below.

& enjoy the weekend vibes!

Vibrant Blue Geometric Pattern Nails (featuring the new formula Sally Hansen Pacific Blue)

Hello lovelies & happy Thursday! Can you believe how quickly this week is going by? It’s been kind of rainy & gross here the last few days, which kind of had me craving some brighter colours in my life! So hence today’s nail art look.

I won’t lie — I’m still craving a lot of Fall & Autumn things right now. But every so often I like to mix things up with some not-Fall colours. & I thought this polish combo was really a lot of fun ( & the right amount of sparkle!)

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & Shine
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Pacific Blue (the new formula)
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Rock Star Pink
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Buffalo Nickel
  • NailStuff.ca 16mm Striper Brush

How gorgeous is the combination of Sally Hansen’s new formula Pacific Blue & Rock Star Pink? I’ve owned this bottle of the new Pacific Blue for a few years, but I’m fairly certain this time is the first time I’ve actually worn it. We all know much I adore the original Pacific Blue, so I think I was just being a snob about it haha. Of course, this new version is not as perfect as the original, but it’s still a pretty polish — especially with a cost of Rock Star Pink layered overtop.

Originally I had planned on just wearing my nails plain, but I got this idea about doing some geographic lines over top, & I feel like it completed the look. Something about the contrast of the silver over the blue is just perfect. It’s a very vibrant look, & I love that.

What do you think of this nail art look? Do you love the combo of the pink glitter over the blue as much as I do? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below! & have a lovely Thursday!

SWATCH SUNDAY — Glam Doll Electronica

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday!

There is nothing more that I love than discovering a new to me nail polish brand! It’s quite exciting, like finding buried treasure or something. Truly, it’s very exciting to be perusing a store & stumble upon a polish brand I’ve never discovered before.

That’s what happened last week when I stumbled across this pretty bottle of polish while checking out a pharmacy I never go to. & I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you, especially because my Google research couldn’t find much at all about this nail polish brand.

2 coats over a base of Essence Take Me To Heaven

The second I saw those beautiful glittery shade, I was smitten. The formula is pretty a pretty thin cruelly, with a lot of pf glitter crammed in. There are metallic fushica micro glitters, slightly larger neon green & blue glitters, & then larger cobalt blue hex glitters.

I chose to apply it over some baby blue undies, to cut down on coats I needed to apply, but I would assume you would need 3 or 4 coats for full-ish opacity. You could also get away with one coat over a blue base, if you were feeling a less concentrated glitter look. For me, 2 coats over some undies was perfect

This polish seems very Spring-y & fun. It reminds me a bit of the Nails INC Sprinkles collection that was released around 2012. In fact, when looking them up online it is awfully similar to Pudding Lane — which of course was the only one from the collection that I didn’t find back then so I can’t do a proper comparison. But from looking online, I’d say they’re pretty darn close.

What do you think about this polish? Have you ever heard of the brand Glam Doll before? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below, & if you’re a fan of this summery glittery polish pick?
