Easy Groovy Floral with Essie!

Hello lovelies & happy sunny, beautiful Thursday! I’m finally feeling excited about Summer — because it’s finally starting to feel like Summer! & what is more summery & fun than an easy floral look using some very Summery shades?

On Tuesday, for National Nail Polish Day, I was invited to participate in a Zoom event with Essie Canada with Rita Remark, who is Essie’s global lead educator. This was my first opportunity participating in an event like this, & it was super fun to hear about Summer trends, & polish shades, manicure tips, & even follow a live tutorial on how to create a very cute (& very easy!) floral look created by Rita. They even sent each one of us who attended a selection of polishes so we could follow along while we watched!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • Essie Tangerine Tease
  • Essie Pucker Up
  • Essie Mint Candy Apple
  • Essie Blanc

How seriously adorable are these colours together? Two shades (Tangerine Tease & Pucker Up) are from the Summer 2021 collection, & the other two (Mint Candy Apple & Blanc) are core shades, but all 4 go so beautifully together to create this fun, groovy, poppy nail art look. I really love it!

In fact, I can already picture some more Summery nail art looks that I’ll be creating using these shades. I need some brightness in my life.

What do you think of this super cute, super easy nail art look? This was my first time following a live tutorial, & I think it turned out really awesome! Also stay tuned, because I’ll be sharing swatches of Tangerine Tease & Pucker Up! this weekend.

Dainty Spring Floral with the Sally Hansen Rainbow Lights Collection

{contains PR/Gifted Items}

Morning lovelies & happy… Tuesday? I think it’s Tuesday anyways. I feel like May is actually going by at Turbo speed, which is nice when you’re whole city is in lockdown, but hopefully the Summer isn’t gone in a flash as well.

Today I’m excited because I have a super pretty design to share using the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Rainbow Lights collection I share for Swatch Sunday last week. Looking at those colours, all I could think was floral 🌸, so that’s what I went with!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Shiny Top Coat
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Crying Out Cloud
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Tutu The Ballet
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Sweet Pea
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Sun-shower
  • NailStuff.ca 7mm detail brush

First off, please excuse the raindrops — I took my picture when it was just beginning to rain.

Second, how cute is this floral? The colours are so perfect for a floral design & I love the dainty subtle muted shades all together. This is a very Spring-y design, & I really like it. It also is giving me late 90s vibes — maybe I’ve just been watching too much Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Also I totally didn’t realize until I was done that I used Crying Out Cloud as my base shade, but I did say it was favourite!

What do you think about this dainty floral look? Do you like this combination of colours? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments, & if you’ve picked up any of the Rainbow Lights shades yourself.

Pink Floral on Coral

Hello lovelies & happy Tuesday! Hope you’re all having a lovely, safe start to your week. Can you believe we’re almost half way through April? I can’t believe how quickly this month is going. & so far, we’ve more or less had beautiful weather.

I’ll take it!

& today I’m sharing another floral look with you! I did this look the other week after snapping off my middle finger at work. It hurt, especially because they’ve completely transformed & were getting so long! So I thought some (more) floral was in order to cheer myself up.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Top Coat: Essie Good to Go
  • Color Club Tankini (mood changing nail polish)
  • Orly Scenic Route
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Orchid-ing Aside
  • Sally Hansen CSM Cherry Cherry Bang Bang
  • Sally Hansen Get Mod!
  • Essie Off Tropic
  • Essence The Green & the Grunge
  • Starrily Vantablack
  • NailStuff.ca 7mm detail brush
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio

First off, I love, love, LOVE this Color Club shade. It was another one of those amazing Winners (or, possibly Marshall’s) find. I’ve been absolutely obsessed with these mood (thermal) changing polishes since my late 2009 Claire’s days when I had to buy all of them! The shift on this shade is subtle, but either way the colour is GORGEOUS & I’m kind of obsessed. Very perfect for Summer.

Second, this floral turned out so pretty. Nothing like a little bit of girlie nail art to cheer yourself up after a bad break. I was going for a bit of a cartoon-y floral, & I think I achieved what I was trying to do!

What do you think about this floral on my new shorties? how do you cope with a bad, bad break? Let me know in the comments below!

Pretty & Bright Spring Floral

Hello lovelies & happy Tuesday! Can you believe it’s Tuesday already? Hope everyone had the most lovely weekend. I was so into family time this weekend, that I totally forgot that yesterday was Coffee & Nail Polishes’ 7th birthday! So happy birthday to this fun little blog of mine. 🥳👑🎂

I would say I celebrated with cake, but all I wanted after the last 4 days was a huge salad.

But today I have another Spring floral to share with you! Will floral ever get boring to me? Nope! It’s still my absolute favourite design to do, & that hasn’t changed in 7 years.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Top Coat: Essie Good to Go
  • Icing Matte Effect 60217
  • Sally Hansen Good Kind Pure Peony Origins
  • Sally Hansen Good Kind Pure Eco-Rose
  • Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Racing Rose
  • Essie Check Your Baggage
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Get Mod
  • Sally Hansen I ♥️ Nail Art pen in Purple
  • Essie Go Ginza
  • Essie Off Tropic
  • Essie First Timer
  • Essence The Green & The Grunge
  • NailStuff.ca 7mm detail brush
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio

So, so many polishes but the end result is absolutely perfect. The colours are so bright & eye catching, which is my favourite kind of floral. We’ve had way, way too many days of clouds & rain, so we could really use some bright & sunny days. Maybe this manicure will encourage Mother Nature a little bit to send some sunshine our way.

&, if not, at least there is a little bit of sunshine on my nails to cheer me up.

What do you think about this design? Are you sick of the floral yet? (I hope not!) let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below! & share what Spring nail art trends you’re loving right now.

#GlamNailsChallengeFeb — Plants 🪴

Hello lovelies & happy Tuesday. I’m totally late posting this manicure thanks to a crazy work weekend! But late is better than never.

The next promo for #glamnailschallengeFeb is plants! & I am definitely plant obsessed, so I was excited for this prompt. Plus anything floral or plant related are definitely favourites for me to create on my nails. For this particular look, I decided to go with my pothos & philodendrons for inspiration.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Top Coat: Essie Good to Go
  • Matte Top Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Matte Top Coat
  • Quo by ORLY Planita
  • Essie Off Tropic
  • Essence The Green & The Grunge
  • Essie First Timer
  • NailStuff.ca 7mm detail brush(COFFEE10 to save 10%)

Oh man, I love a dainty manicure, & I feel like these vine-y leaves are super dainty & beautiful. They were also super easy to do… well relatively easy to do. You just have to kind of work with your brush, & it really makes it easier to create the leave shape.

Also how perfect does this design look against my heart leaf philodendron. It was the perfect prop for my photos! He loves in our living room window in one of my macrame hangers, & gives my morning coffee some serious jungle vibes. 🪴 I love him.

What do you think about this plant design? Do you think I nailed the prompt? Let me know what your favourite plant is down in the comments below!
