SWATCH SUNDAY — Color Club Bright Night

Good morning lovelies & happy Sunday! It’s a beautiful sunny Sunday here on the East Coast — & not too humid, which is a nice change of pace. The mornings are already starting to give us those small hints that Autumn isn’t too, too far away.

& I kind of love it.

Today, I’m sharing a fun polish I pulled from my stash which I feel like is perfect for both late Summer/early Fall vibes. This is Color Club Bright Night.

2 coats + top coat

This beautiful cobalt blue was originally released as part of the Summer 2013 collection, but then became part of the permanent core collection because she’s still available on the Color Club website.

The formula on this one was easy to work with. With it being slightly neon, it does have a bit of a matte finish, so like all mattes it dries a bit quicker so two coats was definitely required to alleviate any patchiness. & of course, I added top coat for a glossy finish.

Anyone who knows me, knows I love a good blue nail polish — especially a cobalt blue! This shade reminds me a bit of Sinful Colors Endless Blue so I would be curious to do a comparison between the two to see how close they are.

& if you have both these polishes & have compared them — let me know down in the comments below!

GLAM NAILS CHALLENGE AUGUST (2024) — Night Sky 🌌

Hello beauties & happy Monday. I hope everyone had a lovely weekend.

This month is speeding by quickly! We’re already on our third prompt of Glam Nails Challenge August, & the next prompt is Night Sky. For this look, I went with a dark base & some pretty stamped on holographic stars to complete it. & oh boy… am I in love!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: LA Colors Mega Grow Treatment
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • Essie No More Film
  • Claire’s Holographic
  • Color Club Bewitched
  • NailStuff.ca Clear Jelly Stamper Set
  • Born Pretty Store Classic Patterns Stamping Plate BP-L006 (discontinued)

Hello gorgeous!

While usually I would go with a classic galaxy design for a prompt like this, I’m glad I went with the stamped stars because I just think this look turned out perfect! I love the shifty base, I love my secretly holographic stars (those Color Club holos really do stamp so well!); I love everything! This is exactly the reason why I knew I wanted to jump back into the Glam Nails Challenge game this month — I needed to get my nail art mojo back after a rough beginning to the year, & it feels like I finally am!

Just in time for my favourite nail art months of the year.

What do you think of my night sky inspired nails? Are you a fan of this design? Would you wear this nail art look? Let me know your thoughts down in the comments below!

& as always, you can follow along with the Glam Nails Challenge on Instagram with the hashtag #glamnailschallengeaug24 & see all the beautiful nails that have been created!

Happy Monday!

Holo & Graphic Geometric Lines

Hello lovelies & happy Thursday! It’s a beautiful, warm sunny day & I’m enjoying every second of it. & the sunshine is making me crave a lot of sparkle. ✨

It’s been a while since I rocked some graphic geometric lines, so I pulled out a Quo by Orly striper I recently found at the thrift store (it had never been used — I was pumped!) & I created this geometric look. & I think the black over the lighter blue is so striking — I just love it!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifer
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • Essie In The Cab-Ana
  • Color Club Bougie Baby
  • Quo By Orly Striper Black

These almost look like stained glass, but with only one colour. I think they turned out really pretty. I also can’t stop adding glitter — in particular holographic glitter — to all my base colours.

When I do geometric line designs like this, I’m really not particular in what I’m doing — I kind of just go with what I’m feeling. I originally had just line straight lines, but it felt like something was missing so I added the outline around my nail, & it felt like it brought everything together! & surprisingly, it really wasn’t that hard to do at all.

What do you think about this geometric lines design? Are you feeling the sparkly holo & the crisp black lines? Would you wear a design like this? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below & what colour you would wear as your base on a design like this!

Enjoy your Thursday! ♥︎

SWATCH SUNDAY — Color Club A Warm Place

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday. I hope where ever you are, it’s been a beautiful week. We’ve had a little bit of every season this week, which always sends me into a spiral. Winter is my least favourite season, & I can’t wait for nicer days to come.

Today though, I’ve got a hot polish shade to share with you.

Color Club A Warm Place.

2 coats + no top coat

This beautiful warm red applied like a dream, for a polish that is definitely (more than) a few years old — peep that old school Color Club label! The colour is definitely more on the warm side, with a bit of a pink undertone so it compliments the olive tones in my skin well.

It had a nice shine, even without applying top coat, but obviously if I was wearing it out & about I would seal it in with a glossy top coat. I was very happy to see that it was quite opaque, & only needed 2 coats for full, solid coverage.

I picked up this bottle at my local Lawtons a while ago — they haven’t sold Color Club in years — but when looking it up online I couldn’t find much about this shade aside from a few scattered bottles for sale.

So if anyone has any information on when this shade was released, collection info, etc — let me know!

What do you think about Color Club A Warm Place? Do you love a good red as much as I do? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below! ♥️

Happy Sunday

GLAM NAILS CHALLENGE MARCH — Lines

Good morning lovelies & happy Monday! It’s officially the first week of March, & I decided to jump into Glam Nails Challenge March for this month, as I loved the prompts listed. I’m just feeling like I need to be inspired to do some fun, Spring-y nails.

The first prompt for this month is lines. Obviously, I went with a classic stripe design for my line inspired look, in a rainbow of pastel Spring-y colours. It matches perfectly with the warmer temperatures & sunshine we’ve had the last few days.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifer
  • Top Coat: China Glaze Fast Forward Top
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Crying Out Cloud
  • Sally Hansen MG Sweet Pea
  • Sally Hansen MG Sun Shower
  • Color Club Art Club Striper Passion Flower
  • Color Club Art Club Striper Pink Pastel
  • Nailstuff.ca Mermaid Tail 7mm liner brush

This look was simple & easy to do. The colour combination is definitely giving the Spring vibes & inspiration that I was looking for. It’s been a while since I was feeling good about doing my nails, or really feeling inspired to do anything more than just a simple solid colour, but with warmer days ahead I’m feeling good about it again. & I always like when I have a whole month where I don’t have to think too much about what designs I’m going to have to do.

What do you think about my lines design for the first prompt of Glam Nails Challenge March? Do you like the Spring-y colour combination that I chose? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!
