Spring Floral with Peak-a-Boo Holo

Hello lovelies & happy Wednesday!

I’ve been slacking a bit on my posting this week, haha. Sometimes real life just gets in the way of blog life. But I’ve got a big, big coffee to start my day, & I’m finally sharing this floral I teased on my Instagram stories last week. 💗🌸

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Top Coat: Essie Good to Go
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel In The Sheer
  • Starrily Eclipse
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Orchid-ing Aside
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Violet Voltage
  • Sally Hansen I ♥️ Nail Art pen in Pink
  • Sally Hansen I ♥️ Nail Art pen in Blue
  • Sally Hansen I ♥️ Nail Art pen in Turquoise
  • Sally Hansen Insta-Dri VaVa Violet
  • Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Thyme is Money
  • Sally Hansen CSM Let’s Snow
  • Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Black Heart
  • Essie Off Tropic
  • Essie In The Cabana
  • Color Club Art Club Pink Pastel
  • NailStuff.ca 7mm detail brush
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio

Whew, this was a lot of polishes to bring it alive, but the end result…. well I think it speaks for itself! Also check out that peak-a-boo holo! I’m kind of a obsessed with dainty holographic looks over a nude-ish base. It’s a nice introduction to Spring, & since here on the East Coast it’s apparently going to be above average temperatures for the next 3 months, I think we’re going to have an early Spring! Which, you know… I’m okay with. Give me Spring dresses, no snow, & pastels, & I’ll be happy. It’s the least 2021 can do for us after the dumpster fire that was last year.

What do you think about this Spring floral, & it’s sneaky holo base? Are you, too, ready for more Spring? Let me know what you are looking forward to the most about Spring down in the comments below!

#GlamNailsChallengeDec — Christmas Lights

Good Morning lovelies & Happy Monday! Can you believe it’s only 10 days until Christmas Eve? Who else isn’t finished their shopping yet? 🙈

Today it’s time for another #GlamNailsChallengeDec look — this time the prompt is Christmas Lights. Originally I did a more tradition Christmas lights look, but I completely smeared it when I applied my top coat, so I went back & redid them as another design. & this is actually a recreation of a look I did 4 years ago that were inspired by one of the Starbucks Red Cup designs!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Hard As Nails
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Shiny Top Coat
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Can’t Beet Royalty
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Get Mod
  • Starrily Nails VantaBlack
  • NailStuff.ca 4mm Micro Detail Brush (COFFEE10 saves you 10%!)

I’m really digging this look. Yes, it’s not your traditional Christmas Lights look, but I’m kind of glad my first design got all smeared (although, definitely wasn’t in the moment, haha!) It gave me a chance to recreate one of my favourite nail art looks from a few years ago! & I definitely love taking a trip down (nail art) memory lane!

What do you think about this take on Christmas lights? Do you like my white light look? Are you more of a coloured Christmas light person, or an all white Christmas light person. We are definitely team coloured lights here— there is something about them that just feels way more Christmas-y! 🎄

Cozy Plaid & Reindeer Nails

Happy Monday Lovelies!

Hope everyone is having a nice start to their week so far. I’ve already enjoyed a nice vegan nog latte, & got our shopping for the next few weeks done. Today, I have some more festive nails to share with you, this time inspired by an older manicure by an older manicure by @nbnailart (which I rediscovered via Pinterest.) I really really liked the mix of the plaid, & the gold & the reindeer head, so I decided to create my own version of it!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Hard As Nails
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • Orly Decades of Dysfunction
  • Essie After School Boy Blazer
  • Essie Mosaic On Down
  • Color Club Art Club Pink Pastel
  • Unnamed Kozmic Kolours Pink (from Dollarama)
  • NailStuff.ca 16mm Striper Brush (COFFEE10 to save 10!)
  • Born Pretty Store Stamping plate BP-L032 (item #23268)
  • NailStuff.ca Clear Stamper

First off, I’m really feeling this colour combination, which gives me cosy Winter vibes. While I’m definitely feeling the shift towards holiday & Christmas inspired nail art, I don’t want to go Full Christmas just yet (aka red & green everything) so I feel like this colour scheme is a good start. You still get holiday vibes, without going overboard. That being said, I’m still going to be adding coconut Nog to my coffee & listening to Glee Christmas albums on repeat haha.

Second, I am really in love with how this plaid turned out. I always feel like my plaid attempts can get a little busy, so I was impressed with how these turned out following the original. Definitely how I’m going to be approaching my plaid nails from now on! & I will totally be doing a green & red plaid using this method…. soon. Probably after December 1st.

What do you think about this design? What Christmas/Winter/Holiday designs are you planning on doing this year? With the world being so scary, & uncertain, I’m definitely going to spend a good amount of time calming my brain by coming up with fun looks to share! I don’t know if I’ll be able to do 1 a day, but I’m hoping to do a great variety for the month of December, plus GlamNailsChallengeDecember, so stay tuned!

Autumn-esque Horizontal Accent Stripes

Hello lovelies & happy Thursday! & Happy October 1st. It’s officially the first day of my birthday month & Halloween month! October is definitely my favourite month of the year & the BEST month for nail art!

Starting things off with some horizontal Autumn inspired accent nails. I’ve really been loving accent nail designs lately because sometimes you just don’t have time to do all of your nails. & lately, that has been my life. So accent designs are my lifeline!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Hard As Nails
  • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
  • Sally Hansen Good Kind Pure Beet It
  • Sally Hansen Good Kind Pure Pink Cardamom
  • Sally Hansen InstaDri Thyme is Money
  • Essie Fall for NYC
  • China Glaze First Mate
  • Straight Nail Vinyls
  • NailStuff.ca 16mm Striper Brush (COFFEE10 saves you 10%!)

For this look, I used some straight nail vinyls to create my initial blocks of colour. Then I went in with my NailStuff striper brush to create more lines, kind of overlapping each other which gives the lines of a bit of a fuller look (& it’s way easier to create straight lines when you’re following already straight lines!).

This look & colour combination is giving me 90s retro vibes — it’s giving me some serious Willow from Buffy sweater vibes, & I’m loving everything about it. I’ve definitely been spending too much time stalking the BuffytheOutfitSlayer instagram! Haha. But I am not complaining, because this nail art design turned out too cute!

What do you think about these stripe-y accent nails? What colour combination would you chose for an accent nail look like this? Let me know what you think down in the comments below (& let me know what October activities you’re looking forward to!)

Fall Drag Marble

Hello lovelies & happy Thursday! How this week is speeding by so quickly, I have no idea. I know I’ve been pretty quiet on here; we spent Friday-Monday away for my Grandfather’s memorial, so I was pretty busy last week & basically everything took a backseat! But I’m back & I’ve got some new fun nails to share with you!

As I’ve mentioned before, Fall colours are pretty much all I’m grabbing right now. I’m so here for them! Today’s look combines a few darker shades, perfect for September, but still keeps things a little light. I’ll be honest, I’m totally counting down the days until Halloween designs can start! But I thought I would get a few other designs in beforehand.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Hard As Nails
  • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
  • Essie Gel Couture Princess Charming
  • Essie Kimono Over
  • Essie Brides No Groom
  • Essie Mosiac On Down
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio — I used the smalled one (COFFEE10 saves you 10%)

I won’t lie, it’s been a while since I attempted a drag marble, & even though I’m a little rusty, I think these turned out cool. Sometimes I find my drag marbles turn into a big blobby mess, so I tried really hard to make sure the colours kind of stayed separated. I’m going to keep practicing, because it’s such an easy way to fancy up your nails.

Loving this combination of colours. I’ll be honest with the fact I have been kind of distracted from looking at all the Fall shades popping up in stores. I’m not much for buying nail polish online unless they’re special shades, & I haven’t really been out in stores perusing nail polish like I used to. So I’m really trying to go through all my old nail polishes from years past, & using them! I definitely have a lot of nail polish to choose from, haha.

What do you think about this drag marble look? Do you like the colour combination I went with? Have you ever tried a look like this? Let me know what you think down in the comments below, & whether or not you would try this look!
