GLAM NAILS CHALLENGE DECEMBER (2024) — Holly

Hello lovelies & happy Wednesday. & happy one week until Christmas Day. I don’t know how it happened, but it’s almost here. & that’s just crazy.

Today, we’ve got another prompt for Glam Nails Challenge December: Holly. Holly has such endless options, but I went with a simple freehand look.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: NailStuff Essentials Base Coat *
  • Top Coat: Nail Stuff Essentials Quick Dry Top Coat *
  • Essie Gel Couture Polished & Poised *
  • Claire’s Mini Polish shimmer (no name)
  • Essie Off Tropic *
  • Color Club What’s The Matte-r
  • Essie Bordeaux *
  • Sally Hansen Good Cheer-y
  • NailStuff Essentials White Dove *
  • Nailstuff.ca Mermaid Tail 7mm liner brush
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio

*pr/gifted

It’s been so long, it feels like, since I did any freehand floral, so these felt nice to do. My inspiration was the holly bush in our front yard, although as you can see in my photos, the birds are all the berries off our bush.

So hard to believe we’re so close to Santa being here! I’m definitely looking forward to the few days off spent with my family. Who knows what Santa is going to sneak into my stocking — hopefully some nail polishes!

GLAM NAILS CHALLENGE DECEMBER (2024) — Christmas Lights

This week has been a rough one for painting my nails & getting them posted. I’ve had a never ending headache/migraine. Plus my holiday vibes are nonexistent this year. I don’t know if it’s just me, but it doesn’t feel like almost Christmas to me.

But! I did get the next prompt for Glam Nails Challenge December created which was Christmas Lights. This was inspired by a look I saw on Pinterest & thought was neat. So I decided to do my own twist on it.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: NailStuff Essentials Base Coat *
  • Top Coat: Nail Stuff Essentials Quick Dry Top Coat *
  • Essie Nail Art Studio Mystic Marine*
  • Essie Frilly Lillies*
  • Essie Life’s A Beach
  • Essie Offbeat Chic *
  • Essie Making Spirits Bright
  • Quo by Orly Black Striper
  • NailStuff 4mm Micro Detail Brush

*PR/gifted

I really tried to do some kind of peakaboo snowflakes with Making Spirits Bright but they’re more hidden than I was planning on. The sparkle does look really pretty in person though.

What do you think about these Christmas light nails? Did I honour the inspiration well?

GLAM NAILS CHALLENGE DECEMBER (2024) — Candy Cane

Hello lovelies & happy Wednesday.

Another late in the day post, but in my defence I went to bed with a massive headache… & woke up with a migraine. So I wasn’t keen on screens or trying to finish up this post. It’s prompt number 4 of Glam Nails Challenge & this one is Candy Cane. I wanted to make sure I wasn’t copying my candy cane nails from earlier this season, & I think this look turned out super cute!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: NailStuff Essentials Base Coat *
  • Top Coat: Nail Stuff Essentials Quick Dry Top Coat *
  • Essie Off Tropic *
  • NailStuff Essentials White Dove *
  • Nailstuff Essentials Cardinal *
  • Essie Cosmic Chrome *
  • Nailstuff.ca Mermaid Tail 7mm liner brush
  • Largest size from NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio

*PR/Gifted

I knew I wanted to do a green base, & I knew I wanted to add some candy cane accents, but I thought it would be cute to add a whole candy cane on my thumbs as an accent.

Also, adding a coat of Essie Cosmic Chrome over the stripes gave it such a cool finish, it really did remind me of a real candy cane! If I’d had any on hand, I would have posed with one, but I hope the little sprinkling of snow we got yesterday is an equally seasonal backdrop.

What do you think about my candy cane nails? What is your favourite flavour of candy cane? While I do appreciate the OG peppermint, I tried the maple syrup flavour in the Brach’s Elf candy cane collection & they were so freaking good! I wish I had a way to go a whole (Costco sized) box of just maple!

Glittery Dotticure

Hello loves & happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend.

As you may have noticed in yesterday’s post, I’m back to rocking shorter nails. & Sometimes short nails can feel kind of lame, so I decided to do something fun. I’m all about the glitter right now, so I felt like some sparkle was much needed — & I wanted to create another version of this nail art look I did last New Year’s Eve, but with a darker base this time.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: NailStuff Essentials Base Coat *
  • Top Coat: Nail Stuff Essentials Quick Dry Top Coat *
  • OPI Less is Norse
  • OPI Infinite Shine Put On Something Ice
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio

How cute are these little sparkles? I tried my best to get a little sparkle in each dot but it wasn’t always the easiest. Still looks so pretty against the darker blue base shade of Less is Norse.

It’s also giving me Christmas inspo to try this with a white base & green & red glittery polishes!

What do you think of this glittery dotticure on my new shorties? Do you like this look? Let me know all your thoughts in the comments below & let me know what you’re wearing right now!

Cosy Matte Knit Nails

*contains PR

Good morning lovelies & happy Friday. & happy (almost) weekend! Can you believe we’re halfway through November? I know I say this every month, but it’s truly astonishing how quickly this year is coming to a close.

But I do appreciate all the nail art ideas this time of year! Because there are so many you can do! Today I was feeling some knit inspired nails. This is a design I’ve done before, & it’s perfect for a pre-holiday, late Autumn look.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: NailStuff Essentials Base Coat *
  • Top Coat: Nail Stuff Essentials Quick Dry Top Coat *
  • Matte Top Coat: Nail Stuff Essentials Matte Top Coat *
  • Essie Expressie Feel The Hype*
  • Essie Bikini So Teeny*
  • Nailstuff.ca Mermaid Tail 7mm liner brush

How cute is this knit effect? It reminds me of the sweaters & scarves I’ve been layering on because it’s been freezing lately — & I get cold easily anyways. This is such an easy look to do, too, & you can use any colour. In fact, I’m already brainstorming a fun Red scarf inspired look in my head.

It’s also the perfect nail art look for any nail length—short of long, it will look great on your nails!

What do you think about this knit inspired nail art look? Do you like the colours & pattern? What nail art are you loving right now? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!

Happy Friday.
