Teal & Blue Colour Block French Manicure

Good morning loves & happy Thursday. It’s almost the weekend!

I hope everyone’s week is not too crazy. I’ve just been wistfully sitting here, wishing for Spring. Every time I look at the dresses in my closet, I can’t help but wonder… how much longer? So I decided another bright & colourful manicure was in order. But… I’ll be honest. I’ve been very wrapped up in all the Vanderpump Rules drama going on, so I also needed something not too involved.

So naturally I decided a bright & colourful colour block French design would be perfect. Quick, easy, & gorgeous!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & Shine
  • Top Coat: Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel X FRIENDS The One With The Teal (PR/gifted)
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Beatnik

Okay, so I did this look completely 100% freehand, & even I can’t believe how clean & straight I managed these lines. Also, I really like the kind of asymmetrical look of this design, as opposed to my usual (similar) colour block looks. But the colours — the colours are definitely my favourite part. This pop of colour is exactly what I needed, & I didn’t even realize it. I’m obsessed.

It’s just a really fun, easy look with an endless possibility of colour combinations. I’m so happy with how they turned out.

What do you think about this colour block French manicure look? Do you think this is a great design & pop of colour for Spring? I’d love to know what colour combination you would choose for this look, so let me know down in the comments below!

Have a lovely Thursday! ♥︎

Glam Nails Challenge December — Candy Cane

Good morning lovelies & happy Monday! & happy 6 days until Christmas Day! I worked a very busy weekend, & the Christmas shopping rush is real. Now if only it would actually feel like Christmas was on its way. Currently, they’re calling for 10 degrees (Celsius) & thunder & lightning on Christmas Eve.

So festive.

You know what is festive though? My nails for the next Glam Nails Challenge prompt, which is Candy Cane. I was really excited for this prompt, because I had this idea of doing a Candy Cane French Manicure. This idea has been floating around in my head for a while, & I was so excited my nails were finally long enough I could!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & Shine
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-chip Top Coat
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Ski Bunny
  • Sally Hansen MG Red It Twice
  • French Tip Guides
  • NailStuff.ca Mermaid Tail Nail Brush Trio (11mm Liner Brush)

I know I say this almost every time, but how cute are these?! I got some many compliments on this design at work! It’s super simple, but just the right amount of festive. Which fits with retail style because I’ve been all about the Christmas Sweaters, fuzzy socks, & any head band that feels a little Christmas-y. After a long time in retail, I’ve accumulated quite the Christmas work wardrobe.

Also this was the last manicure I managed to do before a very tragic break on my middle finger nail. You can kind of see there was a little spot in it that I had previously hit. It wasn’t a break or a crack, but it was enough that I hit it off my fridge door & now I’m back to big time shorties.

Are you following along with Glam Nails Challenge December on Instagram? Are you enjoying the manicures that you’ve seen so far? We have a few more prompts to go… 3 I think? That’s crazy!

& I hope you’re ready for some super short nail looks! Because that’s what we have coming up for the remainder of the month.

Have an awesome rest of your Monday!

Purple Metallic French Tips

Hello lovelies & happy Monday… it’s been a while! Sorry for my bit of an absence—this last couple weeks have been a little crazy, & I was trying to accomplish too many things at once, & my head ended up not in a great place. So I decided to pause doing the challenge for this month, & take a little breather.

I did miss posting my nails though.

I did these easy metallic French tips last week, when I needed an easy to do look. I used to love French manicures circa 2002 — inspired by Kaley Cuoco on 10 Rules… who always rocked a classic French manicure on the show. The classic French still remains too boring for me now (sorry) but I have been loving the updated versions I’ve been seeing on Instagram, so I wanted to try them myself! Of course, we had to give it an updated Fall feel.

& easiest part was no tools needed.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie First Base
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • Essence Arabian Nights
  • Zoya Devin

Oh man, long nails look so good with these kinds of designs. This was pre-me breaking a few nails last week & needing to trim my claws back. I really adore how this looks so I’ll definitely be doing it again in a variety of colours when I need an easy go to nail art look — a nice change from my usual dotticure. & again, this look was so so easy to do, with no tools needed. I just carefully used the brush from Zoya Devin & ran it along the tip of my nail ever so carefully.

Of course, if you were feeling uneasy about trying to freehand this look, you could definitely use French tip guides, or my favourite: paper hole reinforcers.

What do you think about this nail art look? What are your feelings on this new version of the French manicure? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below, & which colour scheme you would love to see next!
